- Been wanting to get my hands on one of these for a while, glad things lined up and I was able to land myself a Hologram Electronics Dream Sequence. Not an everyday pedal, but certainly one I keep reaching for.

Had a blast doing this with you man! 🤘🤘
My man! You absolutely nailed it. So happy with how it all came together.
so amazed by you always ❤️
The most soothing demos on CZcams
Amazing opening track with Upgrade! Variety is so needed in the pedal demo space and this was not only something other than the usual blues or metal, but something legitimately creative and cool.
I've had one of these since they came out. I'm checking out your video many years later and wow, what a great jam and great mixture of sounds!
Crazy good perfomance )) Thanks for the song and review!
Thank you so very much
The sudden appearance of the beanie was excellent. Great video.
Thank you so much! For some reason, the bass player always insists on wearing it :)
I was gonna say, I think the bass player always has stylish headgear. This could be the basis for the Stompbox Breakdown Drinking Game. Stylish headwear bassist? Drink. Onscreen graphic showing a signal path or schematic? Drink.
@@TheAmazingSnarf That's a great idea! Busker's Story appears as background music? Everybody drinks

@@StompboxBreakdown And so begins a piece of channel lore. 😎👍
Incredible. The Hologram box is amazing, and I love the paces you've put it through- but the Collab with Upgrade? Nothing short of stunning. Also: I'm not keeping track, but I think the SL-20 may have the highest number of 'guest appearances' in your back catalogue. And that's a great thing. Loved this week's episode!
Thank you! All the credit to Upgrade, he found that bouncy rhythm and ran with it. I didn't think the SL-20 made that many appearances (SL-20 episode, Random episode, this one... maybe another?) Yeah, you may be right, haha.
Great episode. The hiphop element was a literal ....upgrade. Only with your demo did I realise how the DS is a kind of a SLICER (my favorite pedal - we 've talked about that in the past) ..but with programmable DIY patterns. But the DS from what I understand can't do all the stuff the SLICER can.... since some of its' patterns have effects on individual beats, effects that are not only overdrive and pitchshifting. I imagine you can put the drive on individual beats with the record knob function, providing you programm with a slow enough tempo....but I think the DS needs a send return effect loop to expand its' texture building capabillities.
Thank you! I think you're right, and I thought there might be an option for recording the knob movement through MIDI but it doesn't look like it... just the octave information, which you'd have to do at super-slow speed to get it to land on individual beats. Funny you mention the effects loop, I'm working on a video *right this very second* that makes excellent use of an effects loop that I think you might enjoy. Makes a heck of a difference for volume-based effects.
@@StompboxBreakdown Oh! SO even in super slow you can't land what? Pitchshift? You mean through midi? Because the pitch thing you do with the foot switch right? And its' individual. No? I'm not sure I understood you. .... Maybe the midi sync could do the individual thing, with the proper midi syncable pedal after (or maybe before?) it. I would do it with my ROLAND EF-303 ..... I really like pedals that allow creative hacks through: a) effect loops b) CV inputs and outs c) dummy plugs (like you can do with the SLICER to double its' offered patterns) d) dry-wet outputs.( I use the BOSS DM-2W at very fast speeds to create a special kind of stereo spread that is omni present through its' full width)
Sorry, I didn’t say that very well. Doing it super slow you can do anything with the DS, but with MIDI, you can sequence the octaves in a DAW and send them over that way. I was thinking it’d be able to control everything with MIDI, but it won’t.
@@StompboxBreakdown οΗ οκ got it.
Now you gotta do the infinite jets there's been enough videos on the microcosm I wonder what next crazy box hologram will come up with
My friend has one, I might trade him for a while some time. Actually, it may be worth doing a sit down conversation about how he uses pedals for his sets, it’s pretty wild.
I”m hearing lots of hiss as the sounds fade away and I’ve noticed this in other demos also. Any thoughts?
Hard to say. There is an analog drive here, so it's going to increase the noise floor any time that is raised, but in general, when you hear a pedal or any gear on CZcams, there's going to be some sort of artifacts of the audio compression as the level trails off, just because it's trying to make a softer signal line up with the louder portion. I don't remember this pedal being noisy or having a hiss more than any other pedal.
