Mamamoo's time as a group is not coming to an end. I don't know why you think that. Mamamoo will be around for a long time just like SNSD. Mamamoo+ and the song Better is just something extra that Moonbyul and Solar have given us while we wait for the upcoming comeback album. Mamamoo as a full group are performing at two kpop festivals this month and they will be announcing their ot4 concert dates including world tour dates soon after.
Solar also had another song, Image (5:52am), which was written and produced by Jungkey and was part of a tv show.
Crazy to think wheein's ost is for a reality show... i've never heard of them commissioning osts before, so it's really unexpected.
And she's got so many osts this year...
We've seriously been getting at least one new wheein song a month, which is unbelievable
Crazy to think big naughty is only 19 years old (that came up on twitter because there was suddenly a looot of attempts at shipping him with the girls, esp solar, esp after the behind the scenes was released showing him joining byul in trolling her. Very much worth checking the bts out, btw)

I'll fill you in a lil! so mamamoo is most likely having a comeback next month, a few days ago they had fans at rbw to choose a title track.. these fans described the songs but it's so complicated I won't even get into it💀
also second world is airing every tuesday, yesterday the second episode aired (but unfortunately there doesn't seem to anywhere with subtitles for this show yet)
also there's a bit of a controversy about the judging, since it's a show based on vocals but yesterday a contestant won based on everything except vocals😭 so I guess it's more like queendom 3 if you think about it

Hongki is the main vocalist for ft island, a korean band that has been around since 2007, hence solar always calling him 'ancestor'
He released a song with moonbyul on a show i mentioned ages ago, 'in sync' (or 'kissing' in korean), that formed (mostly) male/female duets through its short run. His is actually my least favorite of the three, despite still being really good, just because she was mostly relegated to rapping and harmonizing in it while she actually sang with both sandeul and... the lead singer of jannabi whose name i can never remember
(As an aside, this show is also where byul and punch met, as punch was sandeul's number one choice of singing partners. We also got a great sandeul/dindin song. And i do still wish we'd gotten a moonbyul/dindin one)
Hongki was indeed one of the other armands in 'mata hari', so solar has done this with both her fellow kpop stars in the show
Also, hongki tends to sing in pretty high keys, which was one reason he and byul worked so well together (if only she got to sing more). Still heartily recommend that song, as well as byul's other two on the show (and the sandeul/dindin one, though you haven't really seen either of those guys)
Actually, the ancestor part goes back to 2017, when Mamamoo was guesting on his Radio Show. They were playing a game regarding their then new song "Yes I am" and everyone had to describe the member to the right. In the end, Hongki wanted to be included too and that's when part-time comedian Wheein came up with it to everyones delight.,
The show is absolutely hilarious with Mamamoo performing Aze Gag, Hwasa imitating Gazelle and much more.
One of the many things I love about the part change series is what a perfect host Solar is. She does everything to make sure her guests shine. Parts of the songs where supports and others where she just gets out of the way.
In Better I love the skeptical looks they give Big Naughty as he's unpacking his weird collection. I find Solar taking his teddy bear away, a great touch, and then they run him into the ground.
As always with Mamamoo members, Moonbyul absolutely owns the crowd, and she does it with just herself. Not a bunch of fancy extras like most of the other contestants did.
“In the fall” is one of the most underrated songs!
The show is definitely a full blown show (and that short clip sort of reminds me how king of masked singer only uploads like half of each song, which is super frustrating)
There are 8 rappers in the program who are wanting to show off their vocals, and i know you already know several of them
The unfortunate thing is it already seems vocals are taking a back seat to dancing and rapping, despite the concept of the show being literally 'rappers showing off their singing prowess'.
In the first episode, two performers went head to head and both had nice stages, but the one who actually focused on her singing lost to the one who mostly rapped and danced... which even byul wasn't happy about (she and the one who lost have already partnered up for a later performance on the show)
And people have been pointing out the judges who are supposed to talk about vocals just keep saying stuff like 'that was nice, i enjoyed it' with byul having given much more critiquing herself, pointing out good, things that could be improved and such
Welcome back! Definitely having been missing your Mamamoo reactions so this marathon is great! Mamamoo+ has quite a bit of content that I hope you can react to. They had 2 videos that's a mockumentary on the creation of subunit, there is a 3rd video that's is a more serious Moonsun explanation of the reason for Mamamoo+, then there is a behind the scenes for the MV as well as a Q&A as well. Hope you can react to those here or on your Patreon! Also, as someone had mentioned, Moonbyul had previously done a duet with Lee Hong Ki that is definitely worth checking out. It was my first intro to serious Moonbyul vocals when I become a moomoo and it just blew my mind.

I'm kinda surprised at how much I love Better. The lyrics are cheesy af but they pull it off so well that instead of being cringy they capture the warm & fuzzy feelings perfectly. You probably haven't seen their MV reaction vid on the new Mamamoo+ yt channel or you'd know that in the "What is Solar doing?" moment (existential question of the decade) she's jumping up to grab the fluffy clouds. lol You gotta watch the 3 hilarious mockumentary vids about the formation of the subunit.
I forget who the dude on the right is in the In the Fall video but as I recall he's one of Woogie's friends or colleagues. Great song. The weird thing about that video is the difference between the keyboards we hear and what Woogie is playing with his hands. Granted there are extra vocal and instrumental tracks but it makes the whole "live" thing seem fake when there's such an obvious disconnect. In the Fall is one of my faves by Hwasa and it seems like your kind of song as far as the piano playing goes.
I don't know where to watch Second World but the first episode aired on Aug 30, which is also when Better was released. You can find the other contestants' intro songs on yt. They were all very impressive, tho with the exception of ex-Wonder Girls Yubin everyone mostly rapped and did very little or no singing. I thought the point of the show was to have gg rappers compete as singers so that confused me. Second World pre-released two cover songs by Moonbyul, which I assume you've heard (Congratulations and Delete).
Oh we definitely gotta check out the mockumentary videos! Think I saw them pop up when I was looking for the MV but of course I didn’t watch them yet lol

Maybe in future episodes they get them to do more singing in their performances but I guess we’ll have to wait and see! Excited either way

Since Woogie was the only one doing much of anything my eyes often went to him but it almost made me queasy to not hear what he was playing and hear something else instead.
My guess is there was no requirement to sing during their intros on Second World. From Moonbyul's comments about that episode it seems like the show didn't clarify what was expected of them in terms of staging and performance and how they'd be judged. She thought the judging was going to be based solely on their singing and was surprised at the much more elaborate stages by some of the other contestants.
Hello! Actually in the first episode they were told to sort of introduce themselves through their "main" job, which is being a rapper so that's what they all did. The performances from then would not count towards anything competition-wise.

IT'S SO GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK BRANDON!! idk if you're planning on reacting more or if you're still busy right now, but Solar's performance on Listen Up is a *must-see*. Her voice and performance style has changed drastically since Mata Hari and this stage really shows it. And as a vocalist, I think you would enjoy from an analytic perspective, not just as a moo.
Also the mamamoo+ mockumentary episodes are fucking hilarious -- it's basically moonsun with 150% the bickering. :) great stress relief content.
if you want to do the same thing you did in this video and see a little from each member, you could always check out psy feat. hwasa! I'm like ...75% sure you haven't seen it yet? and it's from a few months ago :) as for wheein....maybe you could watch one of her vlogs? or she did a budweiser sponsorship recently called beat the star where she sang and did a short interview. But do whatever you want and can manage, I'm seriously happy that you're business is taking off! I know that means you won't do reacting as often but starting a self-made business is REALLY hard and I'm happy you've accomplished as much as you have.

Ha, no it didn't but hwasa made a joke based on it, 'woogie noraebong' (korean name for karaoke) in the same cadence
There is an incredible version of this song that has her vocals in one ear and the music in the other that is very much worth checking out. Similar was done for one of wheein's songs around the same time and i swear someone put the two together but i can't find it on yt...
Woogie is a h1gher music producer who has worked a lot with loco and is basically the reason "don't" happened between hwasa and loco. He also produced "lemon", one of the two songs recently released by the two (park woosang did the other song, "somebody")
As much as I like the other members, Wheein's voice always impresses me the most!

I think a few have said it but dude mamamoo is not done as a group, the comback is already announced, no date but Solar let on it probably is within a year, Wheein on her youtube would not say when asked but said she cant say anything but when we see it we will understand. And they have a couple of concerts coming up. Mamamoo+, Solos, OST, musicals, TV shows, radio shows, youtube channels and collabs are great fillers to keep giving us mamamoo until that comeback. I dont know if you watched the other change ups but Solar always nails it and it is amusing watching Solar be the mamamoo backup for whomever is singing the mamamoo song.

Moonbyul's introduction in second world is FIRRREEE!!! The show actually started a week ago Tuesday we streamed it and it's on ep 2 now, moonbyuls performance will be next tuesday it's a 1 v 1 and she's going against jooe of momoland. We're actually hyped up about the show because the first two performance are already intense, though the judging seems unfair it's understandable because it's really hard to choose the winner they're all good.

You are in for a treat with Lee Hong Gi and FT Island!
Lee Hong Gi did a cover duet with Moonbyul called "비도 오고 그래서" (original by Heize) and they became friends after that. As for FT Island songs, there are so many good ones but Lee Hong Gi has said his personal favorite is "Wind". I highly recommend listening to their live performances!

I'm sure someone else has already told this to you but Moonbyul has actually already sung a song with Lee Hong Ki before. It was for this KBS show called In Sync where they got male and female vocalists of different genres to cover duets purely for the music (it wasn't a competition). She wasn't really known as a vocalist back then, but she along with male rapper Dindin got thrown into the mix for variety, I think? The first one was with B1A4 Sandeul (living room perf), her male bestie (as in they legit act like siblings, complete with the violence 🤣), and they covered Farewell Under the Sun.
Next is with band Jannabi's Junghoon (outdoor venue) and they sang Zion T's Snow.
Last is with Hongki, and they performed Heize's You, Clouds, Rain.
This was all in early 2019, when Byul was still very much working on building her confidence in her singing back up. She almost flat out refused to do the high notes then, and you can tell in some parts her voice was shaky, which only makes how much she's improved and what she can do now all the more special.
I’m trying to find full second world episodes too, it’s would just be awesome to see those rappers from different generations and different styled girl group just flex their talent and just get pretty much full songs etc and also I’d love to see their interactions
