Best intro of the rose bowl I've seen and I suspect it's because they figured they couldn't hype Iowa Stanford so they made it about the game itself, which is what it's always suppose to be about anyway. I always loved the uniqueness of the game and seeing plucky underdog overachiever types like these two get rewarded with a rose bowl invitation. That spirit shows so well in this intro
I marched in that rose parade that year. Ate my catered in and out burger in a parking lot and went back to a hotel in Torrance to watch Iowa get pantsed 0-35 in the first half

Brent had a great way of making the games he was involved with always seem big and important. And the great line; "you are looking live ..."
yeah-definitely -grew up with watching him on the NFL today in the late '70s early 80s....
And down the side liiine or daylight.
It was great hear Brent call this game he brings back so many childhood memories still miss him to this day.
Brent and Vern were really the best to do it and will be missed dearly in every CFB season
