This is what I hear, out on the nose of the engine in a Siding waiting on another train on a cold night with snow on the ground with the stars out in the middle of nowhere. Lol
I love the many sounds of a GEVO and its GEVO-12 engine. Great video. Question, did you use an external microphone to record this and if so what model?
Hmm this is the same loco and same engine but why the sound is different?.example i hear IAIS GE ES44AC Tier 3 when startup but the sound seems good but if i hear other gevo loco such from up and bnsf the sound was different.can you explain this sir?.thx a lot!
I honestly have no clue what you just said... What I got out of that is that the image does not match the sound you're used to hearing? If that's what you're asking, every unit doesn't sound the same at all times.
Locomotives generally have different idle modes. Fast idle, slow idle, and even extra slow idle for fuel consumption. Sometimes they will run in fast idle for warming up or running the compressor; keep in mind that there are a variety of GEVO models, and they do act a bit differently. Some don't seem to need to rev the engine as much when using the air compressor, etc...
Forget your little pickup trucks, this is what a real mans engine sounds like XD.
*Laughs in V12*
People with a bugatti chiron think they have powerful engines.
True.

@@codyzent6471 sorry lmao.
I was very happy that this year (2022) these ES44AC models will run here in Brazil along with the AC44i (Brazilian model of AC4400AH).

No external mic. Just built in DSLR mic.
Cool, it's a very good camera model. Thank you for your response.
What camera are you using? Looks amazing.
Dudeeee
Goodnight
Sweeeeeeeet
Technically it's probably making 900hp at idle, 4,400 in notch 8
Yeah. It idles around 700 something RPM if I’m right.
Well no, at idle this engine is at 400 rpm
nah, more like probably 50-100hp if even that. Engineis under no load so its making just enough power to keep it from stalling.
Sounds rougher than I thought
It’s misfiring to save fuel once you are under way thats when the prime mover starts firing on time the ac4400s do the same thing
always thought these gevos sounded like a cammed hot rod....
