    Good explanation on both headphones...but the fact that you usee music references to compare sound was very helpful. Have me a good idea of what to expect when I get my LPs tomorrow. Thanks man

    You can get the V-moda m80 on newegg for 199. The only problem is that you get a stock one, meaning that there are no customizations. You would have to buy the custom shields seperate.

    oh, yes and ive narrowed it down the models im looking at to the LP2s, sennheiser 25 1 iis, or maybe even one of sonys MDR models to play it safe. but i know i definately love to have the sound warm and yet detailed on all the frequencies. i love hearing the details in the layers, which is why i am steering wide and clear away from the boomy dr dre beats type phones.

    Good job, great review. I agree. I have the M-80's undead twin brother the V-80. As a matter of fact I am writing and wearing at the same time as your review is running. Great job and smooth comparison. The "80" series is great for the on the go audiophile, or you just want to jam out without sticking pieces of rubber in your ears. I have glasses, but still wear these for up to 13 hours per day on some days between work and home. Cheers!

    I just bought the M-80'sheadphones, best thing ive bought in a while now. They are amazing. Everything he says is true. I was scared that the custom plates would be ugly and not well made but the design I sent in was replicated exactly the way the pic looked. V-Moda has amazing customer support too. I was having problems with the shipping and they were so patient and nice, they made sure i got it in the next 3 days.I tried some beats pro and these at the same time and these were much better.

  • @korewest
    @korewest Před 11 lety

    I just wanted to point out that the headphone jack is a 45 degree cable, not a "right" (90 degree) angle. This is significant because the 45 degree angle relieves more pressure from different types of pull it may experience. Just throwing it out there :p

    Mainly price and the drivers. The Powerful bass from the LP was toned down for a more subtle sound for the LP2. I got the LP because I think that the difference in sound quality isn't worth the money and the LP is probably the most amazing headphones I ever used because of the immense build quality and general awesomeness from V-Moda. I would strongly recommend the LP. The LP2 also has different colours but due to the customisation, you can buy parts to make the LP have the same colours.

    they both different it really depends on what kind of music you like. If you're asking about it in general then it would be m-80 because it's more rounded to all different genres and has a flatter sound

  • @StaneDaynus
    @StaneDaynus Před 11 lety

    well, not exactly, considering the holes its basically a parshly closed back. it provides an airy wide but yet tight, clear sound. cover the holes and it takes away the crispness of the music. I bought them because you reviewed them, thank you :)

  • @Shift4g
    @Shift4g Před 11 lety

    Fr those wondering about the new M-100 compared to these. The M-100's are indeed tailored for bass (unlike the M-80). They are more refined than the LP2 as regards bass, mid, and treble quality, while not quite approaching the midrange resolution of the M-80. They are the perfect compromise (because this is inescapable) of both headphone's specialties. That being said, they are better than the LP2 for general EDM, Dubstep, Rap, etc if you can afford them.

  • @testshoot
    @testshoot Před 12 lety

    I just tried the M80 out at a Radio Shack. I played "The Veldt" by Deadmau5 and I was floored with how amazing it sounded when played off my EVO 3D phone! The M80 are pretty small, way smaller than I thought, and I have no place to demo the LPs anywhere. I tend to listen to AC/DC, Deadmau5 and even Jellyroll Morton.

    Great review! I just got the Crossfade M80 headphones on Tuesday and I am completely impressed by how it looks and sounds. Sound quality is absolutely fantastic and neutral . For those who are afraid that these headphones have little bass,I am telling you, these have ample and punchy bass that would satisfy most of the consumers out there. Unless you're one of those that love really booming bass, you'll be satisfied with such high quality bass of the Crossfade M80 headphones! :)

    No I have never used either of them with an amplifier. I use it with my iphone 5 or ipod and it sounds great to me. I remember seeing a video somewhere saying m100s don't have great yield with amps. With which player do you use the m100s? I used it with samsung s3 and the sound wasn't the best. Recently I got iphone 5 and I should say there is a lot of difference in the bass area.

    I've seen that a general consensus for headphones best suited for things like trance, house music, etc.. on sites like head-fi.org or Innerfidelity would be the Shure840's. You've probably made your choice already but there you go. On a side note, I think the Denon AH-D2000 is a great all around set of cans but I can't find em anywhere so I'm getting the V-MODA M100's instead.

    m80: very portable, excellent sound and excellent price. Balanced sound which is very true to life. Best headphones I've purchased and I use them every day.
    LP2: Increased bass and outside noise reduction. They are designed for DJing as they make the kicks and snares louder for easier beatmatching.

    Thanks for the nice review.
    I am an acoustic lover so a booming bass isn't needed for me. I was set on the LP-2 at first because it's over the ear, since I wear glasses I thought it would be more comfortable and also be more sound isolating.
    Which is more comfortable for glasses wearers over extended periods of time?
    With the M-80 being on ear how is it for others around you, do they hear it when the volume is higher?
    Or should I be looking at different headphones totally different?

    The M80 is what I chose after TONS of reading on various forums, deciding on a pair of portable headphones. The M80 gets very good reviews from everyone, far better than the LP which get a bad rap for being too bassy drownin out details. If I were to buy now it would be these or the new AKG167 Tiesto.

I have been using 20 dollar earpollution earbuds for the past few years but im finally upgrading to a nice pair of headphones. The lp2s you said had a good amount of bass but okay sound qaulity and the M-80s had some bass and good sound quality. With me i want a little of both, Which headphone would you recomend? You must have a serious thirst for bass. The M80 doesn't sound bass shy to be at all. I find it very interesting regarding bass and headphones because everyone seems to perceive it so differently. I like my bass and think it kicks ou the perfect amount. They aren't basshead stuff but still. I just think the M80s are really smooth yet relatively detailed headphones.
