The "hurt" everyone seems to be talking about is the clamping force of these headphones on your head. It provides a really good passive seal to block out ambient noise and makes the bass more impactful. You can stretch these a bit so that the clamping force is reduced. Just find a ball or something slightly wider than your head and place them on that overnight.
Hi Mate: I'm with V-MODA & B4 started the DJ Division with Pioneer developing all gear for 18 years. One thing many people are not aware of is the steel flex band allows you to rotate the cups because they bend. The new M-100 is what you really have to listen to. 10 awards in the last 6 months since it's been out and just got nominated for DJ Mag's headphone of the year. You'll be hearing a lot about this model.
because of the duel driver the sound seems to be equally distributed through all the frequency range and seems to stay at a constant as the volume goes up.
Welcome all to the new way of thinking.. Now you get to ask questions to the people at the TOP who design and build the kit you use.... now this IS looking after the customer.. BIG TIME!
damn it, (i haven't finished watching while writing this) but you made me question my decision of turning this down. LOL back to watching reviews again I guess.
Just got the Crossfade LP on Amazon @ £106 , really loiving these bass heavy monsters,I love these headphones so can imagine the m100 must be out of this world.
While the steel flex band is nice and all i would really appreciate if the headphones had a rotatable arm. The problem of having something that you have to stretch out is that once you let go of it, it goes back to the "resting" position. A rotatable arm, like on the Sennheiser HD 25, allows for a quick and easy way to quickly cue up your next track without having to put the entire headphone on your head.
Ellaskins, I am coming to the Uk all the way from Canada in Aug. Would love to see you and shake your hand for getting me interested in DJ'ing. Would be an epic part of my trip.
I really do love V-Moda headphones! The only gripe i have with them is that they don't have that rotatable arm which allows for one ear monitoring. I, like alot of other DJ's, like to have my headphones around the neck when i'm not using them. With a rotatable arm, i can just quickly flick that up to my ear and listen for the cue. The problem with V-Moda is that they don't have that, hence why i can't really use them for DJing!
Hey Wu, V-MODA stands by their product so much that they have an unprecedented 2 yr warranty as well as a life time program of 50% off after that. Who does that? No one LOL. BTW I was with Pioneer for 18 years. I love the company I helped create but these headphones sold me as being the next world standard.
I have to agree with you on that point. I have the Technic RP-DJ1200A. I love it because of the swing arm/rotatable arm. I guess i should try the V-Moda headphone and see if i can compromise
You missed the point. I was saying that i was wearing my headphones around the neck and then flick up on side to listen for the cue. I feel like it's such a hassle to put on the whole headphone when doing something so simple as just finding the cue. V-Moda headphones doens't have any rotatable arm on their headphones, hence why i think they're not suitable for DJing. If V-Moda made a headphone with rotatable arm,i'm sold! When it comes to the actual transition, then i can do what you suggested!
Hi Martin. Yes, tell you why: The new M-100 has won a record 10 awards in the last 6 months and just got nominated for DJ Mag's headphone of the year. Why? New dual 50mm driver patented engineering that's never been used making it a whole new listening experience. You'll be hearing a lot about this model.
Hi Philip: V-MODA has a 60 day, no questions asked, money back test drive guarantee so you can easily order it and try it. They also have the longest warranty in the industry..2 years plus immortal life program after that where you get a replacement for 50% off for whatever reason.
i ask to my self in 12.50 why you talk like that, and in 13.00 you explained that you have your little boy sleeping.... Damnnnn.... you can read my mind.... i have learn a lot... greeting from Indonesia...
I got a question for you regarding mids and highs. I mix alot of psytrance, where there is a lot of shifting melodies and when mixing, I need to be able to make out the different melodies from each track so that I will be able to hear in detail when I am doing the transition and from what I've heard, these headphones are more on the bass-heavy side. So the question is; Are they good enough when it comes to mixing melodies?
This headphones really looks good, but I'm wondering one thing .. What's about the isolation for DJing ?? I'm looking to buy new headphones soon, this one is in my top 3, just need more info about DJing with them to reach the first place, but never had the chance to try them. If you could help me about this point, would be awesome ! Thanks
love this video.. any questions? V-MODA is always around to ensure 6-star service and support! LOVE the red shields, jealous I don't have any! -VAL KOLTON CEO V-MODA
yea i agree with u , we need headphone of metal, sad 2 say a few years ago i saw u review the pioneer hdj 500 headphones, i got them cause i liked the side swivel but after 3 months they were done for i had 2 use super glue n tape 2 try 2 use them
What about the comfort when wearing it? A lot of ppl said these V-Moda headphones hurt a lot. Im still debating whether I should buy the M-100. I bought the LP a while ago, and it hurt realy bad. What is your opinion?
They look broadcasting standard quality and could end up in all radio stations. .. when they get to that state I dare say the price will quadruple. .. get them now before the price becomes ridiculous and you end up buying a name badge like monster or technics rather than a product
hey ellaskins, I am thinking of buying these and I have heard that because these are more DJ headphones they are bass heavy, so just wondering if this is true because if these are I will more likely buy them.
Hi, Isolation is great. Check out V-MODA's facebook photo album called #EyeSpyVMODA and you will see the 100s of DJs that have converted over this year after hearing the M-100. It's won 10 audio awards in the first 6 months and just got nominated for DJ Mag's headphone of the year. You'll be hearing a lot of the M-100 in coming months.
I've just recently got my first V-Moda headphones and after using them the first time for DJ'ing I noticed the cable is stuck into the headphones, the connection from the cable to the headphones themself. I tried twisting it in all different directions but I just can't seem to pull it out. Strange because I got it in there without a problem. Have you ever had this problem and know of a good solution?
+DJ JO3Y Q It got resolved, but it didn't get fixed... I took it back to the store (I only had it for a few days) and they got it out, but broke it off. So I walked out with a new pair. Take it back before you do damage yourself. If they break it, the only solution is to give you a new one.
+DJ JO3Y Q That sucks. Maybe you should contact customer service, they promote themself as having a 6 star service. So hopefully they can make that true.
Anyone know a good place to buy these cheap in the U.S.? They're still at full retail price which shows the demand is great, but I would like a pair for around $50-$70 USD free shipping.
True, but I don't think it would be worth it by then because there would be something better (probably by v-moda). But please, if you think not, let me know!
Most decent headphones are better than Beats. You are paying for a name not quality. normally $50-100 monitor headphones will give you much better sound than a $300+ pair of Beats. I personally use Sennheiser but there are many quality brands out there including V-Moda; just do some research your self and maybe listen to a few pares your friends have. Dont take any one opinion and always look up the facts before committing to any product to avoid getting burned on a purchase.

I like the way you do the appreciation video, very helpful.
Haha nice. Started watching your vids, and now you do a review on a set of headphones I've had since Christmas :D

I agree with you nearly 100%. Good review.
I think it wont be long b4 all companies will do the same!
i ask to my self in 12.50 why you talk like that, and in 13.00 you explained that you have your little boy sleeping.... Damnnnn.... you can read my mind.... i have learn a lot... greeting from Indonesia...

Nice review. And by the way, claen the lens of the camera.
Im sure they are good, but have you tried ath-m50? For the price, blew me away.
I can wear mine on one ear and rest the other side behind the ear for one ear monitoring. Not sure if that helps :)
Nice review, man!
This guy is epic

@ellaskins........nicely put by calling them "Musical Art"!!!!!!!
hey ellaskins, I am thinking of buying these and I have heard that because these are more DJ headphones they are bass heavy, so just wondering if this is true because if these are I will more likely buy them.
how do these sound compared to the psb m4u2? also from wales, south, merthyr tydfil
was mentioning HDJ 2000 headphones in comparison with those
what about hd25's?
Could you do a Review with the Beats by Dr. Dre Mixer ?
because lots of Dj 's have them
yeah cool, hope to hear what ya have to say
Yeah I think most DJs (including myself) don't really have a problem with pulling one cup off of one ear.
only if you want too
what do you think of the sennheiser amperiors if you dont mind me asking? do you think theres much of a difference between them and the hd25's?
Hello I have a vci 300 but I'm not sure if it is enough because I want to make some mixes as I heart at a club o radio can you help me with that
great review!
Jonathan ? those or the hdj 2000 ?

Did anyone else notice the cat or whatever jumping outside the window at 09:48 ? :P
Any words on AKG?

No comparison!
These vs. HD25?

Are They Better Than Beats
Anyone know a good place to buy these cheap in the U.S.? They're still at full retail price which shows the demand is great, but I would like a pair for around $50-$70 USD free shipping.
haha you could wait 3-5 years...
True, but I don't think it would be worth it by then because there would be something better (probably by v-moda). But please, if you think not, let me know!
if you're not looking to spend so much on headphones but still get great sound quality try the audio technica m50's or even the m40x
