Yeah, being said they see some really messed up stuff. Kids with cigarette burns at like 2-3 years old. Not saying getting blitzed is a good way to handle stress, it is what it is.
Letting the wasted cop have his gun on him in the processing room was insane, especially how he was talking. Those cops were morons for allowing such a dangerous situation to take place. All while kissing up to him, it’s disgusting.
Of course. She probably knew that cop personally, to see him on the side of the road drunk as hell must of surprised the fuck out of her. At least she did the right thing in the end though.
That's the first thing that came to mind. The kind of cop that 100% always smells drugs when he can't find anything on you, never just gives a warning and will always be like "sorry that's not up to me" when you ask for mercy, sympathy or just consideration.
It hurts to know that if this happened to a civilian, the cops, courts and DMV will do everything in their power to make sure you lose your job and your life is destroyed, yet they want preferential treatment when the roles are reversed. We truly do not all live by the same rules and laws.
i work in a courtroom 99% of dui’s dwi’s and ovi’s that come in leave with a suspended license and a mandated course no jail time outside of some time in a holding cell, like 400$ and whatever you spent on a lawyer take a class and you’re good to go. genuinely what are you speaking about and what are you basing this claim on because it’s blatantly untrue
can you explain the .233? in germany 0,2 is very low and you are allowed to drive with 0,5 but youll get a ticket anyway. maybe youre .233 is a 2,33 for us?
@@akacasascha3628I could be wrong but I bealive legally you need to blow around .04 to be able to drive and be in public so the officer in the video who blew .233 was around 5 times above the legal limit
@@akacasascha3628 That is correct. U.S. uses percent. Germany uses per mill. Everything below that lacks scientific reasoning. Edit: Staying below those values does not mean you cannot be charged with DUI btw, neither in Germany nor in a lot of U.S. states. If you exhibit signs of intoxication and have lower amounts of alcohol in your blood, you can be charged with DUI. Being above that just means you definitely will be.
i dont understand why they're always "so sorry" for each other. you have the rotten apple that people complain about right infront of you, just arrest them without remorse. this is beyond me

Well 1st time DUI is kindof lenient in most jurisdictions and the 2nd cop got the typical treatment (fines, DUI classes, etc.). Don't know the standards of the police but you might still be able to be a cop with one.
Until we start policing the police, we will remain victims. Go ahead and report any malfeasance or grievances you may have with your local law enforcement - they will laugh at you and tell you to get lost. Too many people are so fuckin blind.
I had 2 DUIs, and I’m not saying this because I think I should’ve been given a lenient sentence, but it really pisses me off how cops are allowed to do whatever with no repercussions. I’m grateful that I got the sentence I did (no one got hurt thank GOD) because tomorrow, Oct 4th, marks 2 years of sobriety!
@@neuberknight575 the field sobriety test is literally a trap. Lots of cops can’t even pass it sober. They are out to ruin your life, not rehabilitate. I only received rehabilitation when I joined a sober living community and thanks to my family and loved ones’ support.
absolutely disgraceful that the intoxicated supervisor had to tell her to cuff him because the victims were watching. all these arresting officers should be ashamed for their complacency. also, these 'slap on a wrist' charges these guys received hardly "obliterated their career"
It’s precisely because they know full well that there’s gonna be just a slap on the wrist for their superiors and that they will still have to work under them because of this leniency, that they dare not to apply law in a way they do it with ordinary citizens.
The charges yes, but is the cuffing always necessary ? I mean, isn't it just a way to make sure someone is not going to flee or be a danger or whatever ? I mean I get how it looks, but giving the context (which is always important), I don't think her supervisor posed any threat to their security, or was about to take off or whatever... Again, the leniant charges are a absolute shame, but the cuffing part I understand.
Of course he did. Can you imagine the corruption and the laws cops broke all the way up to murder, before body cameras were a thing? And they still turn body cameras off, "lose" the footage and refuse to release it. Laws need to be passed that if cops alter, obstruct, turn off or lose footage of body cameras then they should be charged with a felony. Haven't the American citizens had enough of the corruption and blatant criminality that infects law enforcement access the country?
In the "old days" aka pre 2000 cops gave a lot more leeway to just about everyone. I remember my senior year of high school in 1997. A bunch of us seniors that played football went to a big field party. I was in a car with a few other guys and 2 girls and we were all crammed in there. We got pulled over at like 2 am. We had all drank a few beers despite being underage. I was still 17 along with a few others and 2 guys were 18. The cop saw beer cans in the back seat. Made us all get out and he dumped the beer on the side of the road. Asked where we were going. We told him to the one guy Chris's house which was actually 1/2 mile away tops. He told us to get out asses there and stay inside the rest of the night. We drove away and he followed us to the house then drove away. That would never happen today.
It’s hard to determine who’s more corrupt in these, the officers being arrested, or the officers letting them get away with so much. All three of them received special privileges so disgustingly unfair.
Don't forget the DA's and Judges that let them off with a slap on the wrist when Joe Average would be looking at up to a year and jail and about $10,000 in fines and legal fees.
What 30dys suspension no court date lost licence thats it?? How dangerous still having his gun on him and uncuff him...in his frame of mind seriously stupid stupid
I was expecting a harsh penalty, beginning with firing from the police department. They're all still on the job. I thought these cops "obliterated" their careers? What a click bait title.
That last one clearly gives an interesting insight into the lawless wild west within some police departments. Where do you run to where do you go…? The Gun Shop it would seem…. ❤😮🎉😮😅😊😅😅❤🎉🎉😊😮😮😢😊😅😅😅😅
Jesus Christ Jerry times a hundred. Wow, he's acting like it's his fault and minimizing his actions. How dare he put his fellow officers in jeopardy. Shame on him. He has no right to wear a badge.
" How dare he put his fellow officers in jeopardy" No, how dare he put every other road user in jeopardy. Why can't he go to jail? He's a drunk arsehole, and he NEEDS to be in jail, to protect the rest of us.
But he was taking chili up to Jerry's place. Ole Jerry was in a pickle, he knew he had to do something and he even called someone while he was conveniently out of ear shot range. Shame on you Jerry.
Yeah Jerry, help him. Do your damned job and treat him as you would anyone else. You were drunk, pulled over, completely unconscious in the driving seat of a car. As she said, you got there somehow. Well done young lady.
All I hear is "I don't wanna do this" YOU SHOULD WANT TO DO THIS. Terrifying for normal people when psychopaths and enablers run our protection services
"It's not like the old days." Just think of how much corruption must have took place before body cams. Even with body cams, the amount self entitlement is disgusting.
I had a cop arrest me and literally lie about everything that happened in a police report back in 2013. I figured since I had my DUI recorded ten years prior in the next town over, that the interaction would of been recorded as well. However it wasn't or so they claim. His buddies just laughed, stole my phone too make sure it wasn't recording, and it was just my word against 3 cops and at the time so I didn't have a chance in court and was forced to basically plea to something I wasn't guilty of. At least today people are finally believing that a lot of cops can't be trusted on their word alone.
It always baffles me how polite and nice they treat other cops when they are obviously messed up. Why is this same courtesy not extended to the general public? Cops should be held to a higher standard, no one is above the law.
coworkers tend to understand each other better compared to the general population which can compromise like thousands of faces you wont recognize constantly. it's usual in just about every field.
That first sheriff expecting this young woman to throw her entire career away for him is disgusting. And that man that came on the scene, he was trying to find a way out. He was trying to work around. He’s equally as disgusting.
Exactly. That 2nd sheriff kept silent, letting the junior cop take the pressure - he knows him not backing her up verbally makes her have to keep guessing what HE expects, not just that that comatose sheriff is also a most senior colleague. Not to mention the 2nd sheriff probably used his private mobile to "consult" someone AND went out of earshot of the young officer to have that conversation.
@@argosz8046 He literally told the guy he was creating a situation and throwing it at her feet. He backed her up more than he did himself, given that he didn't even respond to the begging when it was directed at him. Imagine having to be the one to order the destruction of an old friend's career, of course he wasn't eager about it? The fact he didn't defend him should be all we could ask for, far more than what most cops bother to do.
the last cop was actually horrifying. i have no idea how he got away with putting his hand on his weapon and threatening others in the middle of a police station
its amazing how much patient they have all of the sudden when its one of their own, then they are so understanding and be so chill, like its okay when they do it but they have to charge them, they have to, they do not want to, they have to.
the first one really pissed me off. ''she's got to take you in'' while he points to the camera. oh so she isn't taking him in because he broke the law and was a danger to traffic? the way they NEVER would've treated a civilian this way. horrible.
That female officer needs to be fired! She needed "personal space" from the VICTIM'S cigarette smoke, then stood right next to "Bertie" while he smoked. Then, she wasn't even going to cuff him! Preferential treatment, much?! She clearly has a bias, and all of her cases need to be reviewed for fairness!
Yes!!! That case made me sooo pissed off out of all of them!! Because it had me thinking that regardless of whether or not her supervisor was involved, she most likely treats certain individuals a particular way which is extremely F-ed up! That kid had his car totaled by a drunken FOOL and she couldn't even muster up an ounce of sympathy or understanding. She stood so far away she might as well have been on the other side of the road. People like her probably shouldn't be cops in the first place, or should take a lot of courses in ethics, diversity, if that would even help...
The way that female officer spoke to the other driver was sickening, it shows how little they think of the citizens they are supposed to protect and serve, she was also fully on her friend Bertie's side before other officer came. It all makes you wonder just how many drunk cops do get away with it when their backing the blue.
My old neighbor was a cop and his daughter totalled her car right in front of my house driving drunk and guess who was the officer on scene, and guess who didn't get arrested that night.... Definitely happens
I respect the officer who made her cuff him. “Yes you are because they are watching” that definitely saved her from botching the entire thing. She treated the victims so wrong, I hope she got sat down and trained on how she conducted herself
It really angers me how even when they arrest each other they refuse to put hand-cuffs on the offender. What makes them so special? They are supposed to SERVE the public, yet are always perfectly happy to cuff people in an instant.
What's horrifying is how Jerry totally would have his friend get away with it if he could have. Bodycam footage was the only thing stopping him from letting his drunk driving friend off the hook.
It's horrifying but tbh it's more horrifying realizing most people are human and would let their best friend go as well if they were in the same situation. Doesn't make it right, but it is the human condition.
I know how it probably looks bad on Jerry, but I think anyone will help a close friend try to get out of trouble, even when they've made a mistake. I know I'd be tempted to, and I think you would to. I think you should try to reserve judgement here on Jerry, especially considering he did the right thing even with the position he was in. Jerry is a top guy in my book.
The worst thing is the drunk officers were not only treated differently, but even with body cam footage, they pretty much got away with it. Kept their jobs! That female cop on the second arrest straight up lied to the victim. 'We only take photos at DUI's'. 30 seconds later. 'I'm uncomfortable Bertie. Looks like I'll have to do a DUI investigation'. What exactly did she learn in those 30 seconds that changed her mind? She should have lost her job, or at least been suspended without pay.
And then she straight up refused to cuff Bertie even after he had to remind her "they're watching" TWICE. It's staggering how confident they feel behaving with such corruption and bias straight to their bodycams. I honestly don't even want to know what they got up to before now because I'm positive it's horrifying.
I love that the first officer seems to deliberately hold the breathalyzer numbers up to her body cam. That was an awfully smart move because I got the strong impression from that Jerry guy that he was inclined to overlook the whole thing if he had thought there was a way to. In a couple of decades everyone who advanced their careers without camera accountability will hopefully be gone along with the expectation that they could get special treatment. There will always be some corruption, but it certainly helps.
@@GrumpyIan Yeah, he certainly should have got way worse, at least sheriff is an elected position. A cop asking another cop to let them off on a crime is the most disgusting think I can think of. If the officer let him go the officer could lose their job and face charges, especially if he kills someone! Don't drink and drive, it is so simple.
As a citizen, I whole-heartedly agree. I'm not an "all cops are bad" kind of guy. I just like to see the corrupt ones go down. There's TONS of great professional police officers. But these guys who think they can drink/drive and stuff and just get let off the hook for having a bad day is insane.
As a retired police officer. You probably never pulled over a drunk police officer. But I bet you knew of many that drank an drove in your presence. They have cop bars. Some I have seen hammered and get in a car with the cops are still in the bar drinking. They all knew when he left he was going to drive. But as long as they didn’t witness it every thing is cool. They purposely close their eyes . Not saying that’s you. You seem like a cool guy. I know with all the laws on the books. Know matter who you are you will brake the law. It a matter of degree how bad of a criminal you are. John Stossel did a huge story on this. You can look it up. The amount of laws we have all the books would fill a large library from floor to ceiling. So in the eyes of the law, we are all criminals.
Basically that first convo could be summed up like this… “I had a bad day please let me go.” We can’t let you go because ppl hold us accountable now that there’s body cameras and transparency, otherwise, we totally would let you go and give you special privileges of above law status like we used to do.
He Still didn’t get held accountable! That was bullshite charges he got. Know what a person Normally gets for DUI or OVI , wtf ever they call it…. Ridiculous.
Back before Mother's Against Drunks Drivers lobbied for stricter DUI laws it was extremely common for police to do nothing for any DUI. I understand that you are a cop hater and have internal bias that you are unable to look past, but that is what he was referring to.

The fact the 2nd one told the officer to cuff him bc they're watching and the first one only did it because the cameras "aren't like the old days" is so insane. I'm so grateful the importance of body cams have stopped cops from putting themselves above the law.
If you really want a mind f*ck think about this, police are the ones who makes sure the law is respected but even between them before the body cams they made an exception between them, now think about it in a way high level, political one, how many cases exist up there where they are linked with gangs, cartels, trafficking and not only drugs but the one about alive beings too... those guys are literally untouchable, just see who were the ones going to the private island of kids and how no one is in jail or had a proper investigation towards them, being in the government doesn't magically makes you a saint or pure so only between them they know how much they cover themselves

People have been saying for years that the police are corrupt and nobody wanted to listen. What's truly scary is how even body worn cameras don't seem to give them pause.
And of course not all cops are but the issue is that there is corruption in the system and that is where the lack of trust comes from and the big issue is policing is different state to state hell even county to county so it would be extremely difficult to rid the corruption. Something worth mentioning is that though it's common for police to handcuff detained/arrested individuals, it's not always the case. I've been arrested and detained around 20 times now and I'm almost never in handcuffs. Presentation, communication and cooperation are critical factors for both citizens and officers to handle police encounters. The onus isn't only on the police, it's also on the individual(s) involved.
I love how in the second one the officer who is handling the victim who just got rear ended tells the victim to step away because he reeks of cigarette smoke but goes back over to her drunk officer and chats with him while he smokes a cigarette right next to her.

Of course he did. Can you imagine the corruption and the laws cops broke all the way up to murder, before body cameras were a thing? Yep. In the old days, they would just get him a sober ride home, get his car to his house, and let him sleep it off at home. No record of the stop.

It a matter of degree how bad of a criminal you are. John Stossel did a huge story on this. You can look it up. @@edwinlee2343 It ain't biased or hate if he's telling the truth. The things that went under the rug within the police departments were rampant before body cams, and still are to a certain extent just not as open as it was back then wether to save the image of the police from local/national news or just plain buddy buddy. Hence why that one cop twiddling his thumbs say's "it's not like the old days". The stories that went on back then would shock any rational person. Cops are needed in society, but it's no secret they get more of a special treatment by their own blue to cover for them compared to a regular citizen in certain situations.

I honestly see no issue with police not handcuffing people they know that aren’t armed that aren’t aggressive or defensive. Handcuffing people that don’t need to be cuffed can definitely make situations worse
@@Jc-dc2jg Yes, but that realistically doesn't happen. You get cuffed just for doing a crime. It could be simple theft and you'll be in handcuffs. But officers get special treatment just because.

I was laughing so hard at that bertzik guy crying over a DUI😆
#2 - At 14:00 "we don't take pictures unless there's a DUI involved" apparently only applies to citizens and not drunk ass cops.
When you're a kid an your dream is to be a police officer it's because you want to protect the innocent and put ba guys in jail from the innocent mind of a child, somewhere along the way that changes and I would think it's somewhere along the road once they become an officer.
Yes, I know people who have become officers, and were great initially, then eventually they change into that "police" state of mind...actually, I know people who have become officers, and liked them better/trusted them more before they became an officer...similarly, I know people who have become preachers/ministers, and again, I liked them better/trusted them more before they became a minister...yeah, cops and preachers...@@FSMusicLTD
Everytime that first guy said "Jesus Christ" i hit him back with the same thing but in the voice of Mike Servin. JESUS CHRIST! 🤣🤣

“Are you on?” he literally asked if she was recording to see if he could get away with it because of his connection to the officer!!! It is repulsive how these ‘supervisors’ and other officers act when they’re caught!
What she MEANT was "You're BLACK! Could you please step back?"
It seems like the kind of thing they say and do when they're trying to pin someone as "being aggressive" as an excuse to charge them with something. It's almost as though it's a reflex for her, she can't help treating him like a criminal even when he's a victim. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the color of his skin had something to do with it too.
They were also texting each other so it wouldn't show up on the cam. I seen the full version of this and it's disgusting.
@@Princess201234in the UK "are you on" when asked of a woman means something entirely different.

In the video they, unfortunately, explained that none of them did. 30 day suspension after a DUI with a loaded, automatic MP7, threatening an officer and having loaded service weapon on him through the whole process. A fucking joke to be honest
The detective is threatening another cop. Hate to think what he does to civilians.
Exactly, we definitely have a three-tiered judicial system. One for the wealthy or influential, one for cops and the hammer of justice for the rest of us..
They just go to work in another town
It's abused on a dailt basis by a large majority of officers they just get away with it quietly. These are the rare cases they had to be held accountable.
It’s so unsettling to watch the last clip, that K9 officer and his team had serious issues for uncuffing that drunken and armed SWAT officer…. They are putting everyone in the station at risk!
Imagine a COP apologizing to a DRUNK CIVILIAN as that cop did to that drunk officer. To all those people who say it's just a few bad apples, that most cops are good and just. If that doesn't show their real fucking attitude. She was one of the good officers, and she apologized for arresting a man who very much deserved it. Imagine what an even mediocre officer would have done.
I genuinely feel bad for the first officer because she knew whe was in a bad spot no matter which way it went. If she takes him in fellow officers won't trust her anymore, but it she doesn't her career would be torched and she'd end up in jail.
That being said, if he was a civilian they wouldn't care about his sob story, nor would they hesitate for a second to arrest him. No matter how blatant or subtle, corruption is corruption.
If you're in the club, you're in the club, yeah? And if shit happens, make sure all the outsiders see it, show 'em we're just like 'em, yeah? Now do whatcha gotta do.

I’d have given him a 90-day suspension just for his entitled attitude.
It's frightening to think how many cops got away with far more serious offences before bodycams. No doubt these 3 would have been taken home and tucked into bed by their buddies if no cameras were used.
U should have seen what things happened in the 70's & mid-80's. Sheriff offices were run like Mafioso.
The officers that "processed" Joe should be reprimanded... They put every officer in the house in jeopardy by allowing him to have that side arm.
Last guy should have felony charges for threatening an officer with a deadly weapon. Unquestionable double standard for cops.
It's been a bad day Jerry 😂
Amazing how compasionate they are when a cop is a drunk driving, and openly on a bodycam because they know they will just delete it if they feel like it, no screaming at him and shaming him for what he did, only thing they find wrong is that a cop put them in the situation, no concern for what the situation actually is
As bad as these are i bet 90% of tims the do you know who I am works, the camera footage disappears and the world is a more dangerous place
