It's wonderful that your library has taken the time to personalize reading selections for you! I read Lisa Jewell's newest book, The Family Upstairs. It was so good I purchased Watching You. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Then She Was Gone!
You and I are thousands of miles away. Probably, we'll never meet in person. But I really want that to happen. I have been following you for two years, and I can proudly say that some of my favourite books were out of your recommendations. I just want to say that I love you. Not just like a fan, but the kind of love a person does when he's indeed very fond of someone. Thank you, Helene. You gave me the biggest gift of my life - a quality! A quality of being a more refined reader, a more cultivated person. I wish I could kiss your hand right now and express my gratitude. -- Hussain
it's so great that your library is doing this! those books sound like they have some potential. can't wait until we can all go back to our libraries again :)
Aw I wish my library did something like this, that is a wonderful idea. Here in Hamburg libraries are already open again or are going to open this week, but browsing the books with a mask will definitely not be as fun as without it. Enjoy your new books and tell us what you think about the Starless Sea please, I want to read that one, too :)
Such a fun idea for your local library to put together books for you. A few of my local bookshops are doing something similar. A friend just gave me the Lisa Jewell you received, I'm going to start it this weekend, hopefully we both enjoy it!

Hi Helene, what a great initiative! I only read “The Starless Sea” and I loved it 5⭐️ hope you love it too! Sending my love from Portugal 🇵🇹
This was fun! The library in our neighbour city puts such a package together if you're not sure what to order, but you can also order the titles of your choice.
That was fun! That's great news, Helene, that your library is active again and has these bags of surprises. So far nothing is going on at my local library but I was able to loan my next-door neighbor some of my own books. Two days ago at a Little Free Library a few miles from me (I've had to be all over the place even with the lockdowns and such) I took the novel "Snow Angels" by Stewart O'Nan ("A thriller of the heart..."); "Traveling Mercies---Some Thoughts on Faith" by Anne Lamott and "Home Town" by Tracy Kidder, a non-fiction book about a small town in New England here in the U.S. I'm finishing the memoir "Dead End Gene Pool" by Wendy Burden and it will go into the Little Free Library down the street from me. Some people in my town have closed their Little Free Libraries but other L.F.L.s seem to be extra busy and have more books than usual.
I ordered a similar mystery package from a bookstore here in the USA. Still waiting to receive it and see what I got! I read Then She Was Gone when it came out and really enjoyed it.
Lisa Jewell is a great author of thrillers. The Family Upstairs is her most recent and was really good. I have also read I Found You by her and it's good too.
Ever read "Good omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett ?? Its One of My favourites.Oh and did you ever get around to reading The Count of Monte christo by Alexandre Dumas ?? What did you think of it ??
@@helenejeppesen2133 Its on my top five. When I was finished reading it I wish Dumas had written a second book, because Edmond Dantes/Monte Christo is so interesting a character. Good Omens is the same. Gaiman and Pratchett are so Good att quirky and excentric characters and stories. Other favourites I recommend are Treasure Island by R.L. Stevenson, if you havent read it already, I know you Love a Good classic (as do I). Another book I feel thats underated is Ray Bradburys "Something wicked this way comes". Everybody just reads/recommends Fahrenheit 451 by him it seems. Thats a pity, he is a good author. A favourite of recent years is "Kamikaze Girls" by Novala Takemoto, and "The Raven Boys" (four Book series) by Maggie Stiefvater. I personally plan to reread Good Omens. And Ive ordered ""The Diary of a bookseller" because you made it sound so good. Then Im going to see IF I can get ahold of the books the "Master and Commander" movie are based off of, and maybe Ill throw some Isaac Asimov in the mix!! : ) sorry Om just rambling on......
This is such a great initiative from your library! Wish mine did it too. Enjoy!

My local library has been doing this! But here we get to choose the book and then collect the bag. Thanks to the library for saving me 😄
I really enjoy Lisa Jewell’s novels. They aren’t all thrillers but always at least a bit of mystery. Great character development in her books! Enjoy!

What a fun idea from your local library! Ours are still closed here in the United States. Are you able to access library books on your ereader?
Linda B. Yes! Unfortunately, their ebooks don’t work on a Kindle so I have to read them on my computer - which is harder on the eyes 😬
Zeus wants to know where his books are.🐈
6. And Then She Was Gone
5. Crazy Rich Asians
4. The Woman in the Mirror
3. The German Girl
2. The Man Who Didn't Call
1. The Starless Sea

Sentimental Circus No, I haven’t read any of these - though “The Count” is laughing at me from my shelves 😬

The German girl is great. The author is from Cuba. Happy reading!
