That little wooden box with the rubber band around it was a James Avery, I believe. I almost had a heart attack when you didn’t open it. He is a famous silver maker in the Hill Country of Texas. Some of his pieces are worth a small fortune!
I came here to say the same thing! I want to know what’s in the box!!! Even if it was empty, the box is still worth $50+!
omgOSH! LOL. I was thinking the same thing! that's james avery! i wonder if there was anything in the box. my discontinued necklace that i bought back when is worth $600 now.
Same!! I've never seen a wooden box before. Everything is packaged in boxboard now. I'd think that box is desirable to a James Avery collector.❤
I learned this trick in a studio pottery group........
To identify signatures / marks..........instead of a rubbing, use flour. Dust and press into the signature / any marks, and then tap the extra off. White flour against dark pottery really helps highlight any incisions, and reading signatures can become a lot easier.
For LIGHT colored pottery, use cinnamon the same way.
Afterward, just rinse off with water. Use an old toothbrush for any flour / cinnamon caught in the grooves.
Thx much! ❤
Cant You just sand the burn mark away?
Wasp trap just add sweet liquid, fruit fly add vinegar and a few drops of dish washing liquid
The stamps are for printing on leather sheep skins
That is not a Scandinavian Reindeer it is a Yule Goat that the Tomte rides at Christmas.
I love your taping technique: smooth, slow , steady , easy to enjoy each time. You remain my favorite.
Regarding the small needle work cat ornament in the beginning of the video: I have the same exact one. I worked for Pan Am and went to Europe a few times for long weekends. Since I traveled light, I would bring back Christmas ornaments, especially cat ornaments. My tree is covered with cats and special travel memories. The cat I believe I purchased in Amsterdam around 1973. She still hangs on my tree! ❤
The straw 'reindeer' is in fact a Christmas goat - the elves/tonttu ride them! I live in Finland and they come in many sizes, tiny to hang on a tree, or larger as centre piece etc. We also have door wreaths made of the same straw, with additional red ribbon. 😊
❤
Hi! The “Scandinavian reindeer” is actually a GOAT! It’s a traditional Christmas symbol/decoration in Sweden called a Julbocken (with a story behind it, of course!)
😊💙🇸🇪💛
that is a swedish christmas goat! dates back to pagan times. The elves who delivered gifts rode goats...
Yes, it's a Yule Goat. The Gavle goat is a giant version.
The goats probably ate all the gifts so they switched to reindeer.
Right! A yule goat!
I found the same oil lamp at a goodwill in Arizona. We didn’t know what it was other than it being absolutely beautiful. We keep it in our bathroom where we put a plant cutting coming out of each hole and it has ended up being a very beautiful and unusual vase. Now that I know what it really is, I may have to use it for what it is actually meant to be!
You can generally find glass wick replacements online quite reasonably.
I would display the little animal stamps in a printers drawer and hang it on the wall. Easy access and beautiful conversation piece!
Love your shows! Your blue pottery lamps are raku: the firing technique intentionally creates that black craquelure/crazing. It's a look that became trendy in the late '80s-'90s. No dirt, no need to clean! 😊 Thanks for your work!
Your "scandinavian reindeer" is actually a "julebukk" (yule goat) and a tradition that goes back to the vikings :)
Is julebukk Danish or Norwegian? In Swedish it's "julbock". 😊
It's not a Scandinavian reindeer, it's a Swedish straw goat! It's actually so typically Swedish, so one town, Gävle, every year makes an enormous one for Christmas. And every year someone burns it down... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%A4vle_goat
Those stamps are everything! They would look amazing displayed in a vintage letterpress tray/shadowbox hung on the wall! I also love the pair of lamps! Can't wait to see them with shades on.
Just me, but those stamps are so special and so pretty the way they are (with no paint / ink on them) that I would never want to ruin them with stains. I would just display them. Or even maybe frame them in a shadow box.
RE: the two lamps that match, but are marked with different prices.......
When I have found identical items (such as coffee cups that are exactly the same, etc) that are priced differently....I show the cashier / manager and ask for the lower price to be applied to all matching items. So far, they have always done that for me.
Give it a try!
Our local Goodwill won't do that - I've tried on multiple occasions!!

UGH. Bummer!
The Goodwill's in my State that I visit look so bad. The aisles are junked up with no order and nothing comparing to this. You lucked out where you are.
I love candles, but I always worry about kitties and open flame candles. I had two kitties that had incidents with candles and tails. Luckily, I was there when it happened. 🙀😾
The first wood box you picked up around the 11:30 mark is from James Avery it’s a Texas jewelry company. Those are worth a bit of money
I found the same Wolfard oil lamp at a local thrift store! Mine is a little bit taller but I was blown away when I looked it up, such a cool find!
Those lamps have a patina. Please don’t rub it all away! The artist might be an interesting person. Are you going to research the potter? Also, use taller lampshades not cone style. The taller ones will balance out the base. When are you going to do another closet share? I remember that you did one before! Please do another one! Thank you so much!
The wood box with JA on it is James Avery, a Texas jewelry designer! Having lived there I have many pieces.
You could make a mobile with the stamps. Put a small eye screw in each top and string them
You are lucky; in Long Island; NY we don’t have such good good will
Thank you for your awesome videos!
The Scandinavian straw animal is not a reindeer but a goat - Julbock.
The Wolfard oil lamps I believe came in 3 sizes. I just found two about 3 months ago for $2.50 for both. Sold them both as a set within 3 days for a very good profit.
Ooo! Add little magnets to the awesome animal stamps ❤ great find!
Exactly... that would be awesome 😎😎😎
Love my favorite LEFT COAST GIRL!! 🧡🧡🧡my pup Ringo was so excited that he made your Rose City /LC Flea video. He now has bragging rights and the ladies are eating up his fame!😂😂🧡🧡
The little wooden box with the JA candle motif on it, is a jewelry box from James Avery! Very expensive should’ve picked it up!
I saw that too!
I'm a Texas girl and have a large collection of James Avery.
There is a glass insert to hold the wick for the oil lamp and a tinly funnel with a neck that bends to add the oil into the side of the lamp. I got one for a wedding present over 30 years ago.
To display small " treasures " i wall mounted a wooden jewellery drawer insert ,it's full of holiday souvenirs from my kids( now adults ) 😅
My Goodwill stores don’t look like this one. They are not this CLEAN and ORGANIZED. Love your adventures!
The lamps were pricey when my mom bought them in the 70s. She still has them.
He is not a reindeer, he is an old goat. He delivers present at Christmas
You got a Scandinavian ram for xmas
I liked what appeared to be a copper horse on a pedestal stand at 5:35. I don’t know if it was genuine copper or not, but it was pretty! The blue and white leaf dish stamped ‘Bombay, Made in China’ baffled me. The Bombay Company was very popular in the 1980s. They used to have stores in the mall here in Florida. They were my favorite stores! But they are a Canadian-based company, and no longer have retail stores in the U.S. The leaf dish you picked up appeared to be from their Blue Tile line (I have a tea set in Blue Tile). Just wondering if the company manufactured in China?🤔
I nearly jumped off my chair when I saw that horse! 😮
Hi Laura, I find it so interesting to see your picks. Makes me realize how many great things I must have missed.
I LOVE those lamps!
And the stamps. I wuld use them on fabric to make a one of a kind curtain and then display them as an artpiece.
Michelle will love her donkey.
Thank you for always the fun times XXX
I NEED that pineapple! I’m going to start looking for one. Talk about a needle in a haystack. 😂
I loved that Scandanavian tiled board and would have tied some twine around the neck to hide that burn mark
Always love your presentations. That is a Scandinavian Christmas goat, not a reindeer
Wow the little green pottery with the painted roses was beautiful ❤❤❤
The donkey is my favorite because it's so unique.
Love it all but he's sooo cute!
The lamps with Linem lamp shades would look nice.
I absolutely love the stamp collection and agree that they should not be tucked away in a drawer - shelving for miniature pieces would help display them and show them off, highlighting the unique beauty that they possess in their simplicity. ❤ Laura - you are a joy to watch!
Look for a printers box; antique wooden boxes
Its always fun to watch your videos.
I dont know if someone already mentioned to you about the reindeer actually being a goat. Its popular in Sweden. You can find more information about it online under Swedish Yule Goat. I thought it was a reindeer until my swedish mother in law told me it was a yule goat.
I love the pineapple fruitfly trapp.. put some apple vinegar in it... works like a charm. No need for expensive liquid anti fruitfly stuff...
And for the little stamps... use a letter tray to put them on te wall
The animal stamps are my favorite item you have ever found. Don't drill them, or tie on ribbons, or glue magnets to them! Use them! Someone created them to be used as stamps! SO special! Maybe create a critter table cloth? Or stamp fabric or a frame?
My favorite are the carved animals from the estate sale.
Hey, I found one of those dansk Denmark wooden ice buckets today at a garage sale for 10.00 dollars! I was in shock! I couldn’t believe that I actually found one!
A mauve ceramic rain chain and a mudman. Oh I wish I was there
Love watching your channel. I think your reindeer looks more like a Billy goat or a ram 😂
Those carved stamps from India remind me of something used to stamp fabrics, like silk. They would look so nice on display. Super cool.
I think the antique stamps would look beautiful displayed in an old shadow box like the ones that held letters for typesetting.
love your channel and your depth of knowledge. i'd love to see how you clean and prep and prep your finds for your home or resale.
Those lamps would be perfect with drum shades....
Love all your finds!! So amazing! Wish my Goodwills had so much to pick from. I think I need to go into the city. Fyi, that little wooden box at 11:30 was from James Avery jewelry, sells for about $40-50!
I would have grabbed those lamps too. They’re fantastic!
Put small magnets on the back of the animal stamps and arrange them on a framed magnetic board that could be hung. That way you could always use them and have them displayed. I love your videos!
The tall lamps are definitely raku
You can remove the brown area by scrubbing with Ajax cleanser or barkeepers friend. But potters often leave the smoky quality because it show a the smoking process of raku…😅
The stamps would look good in a shadow box too.
Omg! Those lamps are just so beautiful! Everything you get is always amazing...❤❤❤
With those stamps maybe velcro them with like that commando tape . Then you could display on the wall or a frame with them in it
I like drum shades on tall lamps. You could use museum wax to stick the stamps to a rustic board. Also wanted to thank you for introducing me to Bitossi. Bought my first one this summer!
I'm still searching for my Bitossi. Congrats on finding one.
Thank you. She’s beautiful
Problem is it's permanent - but I immediately thought you could put a teeny tiny screw eyes in the tops of the stamps, thread through some red ribbon and hang them on your Christmas tree!
To mount as 3D art - I'd use command strips cut to size ❤
More fantastic finds, Laura. I know I say it a lot, but your camera work is superb and very much appreciated 😊❤
Thanks so much! 😊
I found that same Wolf glass pc at my Goodwill a few months ago!! I think I paid 3.99!
oh my goodness 🤦🏻♀️ I have found Wolfard oil lamps and always leave them on the shelf thinking that they are some kind of IKEA thing 😂😂 I’m glad I watched this video 🎉 My favorite thing you showed were the art deco handles on that furniture piece, as that is my favorite decor style ❤
They looked to be bakelite! Bonus points!
@@crystalsdance ♥️♥️🎉
The stamps would look nice in a printers tray on the wall.
Rebecca Robeson has quite a few of those Wolfard glass lamps , she uses them with her Christmas decor ! Beautiful !
8:30 pull the higher price tag off and say it didn't have a price tag on it. and they'll just scan the lower price lamp twice
The lamps were my favorites! Can't wait to see the shades you pick. For the stamps, I would put them in a glass jar with some shredded paper filler and you would always be able to see them & they would never get dirty.
Awesome haul! Have I told you before (a hundred times or more?) that you are waaayyyy my favorite thrifting CZcamsr?
I love everything you found. I look forward to seeing you style them sometime after the London trip.😊
I love the stamps. They would be nice displayed in a small printers tray style thing on the wall.
I loved the oil lamp and the stone vase. I'm obsessed with Christmas ornaments and those are all so cute! I love Jovanino! He also reminds me of Eeyore, from Winnie the Pooh. When you said "aluminium Christmas tree" it jolted me back to a tree we had (probably in the 70's) that was aluminium. Can't wait to see your tree decorated.
Look out for glassy baby candle holders! Hand blown glass and the most recent one I have found I found at a garage sale for only $.50 and I could resell it for $60
Glassybabies are not her jam. Not what she is selling. I think they are over priced and boring for what they are🤷♀️
Have you given us a complete tour of your house ??? I would love to see how you decorated it.. And what have you done with the "little Italy" balcony??? Thanks.🐦🦋🌹
I have just started watching your lovely videos. I love your energy and enthusiasm. ! I am learning so much about thrift stores and what treasures they hold. Your a gifted designer. I can't begin to grasp what it takes to make a plain and simple room come alive with color and shape . I am watching, watching ,one video at a time.🤩😃
I love the lamps and the stamps❤❤❤❤
Loved the lamps…one of my spare bedrooms is called the Roadrunner bedroom, thus decorated in SW. would look so pretty in the room…
Those hand carved stamps and the little donkey are so cute! And those lamps…. 😍
I always love watching your videos. I have learned so much from all the knowledge you have and share with us. Thanks so much.
I loved watching everything you got and the end part with the stamps was a great find I'd use them as draw knobs or create like a shadow box there so awesome I loved the donkey you got I have a kangaroo that my mum brought me back from Australia were iam from so I always treasure it thanks for sharing as always ❤❤❤ oh and congratulations to everyone going on the trip what a blessing iam still saving so one day 🙏😊❤
Loved the little donkey for your friend. Also the hand blown oil lamp. Great find.
I would find a way to turn those stamps into pendant necklaces or brooches. They’re just too good! Also, love the drippy lamps!
My favorite would be a toss-up of the blue lamps and the blue candles. 😊
It is a toss up for me between the oil lamp and the stamps. I like your idea of displaying them in a bowl.
You mentioned the pineapple would be part of your party. I thought a raffle would be fun and proceeds to a charity. Even a drawing for a favorite charity. Last year’s Tiki party looked like a blast , and so creative.
I love the lamps a great find. Can’t wait to see the shades you choose.
Maybe you find a deep frame or shadow box where you can put/store the indian stamps and hang them to a wall.
You will need the glass stem wick (easy and inexpensive to find) for the oil lamp. Oh and I would love to see videos of you making arts and crafts!
I am obsessed with Jovanino and the one from the estate sale! So adorable.
I think rectangle shades will be best for the lamps vs standard triangle or cone shaped ones
Good morning Laura happy Saturday morning and happy weekend and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter
I love the donkey! My favorite! ❤
Love your stamps and tree ordaments.
Yay, "Needle"! I am very behind watching these, and I just commented on the video where these were bought! I see I'm not the only one with a crazy sense of humor! They are stunning!
LOVE the stamps and the vintage fabric (felt?) Christmas ornaments. We used to have some like them that belonged to my mother. So colorful & pretty!
Loved the black and white pottery just before the square space ad!
Just a suggestion for displaying the stamps. You could get a wooden boat/ark and stand them on and round it.
Just as you were hoping no one would chalk pain the art deco piece, I was hoping you don't alter those adorable little stamps!! I hope you find some stamping use for them!! They're amazing.
