I love this video! Thatâs one of the questions I always ask too when picking up fantasy romance! I need a great plot to keep me interested but also tension and slow burn in romance thru the plot with likable, interesting characters. There are a few series I read where the spice is minimum but the plot is so good that I was ok with less spice (Shattered kingdom, Among shadows, The remnant chronicles as examples, great books) âŠThe never king was so smutty but it didnât do anything to me, zero! Broken bonds, I love the story but the romance/spice didnât do much to me ether but I like the overall story and characters interactionsâŠA king so cold, Savage lands, these were great to me, loved the spice in both seriesâŠTo snap a silver stem, not a lot of spice but what it has was so enough †And I love FBAA, ACOTAR, the amount of tension and spice was perfect to me in these series and funâŠoh my, thatâs a long comment, I could go on and on on this topicâŠthank you for the video!

From Blood and Ash was my intro to spicy fantasy romance and it is still my favorite. So excited for the next one I pre-ordered to come next month. 10/10
LOVE this, most of these are either on my TBR already, or books I've already read. ACOTAR is what opened my eyes to fantasy romance and is my favourite series of all time. Also, The Bonds that Tie series is my favourite RH ever! Can't wait to get to the final book in December đ

My favorite spices fantasy romance series is the Meredith Gentry series by Laurel K. Hamilton. Good world building, reverse harem, fae, seelie/ un-seelie courts. Spice level is ghost pepper đ¶ïž level.
The Four Horsemen series by Laura Thalassa has a good plot with slow burn romances but then also a decent amount of steam at the same time! I was hesitant to pick it up at first bc of ppl saying how abusive the heroes are at times before they fall for the heroines, but then I ended up lovingggg it. So now I'm having the same reaction to King of Flesh and Bone where it sounds like it might be too much, but I'm gonna still try it bc there's also the chance that I'll love the toxicity just like I did with Four Horsemen XD

These hollow vows is just perfection and it confirms my theory rhay a well.done love triangle will always sky rocket into the top chars in fantasy romance . And plz we need more dark romance authors getting into fantasy romance, is just so refreshing reading their characters!!
Do you have any fantasy recommendations with romance and no spice, but older characters?? I need no spice (fade to black is fine), Iâve got multiple young kids and Iâm very religious so I canât be reading anything explicit, but I LOVE high fantasy and I do want a love story in there somewhere. What can I say, my little heart just want the good guy to slay the dragon and get the girl.
Gardians of hades series by felicity heaton is good plot, lots of spice, and follows the love-at-first-sight trope. Each book is a different son of hades all banished to the mortal world to protect both realms from demon uprising. 10 books in the series all easy reads and very spicy. Gods, demons, monsters, and for the most part all strong female roles. Sourcerous moon series by jeffe kennedy first book called lonens war. 5 books in the series. Main character oria is princess sourceress in a kingdom overthrown by the barbarian kingdom of dru. Lonen (the king) and Oria (rightful queen) plot to bind the 2 kingdoms and banish the dragon riding zombie sourcerers threatening to distroy everything. It is a new favorite rivaling ACOTAR for me. Spice does not overthrow the story but is very.. creative.. Also just read daindreths assassin by Elizabeth Wheatley. 5 books that were super fast to read. Spice was very minimal but sweet romance, and plot had a good pace. Its got demon bad guys, magic, gods, and medevil world building. Writing was good enough to recommend but clearly the author is at the beginning of her career showing great promise but a little room for improvement. Im giving the peter pan one a read now! Just finished blood and ash series and absolutely loved it!
