- This is the William Hall Psychiatric Institute which is located in Columbia, South Carolina. It looks like it is part research labs, hospital residential wings and a large administration building.
This is a large modern type hospital that has been abandoned for some years now. It is more sleek looking than other abandoned places yet still has a touch of vandalism and creepiness.

Hello thank you for watching ❤️
As a person who stayed here in my early teens, this brings back lots of not so fond memories.
I also never got to enjoy the open courtyard. I had to spend my 1 hour of outside time in the caged courtyard. It was such a horrible place. A lot of those "offices" were used as classrooms. I shared a room with a girl that was in there for lynching. I remember being so hungry bc I was terrified to eat the food there. I would go days without eating until family could bring me stuff. We were always told how horrible we were and would never be productive members of society. I remember one kid was suicidal. He was such a nice guy but was always zeroed out and would be thrown into the padded room just for giving a look. I remember a girl got a shot almost everyday just for speaking at a volume that wasn't a whisper. On my last day there I was accused of stealing when this wasn't true. They wanted me to stay longer. All in all, this place was horrible for teenagers and kids.
😢 you can say that again I was on the co-ed unit for awhile
I lived here for 2 years of my teenage life on ward 156.
It was an interesting way to grow up
I spent time here to look at my individual comment
Frances Hoelzel i was on 154 if im correct in 2014.
Wait.. who are you?
@@thefireman5643 I was there December 2014
I spent a lot of time at the children's unit in my adolescent years. Definitely could be a scary place.
I spent time there too look at my comment
I remember Mr Spencer he was my buddy
Me too I was there for years age 7 to 17 years old
@@plaguedoctor3806 Mr Spencer he had me laughing everyday he came to work
Wow! That place is massive! Such a cool explore! Thanks for sharing! Hope your move went smoothly!
Wow Awesome place quite an amount of shattered glass around really cool mural in the children's section loved the piano still there surprised it was still intact great explore glad to see you with someone......
A very cool spot my friend 😲😍
I was here ... years ago , around age 14 it was so awful . I was out there for a bad home situation . Not because I was crazy .. however by the time I left there I went crazy .. my roommate hung herself and I walked in and found her , one girl tried to kill herself and ended up in a coma . The violence was awful . The staff were abusive . The nurses caused me to overdosed so I eventually was able to leave . I’m still learning to get over the things I went through there . This is what happens when the state gets a hold of young children .
My Aunt used too place young children in the 70s in the Blanding Building., they were removed by the state.. Most adolescents here, and Blanding weren't crazy. it was family issues. How long ago was you there? Damn.. Blanding had a lot of nice staff. that I met through my aunt. that place used too scare me when we entered the front gate, with armed staff. they would send the patients clothes to the administration building near babcock, and they would stamp your name onto the clothes. I felt bad for a lot of people that were my age at the time...
I know what you mean. I was there the same time and seen alot of shit.
I was there on the top floor childrens ward first room on the left the first time around last room on the right the second time they covered both butt cheeks with needle holes bigger doses each time in the seclusion room they were horrible there
Oh goodness.. were you there December 2014? I had a roommate named Elizabeth.
Your roommate never hung herself and no girls from this hospital ever ended up in a coma. We live in a world where the media, like vultures, would have been all over those incidents, and there is simply no evidence published or reported anywhere of this happening. Good story, though.
Wow this is some video, old ghosts around I would think, well done
Another really cool location!
Totally badass Explore, great feel to it and crazy amount to see. EFF can refer to them possibly not allowing electronic devices like smart phones, cameras etc, kinda like medical privacy stuff.
I was locked up there sent from DJJ to do a program in 2010 and it looks so crazy now compared to then. It was not a research lab or morgue there was a building that was a morgue for the mental health grounds years back in the old days hut it has been turned into a restaurant now I think.
I was also there, on 156, basically one of the last units that were active until they shut down, I remember it all vividly but before now I hadn't seen 156 sense I was 16
I was there also in 2010 i believe twice Ward C the top floor the first room on the left the first time and the last room on the right the second time they covered both butt cheeks with needle holes in the seclusion room due to a outburst i had they wiggled the needles around and left them uncovered to where i bled through my panties and on the floor was blood everywhere i sat in there
Justin Knight they used as a locker room. 154 top floor i beileve. 2014 August and Sept.
I use to work there. EFF stands for Escape From Facility.
Jason Galloway Thank you!
Kitschy Travels No doubt!!
Damn man, I never thought I'd see you again lol. Playing PS2 and kicking ass in Midnight club was the shit. Thanks for the memories.
@@sinisternuggetz9450 woah!!! Who are you?! Got a FB?
I remember you Jason,I taught you how to shuffle cards in a rainbow wow and gave you one of my decks to practice with.
I was there back in 2013 for 2 weeks. Met my current best friend there on the adolesent unit. They never really let tou leave the unit with all of the creepy stuff that use to happen.
Hey looking for places around south carolina any good way to message you?
I was there between 2008-2009 on 156 and 154. The unit you explore with the courtyard where that circular brick thing with the dead plants in it was where I was. It faced across the courtyard into the gym with the glass garage doors and up those stairs above was a laboratory.
It's really creepy to see this place abandoned now. Was there still a caged in courtyard on 154?
I didnt see any caged in courtyards. Thanks for your comment and background of the place!
Hey Kelby!!
EFF was something to do with escapes, or what was commonly known as LWP (Leave Without Permission). The exact words behind EFF escape me at the moment (pun unintentional), but that was the meaning.
That place was disturbing.
I was a patient there it wasn't that bad maybe a fight evey now and then but yeah pretty calm I liked it
I use to live there for a year and 9 months it was krazy i was on risbradul. I use to leave there alot of memories on the unit i live in had the windows blocked where you couldn't tell if it was day or night. The cafeteria food was alright. Spent alot of days in timeout. And alot of time off the unit getting alregy shots.
Does anyone know where this is??? I can’t find any addresses at all about it.
1800 colonial Dr Columbia sc ibb.co/tBCzsdJ here's a picture of it on maps
How did you get past security?
this building here on the first floor was all administration.. Most of the adolescents came from the Blanding Building.. there are one in one... per se: I remember coming out too this place with my Aunt whom was a Charleston county social worker in the late 70s... A lot of the children from that era were placed by DSS into a safe haven environment. there used too be a big snack room with Soda Machine, and Candy Machines. They used to have Diet Mr. Pibb..The Children from their plus Blanding would walk behind those main too building to walk up Per Se: a hill, there used too be doublewide trailers out back for them too attend school. they used too do arts/crafts. etc. the school building is still behind blanding building.. so much history.. My husband, and I visited the area this past weekend. spoke too a mental health police officer.. Very nice. The babcock building was moved across town. according too DMH.. still Blanding sent the kids to Babcock for classes.. never knew the history of Badcock until recently.
I'm surprised nobody's stole the piano
I used to be there in 90's
Location?
I actually was here for 3 weeks when I was 15 I'm 20 now. There were only a few buildings still in use when I went but now their all abandoned. I was transported from greenville memorial in a police car. I also knew a girl who I knew previously to being admitted that was sexually and physically abused as well as her brother at this place. There's a lot of horror stories, the staff was pretty much a bunch of ghetto pieces of shit who took their frustration out on the kids and I was witness to some pretty fucked up things in their. A girl who cut herself so much she had bandages everywhere and she would dig in with her nails when she couldn't find anything to cut with. This place was literally hell and I definitely think its haunted. I never in my life felt crazier than when I went there, plexi glass windows, dry air. I got nosebleeds the first few days I was there too and I never get them, had bad dreams and always felt I was being watched which we were but the few times we went outside were shit there was a blacktop for basketball with huge fences just surrounding us. I hate that place with everything in me. I left out a lot of shit. I suck at typing a story especially since its late.
Liam Motes we might know each other.
You just described a girl that was there when I was there.
I was there also Ward C the top floor the first room on the left the first time and the second time the last room on the right that time they covered both butt cheeks with needle holes because they kept doses me in the seclusion room due to me having a out burst they also wiggled the needles to where the entire floor was covered in blood they didnt put a bandaid on it
Liam Motes was a member of 154

@@jamieb9556 I was a patient there Hell I practically lived there 😂😂😂
Was there 2014.
Me too. December.
Same
I almost couldn't watch this because this was where I was at 2010-2011 for 10 months untill a judge signed me out shaking his head saying I only should've been there for 3 months. They were corrupt when I was there since I threw a cup with water in it into a trashcan staff wrote it up as property destruction which was the worst writeup that you could get and that kept me there alot longer, staff didn't follow rules and used their phones, one staff his name was me hanna he drove a Lexus and an Acura punched my friend in the face then put him in a headlock and slammed him on the bed in the middle bedroom in the kids unit and it was never reported he would've went to jail for a assault on a minor, his face was so swollen. I was standing in the same room as them when that happened a few feet away and told my friend i would be a witness if he wanted to press charges but he didn't. The unit also flooded up to your ankles the entire unit was flooded when a sink broke and the water was so hot it set off the fire alarms. After I came home I had 40+ nightmares/ptsd from being locked up. They should be investigated and I wish I could bring a lawsuit against them for holding me there longer than I should've been for false writeups but idk if that's possible.
Oh man, what horrendous place. I am sorry that happened to you.
Kitschy your awsome person
And like you're video's
Eff meaning extended funds facility
