I am so sorry to hear about your brother, but i think it is also important to realize that alcohol can also cause problems if its not enjoyed in moderation. Found a bottle of the TPG Rye. My son and I sipped and went wow! not something to be played with serious flavor profile, real peppery on the back of the mouth. But I told my son...wait there's more. Add a chunk of ice and let it sit for a few minutes...and wow it just got better. So Good!!!!!! Great job!

Love seeing sagamore get on this list. Sagamore Rye 8 year is up there with the greatest ryes I have ever had. It's there with the JD 2020 Rye Barrel Proof. It's definitely lower proof but both are amazing. The JD has a different flavor profile but overall is close in quality.

My 4 favorite ryes are Sagamore standard and high west double rye, jd sb and AERYE

During the show philosophy section it reminded me... My wife, who works at a VSO, is a co-contributor on what they call the empowered veteran index (EVI). The biggest take-away is that connectedness is a very strong component of veteran reintegration and suicide prevention. As soon as I saw that Mrs. Lindsay was in the video, I knew that Angels Envy Rye was going to make an appearance on this list. Good stuff.
Silver Springs Sweet Rye, and Riverset Single Barrel have been some of my favorite new rye whiskies I've tried recently. Both are priced between $40-$50, both are single barrel/barrel strength, and both are very tasty by my standards.
I don't know the Silver Springs, but Riverset is the same whiskey as The Prideful Goat 6 year rye, just younger. Do you have a TPG rye? Could you do a side by side?

I always thought that TPG was MGP, but Riverset states that it is distilled in Tenn...?
@@StillLivinginthewoods You are right. I get nashville barrel co and riverset confused since they are both TN based and in the same bottle. I believe Riverset is distilled at Tennessee Distilling Group.
I’ve recently started buying some ryes. The barrel seagrass and Rare Breed are pretty good. I just picked up the 6 year Prideful Goat and I think it may beat those other in a blind

I like Rare Breed too. I have a Very Old Saint Nick. For the money I didn't like it as much. Have you had an Sagamore that is their own liquid yet?
@@BourbonRealTalk I have the PX Sherry, Rum finished, regular, double oak, cask strength, barrel proof, and the 8 yr. that I bought about four months ago and a really good store pick. I think they aren’t there juice but I’m new to the game and not sure.
@@nickp5511 I am pretty sure all of those are MGP. Look for a BiB that says it is distilled in Maryland.
I have a Kentucky owl 3 rye and it’s my absolute favorite bottle of rye. And prefer it more than most of my bourbons. I can’t seem to find the Michters 10 year for a good price, looking forward to finding it one day for a decent price. Have the Michters toasted rye, gives a weird aftertaste to me. Love your content though!

I love everything I have had from sagamore. Have you tried anything they produced themselves? Most of their products are MGP, but they have some bottles coming out now that say distilled in Maryland, and that is their own whiskey.

Pikesville is at the top of my list, what is your opinion of it?
I like it and generally keep a bottle on my shelf. I believe it is the same mash bill as Rittenhouse and Elijah Craig rye, which are a little easier to find in my area. How do you think the Pikesville compares to Rittenhouse and Elijah Craig rye?

@@BourbonRealTalktrust me…. I am a bourbon junky…. Like scotch but don’t love it. So a lot of Indian whiskey taste similar but I don’t say this lightly…. You have got to try Paul John Mithuna… strong bourbon flavor…. Top 5 for me

I am talking with OHLQ, but since it is a control state and we do not have a brand rep in the state it is a long shot. Looks like we are going to be coming to OH. Possibly in September. We will be doing some public events. Hope you can come.

Confirmed! It is world class. I would put it against any rye and it would do well in a blind IMO. Have they hit your market yet?
@@BourbonRealTalk Ive heard similar rumors of it’s deliciousness. I live 40min from JD and haven’t seen one yet but everything goes very quick here. I’ve only seen 1 JD 12yr and it was $400. So I usually don’t get my hopes up till after the hype cools down a bit
@@suysauce007 The rye is supposed to be a permanent SKU, so hopefully it will be a lot easier to find than their special releases.

My favorite rye’s are rittenhouse, Elijah Craig, bulliet, knob creek, dickel…and anything whistlepig.
Interesting. Rittenhouse and Elijah Craig are both Heaven Hill and I believe they are the same mash bill. Bulliet makes some of their own product, but they historically sourced their rye from MGP as does Dickel and whistlepig for a while, so you definitely like MGP rye and HH rye. Have you ever tried The Prideful Goat rye? Based on your preferences I think you would like it.

What whole video. Not a Short???
We just recently started doing shorts by paying a marketing company to make clips of our full length videos. It started taking attention away from the full length videos, and often cause a ton of hate filled comments from people who missed the point of the content due to its short format. We have decided to go back to our normal full length videos only. This will be the last week of shorts.
