Luckily, EA themselves have the patch for the DLC, so you can just use a standard version.

Shift and shift 2 runied me for how racing games NEED to feel in the cockpit on console. Forza and especially Gran turismo just feel so sterile in comparison. Most of the same team that made these games made project cars, but even pcars and its sequels paled in comparison to just how visceral and exciting shift 1 and 2 were. I mean, fuck, the dev team LITERALLY strapped cameras to racers helmets irl and used that data to replicate the feeling in game.
For real tho, why can't anyone replicate this Godlike helmet cam quality ? It feels and looks so realistic and it's stupidly immersive, the sense of power speed and fear are increased to a whole new level and it's completely spoiled me and made me almost dislike any cockpit view in recent games that isn't even close to this, every time I see videos of people playing Forza or GT the cockpit is so boring and unexciting, it feels like you are just walking with how it looks so perfect and sterile, no movement or fluidity or depth of field just feels like I am looking at a wall.

@@BlackRockStella NFS has always had one point: Speedhunters. A long-standing partnership is very important for creating this feeling of urgency that we find in most NFS games. There are behind-the-scenes videos showing the entire process, with the real runners on the tracks.
Best cockpit view in any racing game so far
When VR wasn't ready enough for racing games, helmet cam was the equivalent of it.

Crazy visuals, crazy sounds, crazy physics, develops crazy adrenaline. Maybe not a best sim or arcade game but such a fun to play.
No game is perfect, after all.

@@ZA-7 Shift and Shift 2 also had extremely broken physics, tuning and inputs. Some cars were kinda okay, but once you started upgrading, or changing settings, the driving experience just got jank af

The fact is, this is one of the few cars that AI struggle to handle when fully upgraded with engine swap.

This game gives an insane sense of power and speed! That understeer at 1:26 made me almost crар my pants. This is what NFS should give to players.

Aside from the AI being all over the place, this game does have some *_INSANE_* immersion going on around the cockpit - the G-force working against your vision, the car throwing you around in the seat like a mad bull, you can almost feel it all through the screen!

Just by watching the video I can feel the speed. It feels so terrifying that any mistake can lead to a fatal crash. Thank goodness it’s just a game.

This and the R8's V10 swapped RS4 were obscenely quick, to the point it is unrealistic (over 2000hp with all upgrades)
And yet, it was so satisfying to handle these monsters. V10 Supra was also the GOAT on drift events
The RS4 being the fastest car for Standing Mile, capable of reaching 500km/h, thanks to its traction off from the line with nitrous.
This game is ahead of his time... Sad that they discontinued 😢
this is my favorite NFS .. though had some minor annoying bugs where in cockpit view sometimes the hand suddenly freezes but the stirring wheel still responding .. only way to fix is to restart the game ,.. overall underrated game .. this game is almost perfect

After installing the UCP patch, this particular bug very rarely occurs, at least fron my end.
@@Alexneroverona all cars have very differently handling due to their design, I would say it is more realistic than some sims in how the car handles, even in real life you have to antecipate corners, and you can't just expect to sit in any car and know how to handle it in the first go
Wish they would use this first person for a street racing entry. Would be so intense running from police with this camera
Honestly I want a big city based racing game with this cockpit camera work alongside a realistic to a limit handling model (where going 50-70 mph in an innercity freeway actually feels fast like it does in real life) and where you have to be around 20-30-40 mph to make those sharp neighborhood turns and the camera reflects that. Like those assetto corsa videos from Vegetable Studio where your car actually has weight but it can be improved to a certain degree.
Looks better then modern games in some way. And defenitely is more fun then modern games.

@@cleitin1437 Digo referente ao meu comentário só, porquê o que foi dito não se compara porquê o Assento Corsa é usado mod para que tenha um realismo de câmera do capacete. Eu mesmo já trabalhei um pouco em fazer o melhor Assetto Corsa possível, algo bem pessoal meu, digo em configurações e seleção dos melhores mods, inclusive a visão assim do capacete, até onde cheguei ficou bom, mais desisti, consumia muito meu tempo e eu não parava de configurar mais o jogo, fiquei obsecado em querer ver mudanças e concertar as coisas, mais o Assetto Corsa é fantástico sim ainda mais bem trabalhado.

Well it is now 2024. I do have this STEAM game on my PC. If you like cars that drift allot, this game is for you. I race in this game once and a while, just for some fun and some entertainment.

Although it is fun to slide around the corners, this has repercussions as well. Some cars have horrible driving model, resulting a really tail-happy car.

But, if you want even more tuning capabilities, I recommend Patch 1.2.
Both of them are available on NFSMods.

I'm currently playing the campaign in vanilla (will mod the game after so I can say I went through the game clean), and I can test it out later ofc. But if you happen to want to give your opinion/preference, it'll be mostly appreciated!

@@elcobra98 Iirc, the Unofficial Community Patch (UCP) is a tool that is a must for modding the game, which at that time was named Patch 1.1, which mainly unpacking the game to be fully moddable, and bug fixes.
Patch 1.2, is made by another modder by the name, Railgun. This mod overhauls the driving physics, rebalance car performances, and completely redone the tuning, so it has more capability like Forza-esque, which in Vanilla Shift 2 lacks of.

It sucks that EA cancelled shift 3 right as slightly mad were working on it, a game with 2 Unleasheds sense of speed and a better physics model would of put Gran Turismo and Forza to shame

Wouldn't say it's a simulator. More of a simcade, especially with its slidey physics.
But the helmet cam is a nice touch to immersion, at least.

Это называется навыки, которые нужно оттачивать, хотя они у него не самые лучшие, если он играет с помощниками и наверняка не с максимальными настройками сложности, а также упрощённой настройкой машины, о чём говорит странное поведение её на прямых, тем не менее он всё равно водит явно лучше, чем большинство других игроков в эту игру, потому что может проехать такую трассу на настолько мощном заднем приводе. В играх есть такая штука, как "геймплей" (не во всех, в донатных помойках его нет), если следовать ему, то всё будет получаться, более того появится атмосфера, но большинство его просто не видит, большинство - казуальные игроки. Глянь у меня реальную круть, о чём все мечтают, когда заходят в эту игру.
