The picture didn’t cause the problem, the media has made it a problem and continues to do so. The public in the main seems to be supportive of Katherine, unlike the media who are bullying and harassing an unwell woman for nothing.

I embrace the gay community and have no issue with KC3 as King and love being a Commonwealth country. But I feel for America having the Prince and his wife exercising their Reign over the USA.
The fact that they didn’t edit the ring back in shows that whatever changes they made were done only to improve the picture, not to construe any message.
It is very sad that it has come to this. In the picture the children are clearly joyful, their father must have done something to make them laugh for the camera. It was a genuine moment that has been altered in non-relevant details as many other pictures before.
The real reason why there is all of this nitpicking is that the press cannot bear not having the details of Catherine’s situations, so they decided to read into these alterations way more than there actually is to them.
It wasn’t a “genuine moment” the whole image has been manipulated and spliced with older images and then heavily edited in photoshop. If there was no issue with Kate then just release the unadulterated original image with all its flaws, they won’t because there isn’t one. Something has happened to her and I wouldn’t be surprised if we never see her again.

I watched Brittany’s take on this for her Royal News Network channel. She’s taken up photography and she showed how movement can warp an image. She posited that all this could be as simple as Prince William not being as savvy with a camera as Princess Catherine so the focus could have been a little off in some parts of the picture and slight movements by the children while the snap is being taken would be enough to create blurring and distortion in other parts of the photo. Touch ups to correct these things would be required. The media are working to send their grandkids to university on this one and it’s disgusting. Leave the Wales’ alone.

She edited a photo oh my God. We do it every day in America and around the world. We are lucky that they have shared anything with us. And then when they do, they are torn apart by the press. They need space. They are human let them breathe!
There's a huge difference between editing and manipulation.
Photo agencies don't put "kill notices" on edited (cropped, lightened...) photos!
You edit one existing photo taken at a certain time
You *manipulate* various images of unknown dates and provenance and copy and paste them to create a new image....which is therefore not a photo by definition.
Therefore the implication is that Kensington Palace LIED by saying "Prince William took it a few days ago".
And Kensington Palace refused to hand over the "original" photo probably because none exists.
Considering who the Royal Family are (the UK and Commonwealth's foremost representatives) and who William will be in the not too distant future (Head of State of 14 countries), this is not only embarrassing, it is shameful.

We all need to listen to Tyrus, I totally agree with him. If the UK media refused a photo because of editing, how is it that they have published soooo many photos of MM and her wife? Every photo of her is fake in some way, especially the alleged children, and have received absolutely no backlash from what they have done!. Why is it ok for them to do whatever they want but not Princess Catherine? It is just one photo! One photo and BAM! We have all been told that Princess Catherine has had "abdominal surgery, she is making a good recovery and is not expected to be back performing public duties until after Easter". I know this, so why does the rest of the world not seem to understand what this means?

This topic is beyond sad it's disgusting. What's even more incredible is that we have a bunch of men trying to figure out a women issue. I'm a woman and I had abdominal problems and found out I had a tube pregnancy and had to have a hysterectomy which is a very private matter. I have no problem putting it out because it will never be on the front page of the worlds media. I'm Not saying this is the problem however these are some things that women face and are not comfortable putting out to the public. This really has to stop and I hope women around the world will speak out and shut this kind of harassment down. As far as the pictures, This is just another desperate outrages attempt to sell news papers and a talking point for talk show host.

That was my first thought of Princesses Catherine's possible surgery and if that were the case, she has every right to privacy for as long as she wanted with her immediate family mourning and dealing with the trauma , not only of the surgery but the King's cancer and other recent emotional sadness of their friends/aquaintinces.

Ay, what IS "The Palace" so determined to keep a lid on? It seems most people would be relieved to see Catherine, Princess Of Wales, no matter what phase of recovery and rehabilitation she is currently in. Nobody worth the air they breathe would think ill of her, confined to bed, in a wheelchair, no makeup, whatever, if she just issued a verifiable statement on her own that said that she'd appreciate everybody's continued patience while she recovers from a difficult health situation. But in a royal world where Catherine has appeared to be faultless, asking her to appear less so may be unacceptable. Once the public finds out she has "feet of clay", its perception of her will be permanently altered.
Instead, you'd think we're about to learn that King Charles's "diagnosis" is actually Catherine's, that he just rushed to the same hospital she was in to "absorb" the diagnosis before it leaked out while Catherine was the only hospitalized royal, that Catherine was born an "indeterminate" male but raised as a girl, that all the children are products of surrogate delivery, that Catherine is under cover now because they had to stop her female hormone treatments so she's grown a beard and talks like Johnny Cash, and it's actually going to take an indefinite amount of time to get everything back in the order they want us to see. Is this the kind of scenario the media hyenas are hoping for??
