    Follow along with our other videos to see a-day-in-the-life of a travel trailer turned food truck. Making money while serving coffee is an awesome way to meet new people and build a coffee culture community too. Our DIY trailer conversion is still a work in progress. Check out our E-book and be on your way to become a mobile barista.
    We spent five months on our coffee truck build. If you're looking to start a mobile food unit or a mobile coffee shop, we can tell you right now, Yes! They can be profitable. We have created an E-book on how to build a mobile coffee trailer. Cute coffee trailer and name. Reminds me of Philippians 3:14. We’ve thought of doing something like this. We’ve lived in an RV for last year & a half, so we’re used to propane and all that & I got a part-time barista job at a local coffee shop 6 mos ago. So at least I have some experience making coffee now.;) Thanks for sharing. Y’all have a beautiful family! Will be showing my hub this.;) 💛☕️

    Very nice! Would you prefer an all in one (perhaps a food truck style setup) or the stand alone trailer you have now?
    Either way I'm digging this . Thanks for the inspiration. Best of luck. 👍

    • @PressOnMobileCoffee
      @PressOnMobileCoffee  Před 2 lety +5

      I do like the simplicity of a drivable set up. It would be nice to just pull up and be ready to go. However, if you have uneven terrain where you are setting up, it might be easier leveling a trailer with jacks vs a truck/van.
      The biggest downside for a food truck style IMO is the serving window height tends to be much higher. I like to sit as low as possible to my customers. It makes for a more personable experience.

    • @PressOnMobileCoffee
      @PressOnMobileCoffee  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! It was smooth sailing really. I would just make sure that you purchase insurance that covers everything inside the trailer in case something happens. The cheapest I could find was a company called Hiscox. Great company.

      Yes, we are in the USA. I was actually searching for a machine on eBay and found the seller TheCoffeeGuys.co.uk. They had a Astoria dual fuel machine for sale so I reached out to them. • @PressOnMobileCoffee
      @PressOnMobileCoffee  Před 2 lety

      Hello! We are in Post Falls, Idaho. First step I recommend is to check out your county health department and look for a “mobile food truck guidelines” or something similar. If you call them, they will know what to send you or what site to send you to. That will give you all the codes and regulations for your build. Generally, they will be looking for things like: hot water temp, cold storage temps, water tank size, sinks etc. Idaho is very relaxed with all of this because we are only serving coffee and foods under “Cottage Law” occasionally.

    How do you keep trailer heated in below 0 degrees temperatures?

    • @PressOnMobileCoffee
      @PressOnMobileCoffee  Před rokem

      In the winter we use a portable heater in the trailer. I keep it on overnight and anytime the temps drop below 32 degrees. If I won’t be running the trailer for awhile I will also empty the water tanks and water lines.

    Dumb question, but is the whole trailer powered by that propane tank?

    • @PressOnMobileCoffee
      @PressOnMobileCoffee  Před rokem

      No such thing as a dumb question - It is not. The propane tank just powers the espresso machine (which eliminates about 4k watts). The rest of the appliances (grinder, fridge, lights, pos system, etc) is run on a battery/inverter system.

    How much on the CSHOP truck trailer

  • @ckhalifa_
    @ckhalifa_ Před 2 lety

    If you operate for 8 hrs at $4 per cup and 100 cups per day of sales (that's 1 sale every 5 mins) you're looking at $400 revenue. Even at 50% profit margin that's $200 profit per day which in the best case is $25/hr.
    How do your numbers compare to this breakdown?

    • @PressOnMobileCoffee
      @PressOnMobileCoffee  Před 2 lety +2

      That's a safe prediction however I only do 4-6 hour events with high attendee count. It's fair to say I capture at least 10% of attendees. My average transaction is almost always over $6. I generally charge a minimum for an event, meaning if I do a 4 hour event, I will request that I make at least $400. If I only make $300, the event coordinator will have to pay me the $100 difference. If you can snag a location that allows you to operate as a drive thru, you will be in even better shape.
