  • Starting a coffee shop is a dream for many, but opening a café can be a big investment. A drive-thru coffee shop business is an excellent alternative, with lower start-up costs and huge profit potential for entrepreneurs passionate about owning a coffee shop.
Today we’re talking to Sandy Edin, owner of the Shots 2 Go coffee shop. The stand was struggling when she bought it in 2010. She used her experience as a barista and café manager to transform Shots 2 Go into a successful coffee business, and in this interview she’ll share the strategies she used to do it.
Opening a coffee shop from scratch can be intimidating, even if you have lots of industry experience. Buying one that was already up and running saved Sandy a lot of that work and let her get to making money faster.
We’ll hear straight from Sandy why she decided to buy her coffee stand, along with her advice on how to open a coffee shop like what equipment is a must-have and how much money you’ll need up front to get started.
Bringing in customers is critical for the success of any new business. We’ll find out what marketing strategies Sandy used to get Shots 2 Go on customers’ radar, particularly during slow times, to keep her business competitive.
Anyone who’s thinking about starting a coffee shop business will gain some valuable insights from watching this video! If you want to know more about Shots to Go you can check out their Facebook page at / shots2goespressodrivethru .

As a consumer running a small business (travel agency), I miss hanging out at the coffee shop. And many in society have missed out on the social engagement that a sit down coffee experience provides. Is a drive through the ultimate goal for a coffee shop once the COVID pandemic ends? I don’t think it’s a 100% guarantee. Which ever way you coffee shop owners go, I’m rooting for you!

I used to own a bagel /coffee and deli restaurant. Anyone who can succeed in the food or beverage industry should be commended. It's alot of work and alot of labor. It's tough to find good employees in the food industry, unless they work for tips. It's tough to keep it running right of you aren't there. So, as she said kiss vacations goodbye. I worked for 6+ years with no vacation. We made our bagels from scratch. So labor was high. Making bagels daily is hard work and time consuming. Utilities are high. Space is needed. I like this type of business.... low rent, low labor rates, make coffee, sell coffee, and sandwiches with ingredients you can easily buy and resell. Good job on growing this business

@@danwake4431 A coffee trailer will probably have a limited supply compared to a stand. Your need for storage will be limited comparatively. That being said; if you are busy you will have to make stops to your trailer to re-up; probably only milk to be honest though.
I'm hoping to have around 200 customers a day. If 3/4 of them are 'espresso drinks' using milk then I may have to have an extra ice chest with a few gallons of milk in it.

This is a neat perspective of a coffee shop that is likely rivaled with many other coffee shops in the area. I know when I lived in grants pass Oregon Dutch Bros. was a big deal. They were highly successful with multiple locations back around 2010. Cant even imagine how much that company has expanded now days. I knew a guy that knew the owner of dutch bros and they have a real cool story as well. its a great concept. I could see more of these style coffee shops doing well in Texas as there are not as many as there were out west. Maybe more now, its been a few years since Ive been out traveling. Although ya, was considering opening up a dutch brothers style coffee shop down in Austin around that time, just stayed as a possible opportunity in my mind, nonetheless it's always great to see people follow through with a business and find success. (LMAO just looked it up, dutch bros has about 500 more locations now than they did in 2010. Didnt even know they went public, reading the wiki, HOLY MOLY thats crazy growth, they have locations even in austin now. to funny really) good luck out there, love to see good success from such a competitive market

This was a fascinating watch, going behind the scenes and observing the operations of this store. Where I come from, coffee is immensely popular but haven't seen it in this drive thru format (unless you're talking about McDonalds or Burger King). Thanks for sharing!

I highly recommend True fridges! We use them in our five bakery's. People usually burn them out though because on top their is a fan and head shroud that needs to be vacuumed out monthly....we do deal with a lot of flower so monthly really is needed but I'd even say every other month for most places would be smart

@@UpFlip Thanks! In SHanghai i have noticed a huge uptrend in small business that specialize in womens luxury bags. Reselling, repairing and renting of luxury bags. 2021 saw a huge increase in this and would be great if you could make a video on this kind of business or similar. Brings into question that historically wages have not kept up with prices of goods/inflation, therefore is investing in luxury brands profitable long-term? Thanks @UpFlip
