I think what I am loving so much from Samsung phones lately is that they've taken the route of designing wide screen phones instead of long and tall. It just feels more natural to hold a wider phone than a longer one. Also, the design just looks sexier.

Great video Ella!! Really loving this approach (comparing the phone with 2 devices which make sense due to the FE time of release and their price point). Also appreciate alot on the mention of FE despite having larger battery still does not reflect improvement of batt life compared to s21.

Thank you, Ella, for the very complete review and comparison video. You covered the major issues with both phones. It comes down to Snapdragon vs. Tensor, Reliable OS, and Security updates. At this point, if you really need a phone, then the S21 FE, at a discount, would be excellent. If you can wait, see what Samsung brings to the table with the S22 series, which will be just three weeks away, instead of waiting until October for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, when Google will drop the price in the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Take Care.
Yeah, she did. And this is why I'll never buy the Pixel 6. I knew about the fingerprint unlocking issue. But, not the wireless charging issues

Fan editions series are grt. Wish they released SD 888 in india. Its annoying to see Exynos version. Still the s21 FE looks grt. Nice video ella. Digging that background color😁👍

Good job! I've noticed hardly anyone talks about the modems and network connectivity, including WIFI. I get that it's a unique thing depending on factors outside of the phone, but apples to apples comps are worthwhile. And missing in almost everyone's reviews. Food for thought.
I ended up buying the FE because I went looking for the s21 at my local phone store and they didn't have it, and wasn't sure when they were going to get it. My current phone was acting up a lot, so I didn't want to wait that long.
The FE is doing very well. It's fast, sharp, smooth etc. I just wish it was cheaper.

I was in the same boat! My old Samsung S6 finally died, and I needed a phone so I could continue to work remotely from home. I went to my local phone store, and due to supply chain problems, they had very few phones in stock. I bought the 21 FE because it was one of the few phones they had.
Nice comparison, I've been wondering what's the noticeable difference in everyday use, thanks for also including the comparison for touch like the haptic feels, the heating, the weight, etc.

Enjoyed this video, I had the S20 FE which I enjoyed but the camera and the way it processed the photos I was really disappointed. I traded it in for the Pixel 6 which I like and yes I had some issues as well. But the January and February updates have fixed everything. Saw your review on the S22 Plus and I’m considering it because I like to try different phones from time to time. I’m also a fan of Google and Samsung phones, thank you!

Excellent video. Personally I will go more on the pixel 6 which according to the comparisons with this s21fe would have a better autonomy. Even if it's true that the pixel 6 has a lot of software bugs I prefer to focus on autonomy which is one of the factors that push us to change phones. I just regret the absence of the telephoto lens on the pixel 6

Another amazing video Ella. I think the s21fe is a much better value than the google pixel and pixel pro. The pixel series has to many bugs and a not so great fingerprint scanner and no Face ID. Now if we say value I still think the regular s21 is the better value as you can find that phone for around the same price as the s21 fe so I’d go for that.

Very nice comparison and an informative video! These are really incredible videos for a smaller youtube channel.
Solid take! It's a shame the Pixel line is still plagued with weird bugs and sub-par support after all these years. They seem like very compelling phones, but the idea of living with one for the long-term doesn't inspire much confidence. I still very strongly remember the days of "stock" Android being where it's at and Samsung's Touchwiz being a huge detriment to their phones.... seems to a be a full reversal these days. Also, never really thought I'd say this, but since the S21 Ultra, I actually prefer Samsung's image processing over the Pixel's. The Pixel's camera is technically impressive, but seems to produce some weird results that remind me a bit too much of those early 2010s turbo-HDR photos people (myself included XD) took with their DSLRs. Like, that photo through your apartment window looks like someone straight up cut out everything in the window and photoshopped something else in...

Pixel 6 and 6 pro are also Google's first time making 100% all Google phones, so of course it's gonna have some stumbling blocks. Like Samsung and Apple did when they started.
I bought the S20 FE 5g last year and I love it. It actually has an SD card slot, which I do use. I got the 256gb model, so I have 8gb RAM. As for the phone being heavier, I much prefer it. You get more friction with the right kind of case when you hold it in one hand, and this helps me to not drop the phone. The only reason my phone has met the ground was because it was on my lap when I stood up. My s20 FE does get hot when playing games, I'll admit this. I'm happy to see that they[samsung] didn't completely botch this S21 FE. Although, I do not like that they took away the SD card slot. I use it to dump important stuff to while I use the phone, so I don't rely on cloud using data. 4k videos are too large to store without buying more storage space on the cloud. If I were to drop my phone and it stopped working, all the data on the SD card will be safe, and I can remove it to transfer the files into another device.
The aluminium rails on the FE look so so so good. The FE in green is BEAUTIFUL
I'm waiting for the S22 Ultra. May get that or the S22+. Have an S10+. Just what I was thinking of... glass backs are easier to crack and heavier than plastic.

I was very excited about the Google pixel pro which I did get in white. I tried to ignore all the bugs but I just couldn't, I emeded up returning it and got the s21 fe. My s20 fe was my all time favorite phone this one is right on there althoughI wish I had gotten the purple color.
Interesting comparison. It's unfortunate that a lot of CZcamsrs have had so many bugs with the pixel 6. My girlfriend and I both own the pixel 6 and we haven't had any issues with our devices.
For the wireless power share, the pixel 6 does have it as well and can wirelessly charge other devices.
For the camera, I think both took nice photos and the preference may be personal here.
Overall I would prefer the pixel 6, but it's totally understandable to recommend the S21 FE as it's a very good device too.
On my note 20 I used the power share once. I charged my friends S10 plus. I thought it would use it more. But my friends who both have the S10 plus only used it a couple of times. Its good to have in a pinch. We were having a cookout and my friend didn't want to run in a put their phone on a charger since they were expecting a phone call

S 21 FE & the Pixel 6. I'm leaning towards the S21 FE, seems to be a lot lighter than the pixel 6 and less buggy. Any updates on the battery performance for the S 21FE? I've heard mixed reviews . Thanks for the video I enjoyed it.

Great video! but maybe you should try the pixel stand. Also it probably doesn't work due to certain charging wattages.
The S21 FE has better zoom in the telephoto lens despite the lower resolution of the megapixels. Because it has 3x optical zoom meanwhile the telephoto on the regular S21 doesn't have optical zoom but higher resolution and cropped it while taking photos. You can see that the FE has better zoom photos on other youtube channels such as Danny Winget, etc.

I bought the phone, sadly no physical case and glass protection are available at my area bahrain, amazon to the rescue hmmm it takes time though. Nice personal review Ella and take care.
One thing to note about the FE's front-facing camera -- it's fixed focus, so it can't auto-focus like the S21's. That means you have to be very deliberate/specific about where you hold it from your face.
It also doesn't have the ltpo panel of S21. Also inferior haptics, speakers, no 8k, no director's view, no lens switching at 4k60fps etc.
@@xdadev Yup. It's a great phone on its own, but it's not as great of a value as the S20 FE was last year. The only reason to get it over the S21 series is if you live in an Exynos region, but the FE is Snapdragon.
@@notkyloren There are reasons to get Fe over regular S21.
S21 simply struggles to last whole day with 4k battery. Also, the screen size is smaller. Plus, you get an extra year of update on FE.
So personally, if I'm getting S21+ around the same price of S21 FE, I'll buy that. Else, I'll get the S21 FE.
How did you test the telephoto lens? The one on the FE is by far better than the cropped one on the regular S21.

I would get the Samsung Galaxy FE maybe 1 year later for the discounts. Still unsure about the latest flagship's thermals. Sticking with my Oneplus 8T and Poco F3 at the moment.
If you want SD card storage I would get the s20 fe otherwise get something else unless you are a die hard samsung fan there are better phones out there especially with the heating issues. hope those get worked out with newer snapdragon chips seems to be the norm with 888 and newer chips.

What would you anticipate from the NEW chip that you're not getting now? What's the "KEY" thing about Samsung that keeps you beholden to them for the time being? EVERY phone that gets released next from EVERYONE will be different to SOME measure. E/thing is always touted as "bigger/better/improved/etc" It's all hype my friend.

ive got the s20 fe i always use it in power save i dont care for the 120hz maybe im missing out but for basic apps etc. i like battery keeping chage

But here is a catch s21 fe has real 3× zoom while regular s21 has 1.1× zoom and because of 64 mp camera it cropps picture to 3×

Hi Ella, i am from India, to give you an idea how the market here is that, in Amazon website of India s21 fe without offers is around $733 and pixel 6 is $817, no offer available for pixel 6, but after offers s21fe is available for $640, but One drawback is that s21 fe here comes with Exynos 2100, the last fact you mentioned, s22 series will be priced so high i feel that samsung will like to compete with Apple and its prices will be near $1000, so I did agree with you and bought s21 fe
I'm surprised that the telephoto on the FE is worse than on the S21, considering the s21 just uses digital zoom from a high resolution. I guess it's that super tiny sensor hindering the FE

Got my s21 (256gb) from my provider for €600 so i couldnt miss out on that. However i do notice the finger print not working most of the time, could this be because of the tempered glass protector? Great vid btw!

Yes, I've seen that mentioned in other reviews. I'm getting the S21 soon and I don't intend to use any screen protector.
@@cassandra43210 Using finger print would definitely be so much better, i just don't want to risk damaging my screen since the protector already has marks xd it's kind of annoying that face scan isn't that good in low light tho
@@wheresblame Don't know what to tell you since I haven't gotten my S21 yet. I currently have an iphone 8plus which I've had for 3 years and I've never had a screen protector on it and it's doing fine. I find a good case with a lift is enough to protect the screen. So I plan on doing the same for my S21, good case and no screen protector.
@@cassandra43210 Yeah i had an iphone 5c once and never had a scratch on it without screen protector, maybe i'll take it off once i get too annoyed with it. Anyways, have fun with your s21 once you get it, it's def a good phone! :)

Hmm 🤔 I would choose the Samsung S21.if the S21Fe gets another 50to100$ price cut then that would be a great value for money smartphone but the current pricing is not bad.
I think I'm gonna return my pixel for this. I have Samsung ecosystem and I thought with my galaxy watch 4 being wear os the pixel would support it more, nope. The screen brightness sucks so bad it has to be on 100% for you to see on a sunny day. I got it due to the price and features but if a Samsung has what I want at the same price I'm switching back

My two cents: I actually switched from a pixel 6 to a s21 FE, and if in your country/area you're able to get the FE cheaper (i did on sale, by a long margin), it would be a much better deal than the pixel 6, which is priced so aggressively for the value it packs that you're not likely to see it drop by much if at all.
Overall in my opinion, the pixel 6 was a better device in most metrics, except i like that the FE is slimmer. My pixel was faulty and actually physically bent out of shape, about a millimeter from the bottom left edge - just from being in my jean pockets for a few minutes, but i know other p6/p6p owners and their phones have held up to abuse.
Samsung s21 FE is about 200eur(216usd) cheaper than the pixel 6 in Lithuania :D
