ABOUT ME: Hi everyone! My name is Abby and I am a working mom living in Texas with my husband, Trey. We have three kids named Truett, Vera and Sybil. We live a very hectic and busy life trying to balance kids, family time, housework, and working full-time. I thrive on DIY projects, saving money, and anything homemade. My hope is to share with you an honest glimpse of our life. Thank you for taking the time to watch. :) Leave me a comment and share! xoxo - Krátké a kreslené filmy
I have the easiest tip to NOT CRY when chopping onions! (I know you mostly use your chopper, but in case you don't, try this: wet a paper towel and put it on the cutting board next to the onion. THAT'S IT! Apparently, onions have an acid that's attracted to water, which is why they attack our eyes. But the paper towel attracts the acid instead because it's more water. I can't believe this trick; you should try it and tell your other subscribers! The fact that I've been chopping them for years without this trick is incredible. No more tears, hahaha 🤯
I’m definitely going to try this!!
Brilliant 👍 thank you 😊
I tried this and I still cried :(
@cheyennefry Oh no! Did you get the paper towel really wet? Like sopping wet? It works best like that. Maybe your eyes are more sensitive? It's worked for everyone I've told.
@@thesimplifiedsaver7052 I need to know when you try!
If you double the recipes, you can freeze it & pull it out when you don't have a clue on what to cook or for whatever reason. I had cataract/glaucoma surgeries at the beginning of 2020, I double 4 recipes & it was enough for 16 meals over my healing process.
yes i love to do that too!
I do this also with casseroles and shepherds pie! So convenient
Use a fine grater and grater off the burned part. We use to have to do this everytime my mother in law made cookies.
Thanks for the tip! I will have to try
I've made this before is so delicious but I added some sliced onions in mine gave it a lot of flavor
I line my cookie sheets with parchment paper before I bake anything in the oven. Everything cooks better - especially biscuits! Plus, the clean-up is easier and my cookie sheets stay new looking!
Great idea!! i need to do a better job of doing that
Yes! I bought the chopper and it came in. I saw how easy it was when you were cooking with one child on your hip using the chopper. I also picked up the silicone baking mats. Love these vids keep’em coming!!
I tried the Italian chicken recipe last week and my family loved it! I’m trying the sausage and potatoes tonight.
Thank you for taking the time to post the recipes at the bottom. Really appreciate that! ❤️ another great video!

I love these recipes. They are just my cup of tea. , so to speak. !!!! It looks like good comfort food. Thank you so much & God bless you. 💙💚💛🧡❤
When I cook biscuits I always put butter on the pan so they don't burn. I also found some butter flavored cooking spray. I used the cooking spray for the biscuits and it worked awesome. I found the butter flavored cooking spray at Walmart.
Wow I'm amazed by the amount of can food you use! I'm not used to see this kind of food growing in a chinese family
Merica
The chicken pot pie recipe i didn't have the soup, so used creamed corn, was awesome, when do in 7qt gonna use 1 each🤠, creamy italian chicken can add 1/2 cup water xtra and add egg noodles, dont have yo boil. 'hamburger helper' a favorite, can do anything with it, anything lol. Oh love channel, im shy commenting but this came up again in hone page, wanted to share. Tyvm
I LOVE your new kitchen [:
First of all, love the videos. I found you about a week ago as I was looking up easy crock pot meals to make. I work long days as a nurse and a good crock pot meal saves my life! Going to try the chicken pot pie tomorrow for sure... looks yummy!..and I'll let my husband or grown sons make the biscuits.before I get home.... then if they get burnt, oh well...not my fault! Ha! 😀 God bless you and your family. Thank you for finding the time (I don't know how you do it) for making these videos.

I love them too! Do you ever add fresh vegetables as a side or in place of canned?
You are so lucky. My family either can't or wouldn't eat these. I would though. They sound delicious.
Your white lace shirt is the cutest cant wait to try these
Thank you! It’s actually a swim cover up 😅
I have made your crockpot olive garden chicken before the last time you shared it... yummy 😋 then I saw the tic toc pasta thing and I started adding cherry tomatoes and some feta it too 🤗 so now I call it the Tic Toc olive garden dish 🤗 Thank you so very much for sharing easy crockpot meals 😋
Love your videos 😊
Thank you
Yay early bird 🐦
Another great video ❤️ this content
Thank you!
What spices make up the Uncle Chris' blend please? All look yummy!!
Going to have to try that hamburger helper!
I am dad, just trying to find easy and cheap recipes, so thanks so much for the excellent ideas. I had a question: in the pot pie recipe, how would you have used the onion that you forgot to put in? Thanks again!!
Hello, love this video. I cook a lot in my slow cooker. I would like to know what was the seasoning you used on the sausage and potatoes. Thank you
great recipes .....💚💜
Thank you 😊
They all are great recipes tfs 👍😊
You are so welcome
😋 Yummy
thank you!
Always use parchment paper when baking biscuits or cookies. They will never burn on the bottom unless you bake them too long.
I got the onion chopper and recently I got the pasta drainer 👍👍
Now you are ready to go!
I can’t wait to use some of your recipes after I get married in September. My fiancé will be so happy. He is a chef and I know the last thing he will want to do is cook when he gets home. 😊
For the biscuits I stopped cooking them in oven. I cook them on stove top melt butter in pan put them in then flip half way best biscuits you’ll ever have ☺️
These recipes are right on my alley. I can't wait to make them. I want to share a tip from my son's pediatrician. A few years ago, she told me to cut the hot dogs and sausage lengthwise before I cut them on small pieces, not to cut them round because the round pieces are the same size as kid's throats and could be a shocking hazard. I hope this is helpful :)
Believe me food is the least of your concern kids put all kinds of stuff in the mouth good luck.
I’ve heard that too. I wouldn’t have thought of that.
@@MrBakedDaily no, even past the age of kids putting things in their mouths they can choke on food. Hot dogs is #1
I’ve heard that too! I always cut them smaller when I serve their plates
I love the fact that you showed the burnt biscuits and you forgot to put the onion looks very tasty😂 seriously I’m gonna try this
Definitely going to try the sausage a potatoes! You didn’t need water?
Chicken pot pie biscuits looked really nice. The last time I cut white onions, I thought my eyes would fall out of my head, they were so powerful it really made me tear up. A chopper would have been so nice to have. I bought a little hand chopper, but you have to put like 1000 lbs. of force behind it to get it to work. So it is basically useless. Maybe putting your biscuits on a piece of parchment paper would help. They also make cookie sheets, that are two layers, with an air layer between the bottom sheet of metal and top sheet of metal, which is supposed to give you a more gentle even heat. Perhaps your cookie sheet was to low in your oven and too close to the heating element. Oh and buy a cheap - hang in your oven - thermometer, perhaps you oven temp is off and is running hotter than what your dial says. Most ovens get out of whack eventually and run too hot or too cold. Especially if you have a 'slide the bar over' to clean your self cleaning oven, that can tend to throw off your temp in your oven, as it gets your oven very hot to burn off all the burned on food. A thermometer is a good idea for your refrigerator and freezer too.
These look DELISH!!!!
Two solutions for the burnt biscuits or even for burnt cookies. I know it's not ideal but it can save the day to some degree. You can either use a cheese grater or lemon zester and scrape it off or if you're really good with a very sharp knife you can just cut a very small layer off of the burned portions.
Try running your onion under cold water for at least 15-30 seconds, I do that ever time bc I chop or dice onions everyday and I haven’t cried while doing it since I started running it under cold water
These recipes look amazing!! Going to use several of them. ❤️
Abby l love your videos!!!❤ l love your long hair❤🎉 you are so beautiful!! God's blessing to you!!!❤
That is a sexy pasta making song. lol
Hi. I can't believe that fed a family of 5 :) Iade this for our family unit of 3 - myself, 19 yr old son & 22 yr old son and found it wasn't enough :/. Delicious though....
I have small children..thats why it fed us
Everything looks amazing!! I’m starving now haha. Thank you for these videos I will try. Also, I’m super curious, how did you learn how to ok all these things? And hacks? Pinterest ideas of parent taught or? Also, you must have a non picky family! My daughter and husband are picky lol.
most of these i have made for a few years but i want to say probably pinterset inspired me
My husband would love the potatoes and sausage. What's the seasoning you used?
uncle chris' steak seasoning
Loved all the crockpot meals you shared. Wanted to ask where do you get your Uncle Chris' seasoning? I think I heard you mention before that you use it a lot. We are planing a trip to TX to see our son so I would like to get some to try it. ;)
You can get it at Walmart. I live in Texas I don't know if that matters
@@debratosch9898 Thank you so much!
I’ve been burning mine too when I put them on sheet pans! Use foil so they don’t burn and spray it
Thanks for the tip!
@@thesimplifiedsaver7052 welcome
@@thesimplifiedsaver7052 parchment paper works even better!
Wow. This is another wonderful set of meals just in time for my grocery shopping trip. We love all of the sausage meals you've shared in the past and I can't wait to try this cheesy sausage meal. Great job! Love the new house.
Thank you❤️❤️
Your dark cookie sheet is what is causing your biscuits to burn. Get a regular aluminum double layer sheet pan and your biscuits shouldn't burn as long as it's not turning dark.
OMG…I am so glad to see that I am not the only one to burn biscuits in the oven…I do it EVERY TIME without fail🤷♀️🤷♀️🤪😂😜🤣
Every time!!!
What is the chopper called that you used to chop the onions?
Love these crockpot meals. Gosh yes, that chopper is the best. As a working mom it saves me so much time. 😇😇 You're the bomb girlfriend. 💜💜 And so glad you guys were okay from your trip. I meant to say it on your last vlog, but I have my squirrel moments. LOL
THANK YOU 😚
@@thesimplifiedsaver7052 you're welcome. 😌
What is the link for the onion chopper like yours?
Awesome video! Do your kids always eat what you make?
Yes they do
@@thesimplifiedsaver7052 oh thanks for responding. I didn't expect that. I always comment on other youtubers but never get a response. Awesome. Loved your nails in this video. Do you do them yourself or go get them done ?
With the sausage and potatoes, can someone make their own 'Uncle Chris's'?
We don't have that in Australia.
Looks damn nice anyway.
I will definitely have to check that out!
You can put the crockpot dish without the lid in the oven safely up to 400°.
Yes!
Can you post budget meals for people who don't like beans?
Four of those meals don’t include beans
Do you use a slow cooker with a timer? If yes, any recommendations?
Yes I do! I have pioneer woman but this is something similar amzn.to/3qSNvIt
I think the pickiest man on the planet might eat a couple of those!
Thank you! That’s definitely a compliment
I call those noodles pigtail pasta. Lol 🤷🏻♀️ I love them. I'm totally gonna try some of these.
Also, why didn't I think of just chopping the sausage in half in the plastic?? Oi. 🤦🏻♀️
Your chicken pot pie recipe is very similar to mine, but I always add a diced up can of whole cooked potatoes 🥔 too. You could use your onion chopper to dice them. I add all the liquid from the can too cause it adds a nice flavor, and the starches in the liquid thicken up the broth. Surprisingly the potatoes don’t get mushy. Adjust your liquid (milk) accordingly.
I mix in separate bowl: generic tomato soup generic cream of mushroom and generic Lipton onion soup and pour that over and then cook in slow cooker.
I’m going to have to try this!
What was your favorite dish out of all these crock pot meals?
The Italian chicken!
