Dino, thank you for this wonderfully made video. I’ve always had some anxiety about changing my own oil, but this video has really helped me to better understand the process and ease my worry. I will attempt to change my oil soon. Thank and hope to run into you! - a fellow Ontario Jeeper

Hey Julius, Thank you for your feedback. I've done every oil change on my Jeep since new, saved a lot of money, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that I've been looking after my own Jeep. Maybe after a couple of DIY oil changes, you'll be interested in saving even more money (100's of dollars) doing your own differential oil changes too!! It's very easy...check it out here...czcams.com/video/wW_l0AEY6wg/video.html
Let me know how you make out.
      Cheers.

Hey Pretzel, Thank you for the feedback. It wasn't great fun doing videos in the winter though. :-)

Good video with detailed explanation. I used to do the same on my old chevy blazer. But know I have a new Jeep and wondering if changing engine oil myself could void the new car warranty?

I’ve read on many places online where they say it won’t. I even asked my dealer and they said just keep the receipts when you buy the oil and filter. You should call or email your dealer and see what they say for peace of mind.

My ram 1500 has the 3.6 and it calls for 6qts of oil. Why does this one require only 5?

In 2018 when the Wrangler JL first was launched, the Pentastar Upgraded engine was released. It’s referred to as the PUG. It included a smaller oil pan some internal changes and 0W20 Synthetic oil required. One of the outcomes is supposed to be better fuel efficiency. No complaints from my end. On the hwy I can regularly achieve. 9.7 L/100km, which is about 24 MPG US. , or 29 MPG (UK).

Where are you getting all your torque specs? Can’t find service manual online

I mentioned in my tire rotation video that I googled “Wrangler JL Torque Specs Forums”. If you do that you will get a long list of forum links to the tables. Pick any one of the links. Let me know if you have trouble finding them. The following link is the forum I use often. www.jlwranglerforums.com/complete-torque-values-for-jeep-jl-wrangler/
