    That’s an impressive result on a stock short block 2.5. I’d love to see what it could do with an upgraded pair of camshafts, I image it would really rip.

    Nice work Dan,
    do you think 44 t/bs are optimum for the 2 litre?
    I presume you’ve tried the 48’s and they were too big?

    • @DanstengineeringCoUk

      Up to around 230-240bhp, after that then yes 48mm

    Any plans to make an itb's kit for the mx5 nd1-2 ?

      Hi, not on an MX5 but we ran a fiesta ST150 on a very similar kit using ZX10 throttle bodies. This produced 180bhp with a free flowing exhaust manifold and system. We would expect to see very similar on the MX5 but no doubt with greater torque due to the VCT.

      @Theyefull Před 3 lety +3

      Has already been tested,one customer yielded 203 hp with 45 mm tb's in a standart 2.0 mx5 nc.
      You should expect about 200hp on the Mx5 2.0 mzr/duratec with a free flowing exhaust manifold and 45mm tb's.
      Altough the fiesta and mx5 shares same base block, its not exactly the same engine and the MZR on the mx5 produces a tad more power with similar mods.

    I think you would gain a nice flat torque curve with the vvt & bike throttlebodies will restrict your power to 200bhp also

    • @DanstengineeringCoUk
      @DanstengineeringCoUk  Před 3 lety +2

      The vct is running here, hence the nice torque (turn it off and we loose about 25lbft!). The bike bodies will be good for much more, we've had high spec zetecs do 240bhp on 44mm gsxr bodies

  • @driver46

    How much WHP did you gain by just adding IBT ? I am very tempted to add this to my track NC 2.5 camed.

    • @DanstengineeringCoUk
      @DanstengineeringCoUk  Před 3 lety +1

      We've not run a 2.5 without ITB on our dyno so hard to make a direct comparison. But 20whp would be a cautious estimate

      Interesting. Do you know if there are multiple head castings found on the 2.5? I'm trying to find out exactly which motor to look for at the junkers here in the States.
