    I love the binary VVT control you ended up using, it sounds like VTEC crossover in the best way.

    Finding the right TDC pin is a pain in the butt! They're only just available for the 2.0 MZR with forged crank. I had to make my own out of threaded rod. Luckily I was starting with a timed engine so I was able to do that

    January Sale on all DCOE ITB kits including the Duratec (and Fiesta ST150), use code 'merrydcoe': danstengineering.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&search=duratec%20dcoe%20throttle%20bodies

    I might be wrong but it looks like you might have used the wrong TDC pin to set the crank at TDC.....that looks to be the pin that's used on the older Zetec motors

    • @DanstengineeringCoUk
      @DanstengineeringCoUk  Před 4 lety

      turns out you were right on that! the kit had both Zetec and Duratec pins (the duratec one was MIA and it was assumed that the only pin in the box was the correct one!).

    I know I’m a bit late to the party but is the 2.5 a better option over the 2.0 or 2.3? Bigger is usually better but are there any downsides over the other two engine sizes?

    I want to ask a question I build the US version of the Ford escort I have been doing zetec swaps for years the cars in the United States originally had a split port 2.0 liter engine my question is concerning a duratec swap I plan on taking a 2.5 from a fusion the same as the engine your using and a 6-speed manual transmission and swapping it in a escort the only issue I will have is controlling the engine what would be the best option to control the engines basic functions and be able to use the the variable valve timing without losing any horsepower?

    • @DanstengineeringCoUk
      @DanstengineeringCoUk  Před 2 lety

      The ME221 is a well priced EFI ecu and comes with a duratec loom which will get you 90% plug and play, depending what TPS you use etc. This ecu fully controls the duratec vct (the only ecu in this price bracket to do so).

Well done on this build sir👌You mind sharing what the cam timing and ignition timing was on this build?
