What I love about this scene is that we see how everyone fights in a wild, violent way, without thinking while Kingsman fights in a much more tactical way based on his experience, thinking about every shot and movement but with a small level of extreme savagery. especially in the final part.

This is my favourite fight scene of all time for the simple fact that it has nothing to do with the trope of luck, or superpowers, or anything like that. Harry survived due to his brilliant skill, quick thinking, and agility. He barely broke a sweat and he did it himself. This is a fight scene I believe every action movie director should watch at least once. Effort is all it takes, and you can tell so much love and affection went into all 3 Kingsman films (so far).

Let's be honest: the weak point of this fight is, that we only see like 3 guns in an american church with 100 people and one belongs to a Kingsman.
@BlackWatchAmbush hey i resemble that
@Supiamco well, I didn't count them, I just guessed ;) still small for an american, probably republican church :P
@Supiamco alr?
Yeah judging by this church is used by a radical group there was an underwhelming amount of guns, especially when this place is in Kentucky
@Supiamco its 3. The 4th guy you saw is the 3rd guy
The most unsettling part about this is that Harry doesn't become a maniac, he's not fighting like a berserker with no thought for his own safety and survival, only the death of his opponents; he's using his training to it's fullest. He doesn't waste shots, he makes the effort to finish off people who are down but not out, he uses all the gadgets he has competently, and he takes steps to give himself the best chance of living, dodging attacks, using others as shielding, etc. It's one thing to turn a room into mindless killers, but this is something else entirely.
eh, it made them hyper-violent, for someone untrained that means mindless violence. But someone like a soldier, or a kingsman, has stuff trained to the point of instinct. He doesnt think about what he has to do, because he knows it better than his own mother.
I personally have the deepest admiration for Harry. And I respect that he went out with a bang.

Probably 1 of the best fight scenes in the decade, which doesnt involve superpowers just pure skill, and also very..brutal
Imagine if they gave him the supersoldier serum
Well I Think all of the best fight scenes (in 21st century cinema) belongs to Raid 1-2. But this one is pretty good, but not brutal enough.
In that vein, Netflix's The Punisher did a good job as well.
Raid and Punisher for sure but also a few scenes from the John Wick movies.
you should take a look at the shoot out in the tarkov movie, theres a really fucking intense gun battle and it makes you feel horrible for both sides involved. excellently done
The perfect scene for this song. A battle so large, where the winner is only the survivor. Pure chaos in every corner of the frame, minimal cuts, only pure bloodshed. The perfect scene to capsulate what it’s like listening to Free Bird.
If you notice, at 3:18, when Harry is confused and deafened by the explosion of the grenade, you can see two people in the background, a guy in yellow and a guy in blue, and if you could see correctly, we can see they are also deafened by the explosion putting their hands over their ears as they are slightly stunned and confused for a few seconds before the signal picks up again.
Small detail...
Copied ahh comment
very good point, i hadn't noticed that before. They're also immediately taken out by people who weren't affect by the blast too. very nice little detail.
Yeah. And you can see the horror in his eyes too as he can’t hear the signal anymore so he realises “what have I done, what’s going on?”. The same thing was probably happening to the other two deafened guys as well.

You know one thing I don't think anyone has pointed out is the colours, everyone is wearing some form of beige or a muted colour, but Harry's Suit is sharp, its darker colour stands out, meaning that you instinctively look towards him, and all the other people blend together just due to sheer colour.

I would easily put this in the "Top 10 of Greatest Cinematic Actions Scenes of all Time". The editing, chorography, music, it's all perfect.
Subtle detail that's easily missed: when Harry fires the first shot, he doesn't actually fire the pistol. The blast comes from the large tube underneath the barrel, a single-shot underbarrel shotgun. Totally excessive, and from a tactical standpoint kind of a waste of the feature, but he was just so bloodthirsty from the signal and she was just so awful that instead of just putting a bullet in her brain he _blew her damnhead off._

This has to be one of, if not the best fight scenes ever choreographed. Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Free Bird' is perfectly timed to the many gun shots, punches and other combat maneuverers throughout the fight. The editing of the song is spot on when it cuts in and out from the action ( e.g: When Valentine is watching out the window of the house and the drums begin to beat louder and louder until it cuts back into the church for one last time ). What a masterpiece.

Almost the entire fight (and i said almost because i don't know if they show the reactions of the two characters watching this) its literally, never said it better, done in one shot. Im not saying the entire choreography was done at first try, im saying from the way it looks: The madlads did a millions shots to catch the entire scene without change to any other camera, angle or cutted frame... i don't really know if i explained myself.
This is, arguably, a freaking piece of violent art.
Yes, but according to the director, the shot in which Harry's body blocks the entire camera was spliced with another shot to create a better combination. Still, Collin Firth's fluidity puts the entire scene together beautifully.

There are many really good fight scenes in movie history, but this is the absolute best of them all IMO.. As I've come to understand it this scene was the crucial point in giving Colin Firth the role; he had to buff up a little and get into shape in about 6 months or so to actually be able to pull it off. If he physically couldn't make it he wouldn't have gotten the role, but he said 'yes' and then it was a hit and miss thing. And then he delivered majestically, taking it beyond anything previously made. This gentle and polite, highly sympathetic gentleman showed us what a stone cold killing machine looks like. Respect for this man's acting prowess.
amazingly the actor is not even an action guy yet he pulls it off to perfection.
Ok
Oh, he is now! Dude trained for 6 months for this film
That’s what people thought about Bob Odenkirk in Nobody, and he pulled it off extremely well
Also the whole scene contains shocking long sequences unlike most Jason Bourne's style movies with ultra short cuts.
Yeah, Colin Firth was mostly known for his work in drama films and rom-coms prior to starring in Kingsman. A similar thing recently happened with Bob Odenkirk in Nobody. No one saw him as an action guy and he pulled it off quite well.
It's always fun to see an actor play against type and do a film that you wouldn't expect them to do.
"Where you going?"
"Oh I'm just going to the bathroom."
"Oh okay."
