So unlile 1 v 1 one after another they use the enviorment and the attqckers themselves to win. As even with training they are still human.

What is cool about this scene is that after the glass smash, four of the five remaining blokes look for a moment like they probably realize fighting this guy wouldn't be the smart play. But there's always one idiot who gets everyone else in trouble.
Colin Firth is just an amazing actor.
I made a Top Five list and he was Firth.
Great scene, that’s the one thing I really miss about the 007 movies, 007 doesn’t incorporate super cool tech with fighting anymore. That was a big part of the appeal, the wearable spy gear, the exotic sports car with the super cool tech, the Bond charisma, the Bond dress to impress style, and the beautiful Bond women that 007 easily seduces. Many of the things (but not all) this movie did better than the Bond movies of late.
why fight when you got a gun
Guns are the first response of a murderer and the last resort of a coward - real men settle their differences with fists not weapons if nessary but the truly wise man solves the problem with words. Have you never heard of two men getting into a fight over something and then becoming best friends afterwards?
Lon Knight Clearly you’ve never seen a Clint Eastwood movie
@@jackb.2245 Love those Clint Eastwood movies especially "Any which way you can." But the point I was making is this was not a situation for guns the thug that pulled his gun was totally out of control - he wanted to be the bully but could not handle it when it did not work out his way. That was not a sane response to the situation - if killing someone was the correct response to that fight then the Kingsman would have been doing all the killing.
I always liked the props in Danger Man (Patrick McGoohan) better.
The great thing about this part is that the movie pushes violence and action to a peak during the fight, and when Harry walked back to the table to finish his drink the movie went back to peak calmness. The high contrast between the two situation excites the audience a lot.
Let's not forget they make gore easy r-rated and not hard r-rated
I love that Eggsy knows they mean business and is willing to take the wrap for what Harry said, further cementing his qualities to him.
Many people here are saying this was the best fight scene they ever saw (or in this movie). But for me, it will always be the fight in the church where everyone is killing everyone else. Lovely choreography.
Don't forget the absolute satisfaction
I don’t mean this as a criticism of your point, more just a counterpoint really, it’s difficult to put them together for comparison. It’s like comparing The Nutcracker to Starlight Express. Technically in the same art, it’s very difficult to say one’s better than the other. The two fight scenes were different, to serve different purposes. But yeah, two epic fight scenes in the same film. Bargain.👍.
They really complimment each other, in this one Harry always mantains his composure, his blodd pressure probably didnt even spike. In the other he is fully unhinghed, pulling cartwheels, going for the kills instead of keeping himself safe.

This is still one or my all-time favorite movies. It was over the top in all the right ways. Made the whole "gentleman spy" concept really fun again.
Guy’s got a “amnesia” function in his watch but does not use it again against main villain not a single time 😂
"Main Villain" wouldn't call the cops. He'd be telling on himself. Prolly wants him to remember that ass woopin any way! LOL
This movie is such goofy fun, it puts a whole lot of Bond movies to shame.
It's not that kind of movie.
@@shiroyt4185 Really, it is a pure Bond flick without Bond and, I must to say, the stupidity of many of the Bond flicks, but it embraces that, yet somehow does not quite go off the rails (although it does so gloriously with the exploding heads sequence). And, yes, it is kinda wondrously stupid. Personally, I really like the Danial Craig films I've seen which are back on track, but Bond was never to have been taken very seriously, not even the books, which I've mostly read. You want real spy novels? Try Graham Greene and then hit John LeCarre. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy will blow you away. And there's an awesome BBC production of that with Sir Alec Guiness.
@CobraKyle Ah, come on :) I was pleasantly surprised with Casino Royale. Lot's of Bond mayhem while being oddly close to the book. Definitely better than a lot (a LOT) of earlier Bond's. Oh, and you should see the original Casino Royale, trippy would be the best word. David Niven is Bond. As is Peter Sellers, Woody Allen, and many others. I believe one line is: Don't breath that!! It's deadly lysergic acid!!!! Truly a film of its time.
@CobraKyle I will respectfully disagree with you. The earlier one had very little to do with the book (multiple James Bonds? One of them Woody Allen??). It was meant to be a goof. And it succeeded at that far better than the Dean Martin Matt Helm films (which was a damned shame as that book series were far more gritty and realistic than any Bond book). Still, I've read Casino Royale and the Craig version is much closer than normal to the book than most Bond films. From Russia With Love is the Connery film that came closest to the book, although Dr. No isn't far off either. But, I think we can agree that the first Kingsman is a total joy. Haven't yet seen the second one. Give me time.
@CobraKyle Again, I'll disagree in general. But. We can apparently agree that Kingsmen is awesome, if a bit silly. I have II but I haven't gotten around to watching it because I keep watching the first one. Seriously tho, check out LeCarre. He was in the service when the whole Kim Philby thing unraveled and he novelized it brilliantly. Philby was actually commemorated on a USSR stamp. Philby was the ultimate mole. The BBC production of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is amazing with Alec Guinness as Smiley, a meek, mild soul to the world in general (which is what a spy should be), which Guinness does perfectly. But with a mere change of his eyes, just his eyes, he can become formidable, even frightening. THIS is a spy. BTW, don't bother with the film version. It took the BBC somewhat under 7 hours to get this right and they still left out stuff. No fucking way can you chop it to commercial film length and get it right.
My mum remembers Colin Firth as mr Darcy in pride and prejudice so when she saw this she was like “no Colin no” it was very funny
I actually really liked that movie and I'm a dude, because I like the eloquent speech and the British costume dramas in general. Colin Firth had the repressed emotions required for the role of Darcy dialed in perfectly. The King's Speech - hope you've seen him in that.

If a 50 year old guy in glasses and a suit, wants to fight all of your friends in a bar, you should assume either 1) He is crazy and probably packing and will kill you or 2) he is like ex SAS or Navy Seal and will kill you. Probably best you not fight a guy like that.

@@kiyotaka577
A wise admonition to the young and stupid. Not original with me, I take no credit. "Don't *uck with an old guy. If he's too old to fight he'll just kill you." Wisdom.
After that scene there are at least 6 man that wished they said something like this: ok grand daddy finish your beer in peace!
SAS yes, navy seal!!! not so much.
Dad has talked about how he had a high school English teacher back in rural Iowa in the mid 1950’s that was a little English gentleman and one of the school’s big tough guy football players decided he wanted to cause trouble and put a hurt on this teacher in class one day, so the fool went up to the front of the class and tried to attack him………Dad said that the next thing they knew, the jock was out cold, drug into and deposited in the hallway by this teacher, who then locked the door and went back to teach the day’s lesson. 😶
IF I remember what Dad said correctly, it turned out that this teacher was either former SAS or the precursor to it during WW2. What he was doing teaching English in rural Iowa by the time Dad was a teen, I have no clue, but I’d guess he didn’t have to worry about that happening again with another student!
The brilliant part of this fight is not only did Colin Firth train to do the brawl himself, but it was a perfect counter-argument to Eggy's worldview up until that point about upper class people looking down on everyone else. Harry does well to show that not only is Eggsy partially right, but there are both upper and lower class people who do that (case in point, Dean and his goons).
Yet another reason to love Colin Firth!
Now that is how a gentleman kicks ass. With style
The VERY best Action Comedy scene ever filmed!!! ... I must've watched it over 50 times.
As a kid it was always so cool seeing 007 well dressed while completing the objective. So it's understandable why this scene works so well. Good stylized action with the "manners maketh man" lesson being learned. Even gentleman can teach you a lesson.

That is a plot device that has seen a lot of mileage. It certainly pre-dated "A Bronx Tale." (which was a brilliant film regardless!)
@@bobbyricigliano2799 love Bronx tale. Wish that young actor Lillo had better life choices though. He was really good in that movie. Chazz role was unforgettable too.
