Based on the popular comic strip, this live-action comedy follows the exploits of Garfield (Bill Murray), the large, lazy and wisecracking cat owned by hapless Jon Arbuckle (Breckin Meyer). Jon's other housemate, Odie, is a dim but sweet dog who frequently annoys Garfield. When the conniving orange feline gets fed up with Odie, he devises a way to get rid of the pooch. However, after Garfield has a change of heart about Odie, he must find a way to get his fellow pet back.

I like how Nermal is a realistic cat and Garfield is pure CG, that’s pretty funny.

Garfield and Odie dancing to "Hey Mama" is iconic
It’s believed that Bill Murray only did this because he thought Joel Cohen (the writer) was Joel Coen (the Coen brothers) initially before signing on
I remember having this movie on DVD also. I actually had fun watching this as a kid. It’s almost hard to believe Bill Murray voiced Garfield. That was pretty unbelievable to me. I at least like how cartoony they made Garfield, like the eyes look animated than the rest of the body. With that said, this is pretty much a 2004 time capsule.
Fun fact: For those that don’t know, Garfield’s mouse friend, Louis is played by Nick Cannon
The best thing to come out of this movie was the joke about regarding Bill Murray’s experience with the Garfield films in Zombieland.
Fun fact: The reason why Bill Murray was the voice of Garfield in this movie is because he thought Peter Venkman in the real Ghostbusters was voiced by Lorenzo Music, Bill said his character sounded too much like Garfield, which is ironic, because Lorenzo DID voice Garfield, but then they casted Bill Murray in this movie, and he ends up sounding like Lorenzo Music.
I didn't know until I was 11 that Garfield was CGI. The atmosphere of the two thousandth is magical, such nostalgia of childhood😎😺
Earlier this year, I watched Memento for the first time, and there was a part where I went, "no way, that's the guy from the Garfield movie."
The origin story of how Garfield and Odie first met each other is a great story.
I remember seeing this film in theaters and honestly, it was pretty fun to me. Haven’t watched it in a while so, getting to again with this reaction video makes it a little nostalgic for me.😄
This movie doesn’t deserve the hate

I became a Garfield fan after watching this movie on repeat and reading the Garfield comics as a kid
I would also suggest watching all of The Smurfs movies, including The Lost Village, all three of them are very good.
This movie was my first introduction to Bill Murray as a kid but the only good things about the 2004 Garfield movie in my opinion are Odie and Louis 🤣🐶🐁💕
