Thank you for this video, about to buy an ECM to swap for my Spec-V. Was wary about having it reprogrammed, my 5v reference is shot on my ECM. This gives me confidence in being able to swap out the ECM for the SE-R. I LOVE the Sentra, had it about 10 years now but got a P0320 code and no 5V reference, ran rough at idle, shut off erratically while driving, now no spark as a result of no reference signal. Hopefully this does the trick, inspection is due soon. :S

Im going to make some phone calls and try and find another ECU and see if that works. Thanks Again For Sharing This Video.

Its so funny all the problems you mention in this video, I have experienced problems with the parts mentioned in some way with 3 of these cars I have had. Can't pull codes from my 02, all 3 had coil pack problems, both 03s had bad fuel pumps (i know in his case it was the ecm) and both 03s shut off while driving. Those ended up being the crankshaft sensor though, not super fun to replace. The electronics on these engines just really suck.
Right now my car fails when its very warm, can't accelerate and the car dies. Then I jump it and it kinda works fine then the next day works fine for a long time. Then fails and won't start

Hey thank you for making this video and sharing your experience. I have a 2002 sentra ser and I keep getting the P0031 code for low voltage to the heater circuit in the upstream o2 sensor. Apparently the ECU's for these car's are not very good but the 2004 ECU is one of the best out there is what I'm told from an ECU repair place.
I'm going to take the ECU that is in my car and send it to them to repair and I hope that will the be the end of it but I will let you know how that goes as well. For the repair it is only $120 or so and it also comes with a lifetime warranty.

the ecm is easy to swap out. the problem I was having the scanner would not communicate with ecm. If you are able to connect and read codes the ecm might not be your problem. also check and clean all body grounds for corrosion there are over 10 ground connections

Would you mind telling me how? I still have this kind of car and know nothing. I’m trying my best to get it back working. Got it narrowed down to something with the wiring. And I read on a forum that it had to do with the ground connection but I’m still pretty lost.

Man i think my 2003 altima is doingthe same thing..random stalling ..im thinking its either the coils or its the exu cuz i checked the voltage and ground on each coil pack connector voltage should be between 10-12 volts...now only thing is ubcant check the signal wire with a multimeter and if the car is not getting spark the connectors have voltage and if you just put in new coils..chances are is its a bad ignition relay or or ecm or pcm is not sending a signal to the coil packs..if so time to replace..all though i did get a multiple misfire code so theres a very good chance its bad coils..but we will see hope its not the ecm

I bought 2002 Sentra GXE from auction for 16 years old daughter and it wouldn't start. P0600 and p0335. I ordered new crankshaft and camshaft position sensor. New coils and plugs. I sent ECU to get repairs. They called yesterday and said it's working properly. They saw the codes and reflashed it. They said the p0600 is a wire correded or broken. Where should I begin to look? I also took battery to get recharged. I noticed in video there is yellow by ECU housing around some wires. Can you please send me pictures of where to look? Thanks brother 😁

Since your question did not get answered I will answer it for you, The ECM has to always get Programmed before installing or else you will run into some more problems and the part where you scan it is on the drivers side underneath the dashboard area, kind of by where the pedals are , if you kneel down and look up you’ll see it
