I think this is my favourite one you've made so far. Although its definitely your most traditional solo of the series.
"although" or "because"
@@steveboel12 they said what they said
Best part about this series is more Ben solos! Very inspiring!
This is soooo good. Wow. Love the solo! 👍🏻🎸
Ben, this is my favorite solo of this series so far! Awesome and amazing. Very inspiring, and just sounded cool as hell.
Once again. Very helpful content to ponder on our own journeys. Thanks!
I love you, Ben Levin
im pretty new to guitar. you are blowing my mind with all the nuance. super cool to get some insight into what you’re thinking
cool solo and breakdown, i'm enjoying this series so far.
it's barely related but for years i felt like guitar solos were not very inspiring to me anymore, and i focused mostly on riffs in practice. when i discovered fire-toolz because of your "absence of god" video, her solos were so tasteful and good it really made me want to work on lead playing again. thanks for what you do.
Love this idea! Great interesting bends too.
I love where your head goes You are one of my go-to guys for inspiration
Ben is fr a creative unit
Nice! Makes me wish you'd peppered a few more of the Bent Knee tunes with some licks and phrasing like this. Very cool running through an analysis and description of what you played as well.
love this series :)
Awesome!
I think you played it fairly safe in the first half, but got more creative in the second part of the song. You got more spontaneous & creative and honestly; that's where your technique really shines
i asolutely love these videos
Great video
I had missed watching this video.. and i suddenly remembered today and this instantly makes me feel better and make my mood go weewoo..
I find a lot of value in learning how you frame and listen to your playing. Gives me new ways to think critically about my own playing.
Hey can you do another one of these but it's critiquing a phone call with your wife or mom?
A little trade video of you analyzing Elliott's solo and him talking about one of yours would be very fun.
That was my favorite solo from this series so far
... this is cool. Your comments are very informative. I would love to hear versions with a gentler touch (less heavy pick attack) and w/o pick (fingers only).
Ben! These videos are unbelievably helpful as someone who's learning to solo more good. Do you have these backing tracks available anywhere so we can try soloing on top of them too? I love this one.
instantly reminded me of Chris Christodoulou's works on stuff like Deadbolt and Risk of Rain.
The bend with then a pinky stretch m3 higher is golden. Hard as shit for me to do with my stubbier fingers thoughh. A variant is bend up a whole with first or second finger and then the pinky isn't so much of a stretch (at least for me).
that first lil melodic phrase is the same as the phrase that starts the song My Simple Humble Neighborhood by carole king, music is silly stuff :) loved this solo enjoying this series plenty
will come back with those guitar videos? I rly like it
Hey Ben, I saw your paper cranes on the background. I hope everything is OK in your life. Much love
thanks, but I don't want a minor on a G-string
This is the kind of solo that would be great on stage. Pure crowd work with this solo. Lots of opportunity to engage an audience, which I really think is the point. Show off a bit, get the people cheering.
Hi Ben, I thought it sounded great. So in one of your Bent Knee songs you used what looks like a cut up zip lock bag. Any explanation of why would be appreciated, of course I could just try it😊
Tbh i like this one better than the other solos this week
I love this solo, it kinda sounds like an eastern european rock solo
Very cool. I hear a lot of Vai, be it deliberate or not.
i read somewhere that he's one of Ben's main influences so it makes sense
How long did it take change you’re guitar set up (whammy bar)
🔥🫶🔥🫶🔥
Whoah, can you play something synthy and cool like something they would play on million dollar extreme?
childern of bodom live keyboard solos are so unique .. maybe you could do the Ben Levin thing and do a video on the style. (mess with eq a bit for this ruff live vod) czcams.com/video/kceGRU6GEHM/video.html so many crazy solos in these old bodom videos. I saw them live as a teen 3x times.
Made me think of Marty Friedman.
please put your music or fucking clips of you playing your guitar like this on all music platforms
I just want to say I think your solo was pretty OK. It sounded hard to play, I could listen to it any day. Anyways, I'm all about that whammy bar today.
