We have princes for each of the 7 deadly sins, we have goetic demon nobility, and earth-born sinners who have become overlords. What exactly is the difference between these demons, and which ones are more powerful?

@Irish Jester That there are plenty of toxicity in several parts of the fandom I can agree on, but Viv said in the streams isn't letting threats force things to be canon. She's still on-track with her own and her team's ideas (like canon ships, for instance).

It's an interesting take on Hell. Hell is portrayed as being much like the normal world, but just with exaggerated corruption and depravity, and some supernatural magic thrown in for good measure...

1st- King
2nd- Queen
3rd- Prince/Princesses
4th- Dukes(Goetic Demons)
5th- Lords (overlords)
6th- Knights (Vaggie and other bodyguards and other private militia)
7th- Normal citizens (Imps, hellhounds, normal mortal soul demons)
8th- Slaves and Servants (more imps hellhounds, etc but without the freedom part)

Charlie is both the daughter of Lucifer(the King of Hell) and she is the Princess in charge of the Pride Ring, making her both Princess of Hell and the Princess of Pride
But for example Mammon who has 0 blood ties to Lucifer, has the exact same power and influence as Charlie since he is the Prince of Greed since he is the one in charge of the Greed Ring

My theory is that Alastor is not the reality bending monster that people say he is.
Still powerful enough to overthrow the mentioned overlords, but i believe his abilities are being exaggerated due to his reputation.
This would also be easier for a writing standpoint, cuz if you have a character that can solve any problem, then there are no challanges.
@@Alletra101 Well obviously he can't solver every problem. There are confirmed beings much more powerful than Alastor and some overlords on par with him. He may seem overpowered by what we have seen but that is merely because the other beings will be even more overpowered. So I don't think he is exaggerated at all, in fact I think he is stronger than what we have seen.
@@alexmoreno2481 This could also indeed be the case. I am not suggesting he's weak, but his reputation portrays him as this unbeatable being that can destroy anything and anyone with a snap of his fingers.
Vivzie said Stolas is more powerful than him, and considering he's friends with Rosie, a weak overlord, he's probably not much higher than her.
@@Alletra101 People fear him and his reputation because of what was said in the pilot. When he arrived in hell he already had amassed a lot of power quickly and was able to overthrow several overlords. And then he broadcasted the carnage to the sinners. The sinners are afraid of him and rightly so because to them he could destroy them with a snap of his fingers.

Angels seemingly have the power to erase demons from existence. Evidenced by the fact that, when an Angel kills a demon, they're gone for good and won't "respawn" in some random place in Hell

"they are sinners after all" well, actually, Lucifer is an Angel (THE Fallen Angel) and Lilith a first (failed) generation of Human and mother of the monsters of antiquity. So yeah, sinners, sure, but also hyper powerful divine beings.
which probably means he can kill the residents of hell just like the angels who go to hell for the yearly extermination or whatever it's called can do. And probably means no one else, no matter how powerful they are, can kill him.

I wonder if Charlie could beat Alastor: while she definitely has more raw power than him, Alastor is just a "better" fighter. While I'm not sure (I have only watched the episodes but no podcasts or announcements) it seems to me that Alastor might just beat Charlie with better strategy and smarter use of his lesser power while Charlie can't effectively use her even though she has more. This idea is also supported by the fact that while opening the door to Alastor she seems nervous to let him in which is somewhat odd if she could easily beat him.
Wouldn't be surprised if charlie was nervous about fighting alastor because, being young, she is a bit, shall we say, explosive. And rebuilding the hotel would be rather a lot of work.

But, where does he stand next to the other Overlords? Single-handedly overthrowing centuries old overlords overnight and upon arrival is hardly what I'd call a "weak overlord".

That kinda makes Vaggie's statement grossly exaggerated no? Alastor, "one of the most powerful beings hell has ever seen", is portrayed as being a mortal soul who wields power greater than overlords who "had been dominant for centuries" and is a being who rivals hell's "most ancient and destructive evil". This makes it seem like his level of power is unprecedented never before seen, and that the overlords he bested weren't weak. To have other Overlords be also born from mortal souls and to have them be stronger than Alastor seem to diminish Vaggie's (and by proxy Vivziepop's) hype surrounding Alastor.
I can understand if other mortals became overlords after Alastor, but them being stronger would just make the whole "mortal turned overlord" seem oversaturated and weak. Like, how did they acquire their power. Vaggie implied that Alastor received his power from some "unimaginable force". What? Did the others get the same? Sure makes it less special then, no?

I personally think Alastor will get more powerful as the series progresses. That scene where he is staring at the portrait of the King and Queen makes me think his goal is to reach their position eventually.

"And when the seven rings collapse... " -Is this hinting that something terrible is going to happen to the seven deadly sins, maybe they turn on each other? From what I've gathered, hellhounds might be stronger than imps, although they seem to be slightly lower or similar social class. Blitzo did call for Loona when he and Moxxie were fighting Striker, and I doubt he would've done that if hellhounds were weak. I'm thinking that hellhounds are seen as brutes that are more beastlike and instinct driven, thus being low cast, although I'm not sure if that's a bad thing in hell.

Yeah, because i feel like moxxie to be honest doesnt even seem that evil, like for example when he fucked up the shot in episode 1 because he felt bad for killing a family and stuff, i feel like he would be a great addition to the hotel and charlies idea for helping demons on the path of redemption

I get the impression that Alastor's power pulls from the idea certain serial killers (like the zodiac) have that any victims killed end up serving their killer in the afterlife. Made moreso potent with Alastor since he was a cannibal and anyone he killed he consumed, essentially making them 'part' of himself. I think that explains his ability to summon things like shadow duplicates, etc. I'm sure there are other serial killers in HH's version of Hell, but even IRL cannibal serial killers are a rarity which is why they're so notorious. If sinners killed in Hell by angel weapons end up becoming part of the landscape via absorption, it does seem possible that type of concept could be applied via being consumed as well. It also explains why Rosie and Alastor are fairly low tier in terms of overlord-level power, since in the end they're still relying on the power of (consumed) mortal souls and their kill count may actually be lower than that of the other overlords that were sinners. That's not to say Alastor's power may not be partially innate, but I think it explains why he was able to essentially end up in Hell and start showing off pretty much immediately. So the more evil and proud of it you were in life, the more power you end up with as a sinner in the pride ring of Hell. And Alastor himself is pretty damned smug, as seen in his comic where he gets the two crows to cannibalize each other over a scrap of food. Anybody can sin, but I think to be powerful in Hell you have to have actually been truly evil in your lifetime.

Bro i was thinking similar theories, like with the sinners being more powerful the more trully evil they are. And i like to theorize that sinners sent to hell, unlike hell born people, got sent there for a REASON. But some of the hell born people may not be inherently evil, only born there. But the reason why most of then are anyways is because they grew up around a whole bunch of evil and bad people in hell, like growing up in an abusive house hold in a way lol, idk these are my few theorys

if we go by the christian lore Lucifer was stripped of most of his angelic powers and transformed into satan, or in some cases, satan and lucifer being different people
@@bman296 Satan and Lucifer are two different characters in Hazbin Hotel, so he might still have a bit of angel in him.

Vivzie stated in her 6th stream that Fallen Angel's do have power over demons due to their "good" type of power so they can defeat the demonic "bad" type, but unfortunately she didn't gave further indication of said energy or other characteristics. It resembles like scissors/paper/rock, where angels are the scissor and the demons are the paper. Though she also said that there were other ways for demons to still cause trouble... I guess we have to wait.
My theory is that since demons can't kill eachother, The Radio Demon wants Charlie to use her angel powers to kill demons for him. Weather through manipulation, or some sort of power stealing cerimony.

We're just not gonna talk about how Stolas vaporized an entire solar system while singing one of the most heartfelt and beautiful songs I've ever heard.

Eh, I wouldnt be suprised if Alastor IS the most dangerous demon in hell. Maybe not the most powerful in terms of sheer brute force, but he is very smart along with power. To put it in perspective, Superman is more powerful then Batman, and yet Batman can still defeat him in a fight. That kind of thing. So in a face to face fight, Alastor might lose to some of the more powerful demons, but he would set it up so that he cant lose. Thats just my guess anyway.
I feel somewhat suspicious of Alastor because of how he acts around Charlie. His line "If I wanted to hurt you, I would have done so already," seems out of place for someone who shouldn't be that powerful compared to Charlie. The scene where his appearance is first explained makes it sound like there's something weird going on with where he got all of his power.
I think that Alastor would Not hurt Charlie in a physical but mental way. He knows that Charlie ist Stronger than him. So I think he'd rather kill vaggie,Angel etc. or destroy the Hotel. After all He knows He could kill Angel and that it would hurt Charlie. But thats Just my theory.
Um the The Von Eldritch family can be seen in the hotel background next to the magne family. The demon that looks like a spider/vampire is Zestial 😅

It could be a reference to Dante's Inferno which describes nine circles of Hell and is a popular translation of the idea, not necessarily based on the canon interperetation we see in the series
In Good Omens, Crowley jokes during his trial "I don't suppose anywhere in the 9 circles of Hell have they such thing as a rubber duck? Hm?" so yea i think so since it seems to be brought up everywhere. idk i just remembered that from Good Omens

Edit: Also I've never heard her mention demon kings at all. Are you referring to the Overlords and their territories? Because if so that's only in the Pride Ring, so if you're trying to say the Pride Ring is divided into 9 circles of the Overlords territories I'd believe it, other than that no, it's only 7 rings which are ruled by the 7 deadly Princes (including Lucifer in his Pride Ring)
I really thought the Hell Hounds were low on the citizen class. LMAO When Blitz referred to adoption I honestly thought of pet adoption not human infant adoption. I thought he was giving her a gotcha day gift.
For me the Hierarchy is
1 - King (Lucifer)
2 - Sin Princes/Ring Kings (All fallen angels who were Lucifer's generals)
3 - Goetia Demons (All fallen angels who serve Lucifer in the rebelion)
4 - Overlords (the most powerfull sinners)
5 - Average sinners and hellborns
6 - Imps and Hellhounds
I'd say that imps and hellhounds should swap with sinners, whilst hellborns are basically the same as imps
Many speculate that Stolas' relationship with Stella is possibly the result of an arranged marriage, which doesn't always end with both sides being happy.
If Charlie's dad IS the supreme ruler of the Underworld/Hell, it would make sense for him to enforce such a bond between two people. Lucifer/Satan is typically known for relishing in the suffering of others and what causes more suffering than a bad relationship you can't get out of

According to belief in both Christianity and Islam, Lucifer and Satan are described as two parts of the same being. Lucifer being the Fallen MorningStar and Satan being the Vile Seducer of Sin.
It would be interesting in the Hazbin Universe if Lucifer had two personalities. His original persona which is sardonic, dapper and deceitful while his Satan persona is malevolent, manipulative and cruel.

The more you guys talk about this, the more I feel that we haven't seen a *real* overlord, and Alastor warmed up on the weaker ones at the time of his broadcast.
As a person who hasn't really looked into a lot the extra fluff floating out there in regards to the characters we've seen in the backgrounds(being very powerful demons) THIS was very informative and I greatly enjoyed it. :D thank you so much! I would love more!
My theory with Loona is that like most demons with themes, Hellhounds have a specific way of funcztioning. I could imagine since Loona might be "young" she not has the choice to get a better "master" like any dog need a kleader for their group. And since she need to accumulate power by being around someone she choose Blitz since he at least seemed like one of the more capable and able imps in her reach as an "actual" demon is too high above her class for now.
I have a theory about Stolas too, especially cause of his song and why he said "There is only one more story to be told." indicating the end of his life. The whole "extermination" deal between Hell and Heaven sounds for me like something Heaven agreed with Hell centuries ago to prevent an outright war.
Since Sinners might be more in numbers then sin-free people the people in hell might outnumber heaven very soon and so they could be a massive threat for heaven and just overrun them if they would want to. I not seen any reason why Hell-people couldn't get access to heaven if Heaven can send Terminator-Angels down too.
So my idea behind this is that Lucifer or any other big prince/King agreed to sacrifice a certain amount of demons every year and in return heaven keeps their hands off demons like Blitz to not interfere with the human world. And to get back to Stolas, my thought is that Stolas lost so much of his power he is already on the hit-list of the Extermination and KNOWS it, which is why he got the thing with Blitz. About Loona, Blitzo isn't really her master, and I don't think she necessarily chose him. Blitzo is actually confirmed to be Loonas adopted father, this was shown in the pilot of Helluva Boss when Blitzo was giving her a present filled with spiders and he said "Happy Adoption Anniversary" to Loona. There is also their conversations on Instagram that show they have a father and daughter relationship.

I think Alastor may be weaker then he let's on. Especially when he expresses being 'hungry' and the viable dark circles under his eyes when he uses his magic against Sir Pentious.
But in hell you don't want people to know how weak you are. So it would make sense for Alastor to hide that fact and not only act stronger than he really is. But not deny any crazy claims about his power like Vaggie had to Angel.
Actually according to Vivzie he's far stronger than he let's on. So Vivzie saying he's weak might be another storytelling technique
I still think that one of the twists we're going to see later will be that Alastor and Lucifer are one in the same, and that Alastor is just the guise lucifer puts on so that he can go around and mess with things and have fun without it impacting his image as the supreme ruler of hell. Lucifer supporting Charlie with her hotel idea would both lend a lot of credibility to her idea but also damage his position and make him look weak, but masquerading as Alastor, he can support it, lend it credibility and defend it, without it ever hurting his image.
That's just my personal headcanon, time will tell if we're right or not, I just hope that I'm not 50 by the time enough episodes come out for us to have a complete picture of the story.

@@Oatmealism Viv isn't the type to lie about her characters if she doesn't want to reveal something she will either not say anything or say she can't say anything yet. She literally has an entire backstory for Alastor for how he came to hell, his interactions in hell, his enemies and more. If Alastor was just a fake cover for Lucifer she wouldn't have a huge backstory for him. She's even said that Alastor is one of her favorite characters she's ever made. She wouldn't make one of her favorite characters be a fake persona of a different character.
I woulda thought that sinners were below imps. Imps are a class of labourers, whereas sinners' entire presence is a punishment for their wrongdoings.

I still think Alastor is playing mind games to become king just like all the other overlords. Only I perfer how hes doing it. Also, I noticed Alastor is looking at Lilith. We get told hes asexual but his look makes me confused. Does he want to become king and steal her or kill her I cant tell.

My theory is that Alastor would love to kill and eat most of the people he shows interest in. He's shown interest in Charlie and killing and eating another anthropomorphic deer demon, especially the daughter of Lucifer, would be a massive power play.
I perceived that look of his at the painting a look of he was just planning something, not necessarily a sexual look at Lilith. If anything I'd think he'd try to either a) marry into the family and become the next in line ruler by marrying charlie. Which I think is very out of character and not what would happen or b) he wants to get closer to that position by getting more involved with Charlie and maybe even getting her to be dependent on him or be in debt to him. Maybe just generally get considered 'untouchable' just by being involved with Charlie so he has more power.

I think what will eventually happen is that as the series goes on, Alastor becomes more and more powerful to the point where not only regular sinners fear him but almost all of Hell will fear him. I mean vaggie herself said that a soul appearing in hell and then overthrowing powerful overlords is unheard of. If he does in fact know how to kill demons then he’s a lot more powerful than people think
My theory is that making a deal with Alastor is something even powerful beings are scared of. Charlie being the literal daughter of Lucifer seems scared of Alastor, maybe it’s not because of his power maybe it’s the fact that a deal with Alastor is much more than what it actually means.
That demon is not Frederick,as Frederick was pictured in one of the portraits in the hotel along with the rest of his family and both him and his wife looked much more humanoid. The people in the pilot are not the Von Eldritches,they are other,as of now unnamed characters,very likely overlords themselves. The Von Eldritches are another group entirely,definetly themselves overlords,even close to the Magne family.

Alastor Is so interesting so many people fear him, but yet people aren't afraid to attack Charlie who's the Daughter of the strongest Demon in Hell
It’s likely not down to a power level but their individual level of brutality it’s well known that Alastor is super brutal (literally having a radio broadcast of people he’s making suffer) whilst Charlie despite being likely more powerful is known to opt against brutality and violence preferring forgiveness

I have read a theory that I like to think it’s true. It says that Lucifer and Charlie both look alike because technically they are both angels. It kind of makes sense if you think how they look. They have white skin and ruby red cheeks, plus Charlie has an inherent need to make things better, which has been shown to be an angel thing. It would explain why he and his daughter look like they do despite everyone else being a hell’s pawn. They’re really angels stuck in hell.

I always thought Stolas and the other princes were the angels or descendants of the angels that fallowed Lucifer in rebellion against god and were horrifically mutated as punishment explaining why hell has such powerful demons as it does.

I think hell hounds are of a higher status in ability, but not in social ranking, as Loona can do more than the imps seem to be able to do, but is in a subservient category. They also have their own magazine and stuff, so I think they are actually a great portion of this hell's natural born demons.
Well souls are classified as currency in hell so Greed would want the most.
One thing I am kinda bothered by is the fact that Lucifer wasn't the ONLY one who started the rebellion against Heaven. I'd like to think that the OTHER 6 princes are fallen angel 's also.

Well Lucifer and Goethia demons are actually fallen angels. So are the 7 deadly sins. Alastor was just a sinner so in the context Stolas being stronger makes sense.
So basically they built up Alastor as a super strong demonic force, but actually is just stronger than average

From what I've heard, in this universe Satan and Lucifer will be 2 different entities. Whether or not Satan is stronger than Lucifer and is the "god" of hell is yet to be determined. Though I will admit the idea is intriguing.

@@skyomy2881 Experience doesn't come from age alone, more from what you do. Alastor learned a lot about fighting and killing while he was alive. Maybe Charlie had fighting training, like most real royal offspring, but that's more a thing for males than females
