Mad respect for Martys’ respect for the founders.
I remember the CMA show where they pretty much passed the baton to Marty ... their last song was "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" .

I love watching Marty. If he has a guest who built country music he gives them the respect they deserve. His show has so many of the founders of country music--which makes his show one of a kind. The historical record he has developed is priceless.
Earl was a national treasure , there will never be another one
when was this recorded?
Love Miss Connie! ❤️
Marty’s show and talent is absolute genius; running the gamut from Bluegrass and Classic Country to Rock’n’ Roll.
Several years ago I rode my motorcycle all the way from Louisville Kentucky down 31E all the way to Tennessee. I went to Earl Scruggs house. I rode by. The gates were open. I wish I would have stopped and knocked on his door. Just to thank him and shake his hand. Now I don’t have that chance.❤
.. that was sublime.....I could literally hear the theme to Beverly Hillbillies.....thank you Marty 👍
These guys always looking like they having a good old time
Oh, that was stellar! Earl Scruggs 😍, the 'Apostle' Paul Martin's gorgeous voice and playing, and the incomparable Connie Smith. Plus the Fabulous Superlatives living up to their name! 10/10! 🌟
Earl's grandson joins the Fabulous Superlatives in a few years.
Yep! Very Cool.
Great to see the fabulous Jason Carter on the show!!
One of THE true geniuses of our time, Scruggs. You cant teach what he has
Haven’t seen anyone do it as good as Earl, but Charlie Cushman.
I recommend buying the albums Flatt and Scruggs in Carnegie Hall and Flatt, Scruggs and Doc Watson's Strictly Instrumental. They are gems.
Kenny playing that Jaguar!! And that blackface Bassman amp! Cool stuff. And that fab harmony on "Express"! And that Gospel song was gorgeous, and thank Jesus for it. That "Foggy" was smokin'!
My hero’s. Meanest pickers ever
I Thank GOD for Marty Stuart and his beautiful Bride, i have learned so much through Marty.i have the books he produced and i love the history of music in general.but Marty brings it to the front row,i live close to Bakersfield and had the honor of seeing them there. They all signed my guitar. And i watched the PBS special Country Music and saw Marty on that Ken Burns makes the best documentaries ever,i have learned alot from Marty.Chris Scruggs tears that pedal less steel up, Kenny just kicks back and plays everything,Handsome Harry and the beat goes on.No leader in my mind all are brothers in Music, boy i would hate to be a judge between Ricky Skaggs and Marty they are two of the best!!!!!!!!We gonna have to have a play off between them two.Now that would be a show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the time I've ever seen Earl play the guitar!!

This is just one- there are several on here from their old TV show
Mother Maybelle taught him her licks. Especially "You Are My Flower".
Just beautiful music
Earl generally played guitar on the slow songs because his banjo lacked the tone & sustain needed at a slower tempo. He kept his banjo head notoriously tight to give it that sharp, edgy sound, but it just doesn't work on ballads.
It's good to see Leroy is keeping ol Stringbeans going.
Gotta love him!!
I love these beautiful entertainers!!!
The American Superlatives are just great, keep up the good work Poison Ivy Lovers!!!!
Love these guys!
I absolutely love you guys!!!
Had the honor to meet Earl when he came to Shelby some years ago for a sign dedication. One of the nicest fellers you would ever meet.
Great Singer. Love him
So happy I’m came across this show , thanks poison ivy this show just makes me feel at home, gives me a calm place to be , moments of joy in this crazy world Don’t know any better way to describe it Mahalo🤙🏻🌺🙏🏻🇺🇸
The man is legendary
Hi Everybody, I just watched an interview with Bill Anderson and the interviewer asked Bill, What do you think Conway will say when he sees Loretta? And without any hesitation he said. Hello Darlin nice to see ya, it`s been a long time.... Whispering Bill just always knows the perfect thing to say, made me cry anyway.
Marty is a Genius
Marty and his band are crazy... good 🎸🥁
Earl might have been old, but that gentleman certainly retained a nimble mind and nimble fingers!
miss this show
Earl Scruggs 🪕💓
I love Earl Scruggs
What year was this?
I’ll be there in 20 m - great
Great fiddling from Jason Carter!
miss Pauls smile
This is real country music, as opposed to what goes for country music today which is CMINO, Country Music In Name Only.
Anyone know what year this was broadcast on RFD channel? Got to be one of the best episodes ever of Marty's show w/ Earl Scruggs as his guest. And now Marty's got Earl's super talented grandson Chris playing bass in his band. Only thing better would be to get Paul Martin back with his million-watt smile, great voice and bass playing and let Chris move to the steel guitar as he is a master of it. Oh how I wish.
HOWDY September 10

pig iron refers to hub caps for cars,. I've heard that term before as I did use to listen to NASCAR racing.
Pig iron refers to the Cast Ingots, of raw Iron............
"pig i·ron
/piɡ ˈī(ə)rn/
noun
crude iron as first obtained from a smelting furnace, in the form of oblong blocks"
Not to discredit you or anything Mister.....
just the truth, nothing else
How does this vid get any dislikes...much less 6?!
Aired Nov 2008
Is Kenny playing a lake placid blue Jaguar. In the 21st Century country the way it's supposed to be is alive.
ELVIS A. PRESLEY IS 89 YEARS OLD TODAY....I FIGURE THE WORLD IS SO TWISTED THAT IF PAUL McCARTNEY DIED IN `66 THEN ELVIS MIGHTA SURVIVED `77
Is that Steve Bannon?
17:16 I truly hope everyone there believes Christ died for their sins, was buried & rose again the 3rd day, according to the Bible and not just singing a song.
What bothers me is that they’ve got the poor announcer standing there like a lemon right though the show
@@johnlawrence2757 But probably payin the bills because of it though.
@@johnlawrence2757 OK. Thanks for that. I still hope they believe the Gospel that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day for our justification, according to the Scriptures
@@johnlawrence2757 Maybe I'm having an off-day on my end. But, I'm not following the connection you're making with that passage and them making the TV show.
@@johnlawrence2757 It's the Bible that tells us we must believe the Gospel of the grace of God because of the Cross of Christ. He has also given the responsibility to those who believe that message, as broken as we are, to share that same message. I am merely expressing my desire, hoping they believe that Gospel and are not merely singing a song like any other song.
Isn't Chris his grandson?
no that was really Earl Scruggs. i'd like to know what year and month and day this was?
