I think forgiving myself is helping me pull out of that trap. If i think it’s too much to forgive, I break it off into smaller pieces. I separate the actions in my control from the factors out of my control, and then think through the circumstances of what was in my control. I’ll go over my actions like I’m evaluating a friend if i need to. This is just what I’ve been doing to work through toxic shame, a little at a time, and I’m just a person who noticed that I can’t actually improve and grow if my overwhelming shame is keeping me from processing parts of my life, and thus keeping me from what I could work on in myself if I want to be a better person. But obviously this was unsolicited, so feel free to ignore if it doesn’t meet a need, maybe it will help someone.

His enthusiasm and general positivity helped shape my life for the better. To have a more positive outlook. Then I find more self help channels, with general life progression and self reflection along the way.
