    Welcome to yet another product review from my garage! This time I'm looking at the Bosch PSB 1800 LI-2 Cordless Combi Drill with Two 18V Batteries. I use this set all the time, around the house for DIY jobs and also on the cars you can see elsewhere on the channel, it's great!!!

    Thank you for this review. I ordered one after seeing this (and a few other reviews) and I am confident that I will get what I need when the drill arrives. It is hard to make a choice sometimes from the silly number of options available on-line, but good reviews make it a lot easier.

    Great review. I have the same drill and its light, powerful, (more torque than the PSB18 Li2). the only issue is the keyless chuck needs care and some force to ensure a good grip on the drill bits. And the Batteries are a stupid price... A bit of profiteering by Bosch I guess. On the plus side picked up a Bosch PDR 18 Impact driver (body only) but the same batteries fit, for £39 which frankly will do for 99% of my DIY needs. So far its fitted quite a large decking project, a new fitted kitchen and a garage / workshop and never skipped a beat. Great value.... Great Welsh accent btw..... 😉👍

      Thank you! I think it’s a great tool. Like the sound of the impact driver, will have to look into that!

      Thank you! The MG is an ongoing project that I’m trying to keep on the road as much as possible. The Morris Minor was more of a feat haha!!!

    Will this drill be good enough for drilling through concrete?

    • @scoobydan1585

      AdultGamer At the 3 minute mark he talks about drilling all the concrete wall when he moved into his house

      I have drilled through plenty of concrete, yes, mostly walls around home for hanging pictures and shelves

    are the blue professional ones better?

    • @restosaga
      @restosaga  Před 4 lety +1

      I believe so, yes! Likely to be stronger but I have no first hand experience. Definitely more expensive though. I suppose it depends what you need them for.

    Your video is great but has a missing scene. How to insert the battery in the charger. I do not know how to do it. So complicated. Thanks.

      Push down at the back of the battery brute strength and ignorance needed. Charge indicators useless. Drills not bad though

      I hadn't used my drill for a while, and unsuccessfully tried to charge the batteries. I had forgotten how to do it! I had to come to this site to find out. The video was no help! Thanks for the advice of 'brute strength'. It worked!

      a hammer drill means it can drill solid concrete. the action also has a woodpecker-effect.it "hammers" as it rotates

    Im sorry for being honest, this isn't the best review for a champion like this. I work in solar, and this is the best drill I have ever seen. You might say I've been through hell with this drill but I think 1 battery can hold out longer than I can in the sun

    I bought exactly the same combi drill two years ago for some DIY. It has only had very light use. I recently used it to drill twelve 10mm diameter holes, 18mm deep in softwood. The chuck has subsequently seized up. I have been onto the Bosch website to get support for instructions to replace the chuck. The Bosch website is absolutely useless. Zero customer support. I will definitely not be buying Bosch again. An expensive mistake on my part.

  • @jeremywright5453
    @jeremywright5453 Před 3 lety +2

    The battery is a real pain to put on the charger. It's not intuitive or clever just brute force.

    • @restosaga
      @restosaga  Před 3 lety +1

      Think so? I find if you keep the battery attached to the drill it works much better installing it on to the charger.
