- The Diamabrush is the best paint stripper that I have ever found. I will demonstrate its use on 200 square feet of painted Cedar Siding.

Wow! I've seen lots of strippers "in action", and I must say, never has one cleared that much wood in just one hour. You've got yourself a keeper right there. 😉
Thanks for watching and the kind words Michelle. There was a little sanding and scraping in the corners, but it saved a lot of time in the bulk of it. There's a longer version of this in the description showing all of that.
I am currently renting next-door to a family who is having their house repainted. There is a wall that they are working on. It’s been easily over a week of chipping and sanding. At some point you would think there’s gonna be some faster way. This looks like a great option. It’s painful watching these guys. Take so much time on such a project.
The brush works but you’re the one that did the fine job.
Thanks Tmaddrummer!
It did an amazing job in 1 hour. That's great coverage in an hour.
Thanks for watching and the kind words Appliance dude! Of course there was a little bit of scraping involved to get into the tighter areas and some random orbit sanding, which could be expected. I got lots of negative comments from people saying that the paint was falling off by itself. I tried many other ways and it was not falling off by itself. This was the only way that made any progress in a short amount of time. If you look through my longer videos I did a longer length video describing all of this.
@@themostlymikeshow2582 I stripped an entire car, top and bottom by hand so I understand. Keep doing what you do✌️
Holy cow! I bet that was a chore! Anything that saves time on a job like that is probably worth whatever they are charging for it! Lol
Looks gorgeous
Thanks Samuel!
that is so damn good
Thanks Ryan. I highly recommend it for removal of paint like this. There's a longer video on this channel where I go into more detail about the Diamabrush.
Just a reminder to check for lead paint first; perhaps he said this somewhere and I missed it.
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic, good job!
Thanks for watching and the kind words Doris!
Wow amazing
Thanks for watching Susie!
😮cool
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!
Was it difficult to keep the scrapper from digging into the wood leaving grooves?
You would think that it would difficult, but it sort of floats. It doesn't take long to get the hang of it.
Can you do a video with thick paint
Thanks for watching. Sorry, but I am not a painter. That video was made on a random home project. If I do run into something with thicker paint though, I will definitely make a video showing how it does.
Her father would be proud 😂
Ha ha Thanks for watching!
👍
nice
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked!
I'm gonna buy trmw hehe
How bad did it damage the wood face? Did the paint go on to wood well after, or were there frayed and ripped up wood pieces all over the place that made it tough to coat correctly? I have a wooden cabin with similar paint failing.
Thanks for watching. It wasn't too bad. I went over it with some 220 on a random orbit sander before I painted just to knock the whiskers off. It was way better than I thought it would be. The most tedious part was the scraping on the finer areas. That triangle scraper really made it a lot easier. The stain that I used seems to be holding up good after 2 years. I still haven't changed the color to my neighbor's recommendations but I will be doing that soon. Just picked up the stain.
@@themostlymikeshow2582 thanks for the response.
What kind of grinder did you use? Thanks!! Looks like fun. Can’t wait to do my home.
Hi Teresa. I used a Metabo brand 6" grinder...it was a little overkill for this project, but I do a lot of welding and fabrication work, so that grinder is a staple tool for that hobby. I believe that any 4 1/2" angle grinder would be great for the Diamabrush. I do list a Metabo grinder in my Amazon store for $39.00, for an example.

Thanh’s for responding. I appreciate that, thank you for the recommendation.
Wow, how long did each wall take. Trying to get an idea how efficient…
Also, did it scratch up the wood
Thanks for watching Rik. It took roughly an hour to do everything in that time lapse, as far as getting the bulk of the paint off. I used a triangular scraper to get in the grooves with the Diamabrush would not work. The scratches weren't too bad considering as aggressive this tool seems, but it is soft Cedar so there were a few circular marks that I took off with a random orbit sander. The sander worked almost as quick as I could go over it. The Triangular scraper worked really efficiently too. I have a long form video of this demonstration if you look in my list of videos. It explains a little more in depth of how this tool works. I hope that this helps.
@@themostlymikeshow2582 forgot to thank you for the reply, so thanks for the details. I’m still looking forward to trying this one out.👍
@@rikityrik thanks again for watching! I do my best to reply to every commenter as long as I am able to keep up. I am hoping for the day that I will not be able to keep up. Have you seen the long version of this video where I went into greater detail ?
Mike,
Would this thing work on other than flat wooden surfaces, or surfaces that are smaller than the diameter of the thing itself? I'm desperately searching for some contraption to take endless layers of old ugly paint from my staircase. I can use every advice I can get!
Thanks for watching and commenting Ross. I doubt that it would work for that. I think it will go smaller than the diameter, but it might tear up some smaller intricate details. I really don't do much painting or paint prep work. I keep thinking maybe you might want to look at a chemical type remover, but Zip Strip is the only brand name that I can think of.
@@themostlymikeshow2582 I guess you're right... The scraping and sanding is of no use, the paint is too tough. And for melting it with hot air, I'm a little afraid of the fumes, my house is a100 years old, so I don't know when these layers of paint were done. They used some scary ingredients in the paint back then!
@ross6753 I agree. I Would say that it undoubtedly contains lead. I think they used lead in paint all the way up through the seventies.
Do they have a brush for paint on a cinderblick home!!
Thanks for watching. I'm sure that they probably do, but rolling or spraying is probably much easier. I do know from experience that painting my cinder block garage, it took three gallons for the first coat, and just one gallon for the second after it was sealed. Actually it was similar for this cedar. It soaks up the stain like a sponge.
Hello, I just ran across your site. I'm a DIY'er (like DIY'er, then I call a professional to fix my hot mess) anyway, can this tool strip paint off cement? I have a 4'x6' area I need strip old chip paint off and repaint with outdoor paint.. then tackle my garage floor with the same situation (fixing previous owners mess). I originally viewed your Gabion video I thought I could tackle myself for a garden wall, no can do, I'm still in the green stage of DIY :(
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I haven't tried the Diamabrush on concrete, but I doubt that it would work on that. I think that I put a link to their website in my description, which they might be able to steer you in the right direction to remove paint from concrete. Sorry that I could not be of more help. Yes, that gabion wall was a pretty big undertaking. I hope to follow up on that video to show the finished product soon.
Cement plastered walls ?
Thanks for watching. No they are just paneled inside and under the cedar siding is a layer of homasote sheathing, which was really popular in the 70s, and some fiberglass insulation in between.
That was really thin paint you were using it on I have thick paint 🤔
I think that a fresh new wheel would probably do pretty well on thick stuff.
@@themostlymikeshow2582 I couldn't find it at Home Depot where I live 😒
Whats the code
Thanks for watching Daniel. Do you mean the link for Amazon? If so, it's :

Works great but looks absolutely terrifying
Thanks for watching and commenting Josh. I thought the same thing before I used it, but it runs surprisingly smooth. Although it hasn't happened to me, the thing that scared me is if one of those little blades would happen to come loose what kind of damage would it do if it hit you. They seem to be pretty well molded into the plastic body, but I still see it as a concern.
😂
Thanks for watching Susie!
It helps that the paints only a couple of coats and 30 years old 😂
Thanks for watching! I agree, but this paint, definitely didn't want to come off even remotely this easy with other methods that I tried. The Diamabrush truly amazed me. I bought this with my own money, suggested by my local Sherwin Williams Store, and had no regrets.
Your paint is very flaky, do you think it will work well on thicker coat? I examined our peeling siding today and started wondering if it's possible to remove paint completely and leave it kn natural wood. This blade looks promising.
It seems to do pretty well on thicker stuff, although I guess that it would be relative to the type of paint and thickness or amount of coats. In the Sherwin Williams Store that I bought it from, there was a demonstration piece of decking that showed what looked to be a pretty durable deck floor finish that it removed completely. As I showed in the Diamabrush video (not sure if you watched that one, where I covered just the Diamabrush) there's parts in the corners of the overlaps of the siding that needs to be hand scraped. I showed the scraper and added links in the description for all of the tools used. Thanks again for watching. I hope that this helps.
@@themostlymikeshow2582 , I did watch this one as well. I ordered one on Amazon and will try it. Thank you!
And thank you for watching! I hope that it works well for you!
I'm doing this with the 5 in 1 scraper 😢😢😢
Thanks for watching. Geez! That would take forever! I was really happy with the Diamabrush performance, but another commenter had asked how it works on a thick coat of paint, and I wasn't really sure. I really don't do much painting but if the situation arises I will definitely put it to a test and film it. I just learned recently that they make a version for concrete too, which I posted the link in the description.
