Thanks for Behr paint for supplying their amazing products to get this house looking amazing! I used Behr Marquee for everything, but I couldn't find that line available online for my colors, so I linked what I could...

I was a mechanic for about 50 years. As a young mechanic I got married. As a married mechanic I wore a ring. As a mechanic my hands were often near some powerful moving parts. One day one of those parts tried to remove my ring. Today I have no rings but I do have a finger.
I think painting the chimney will bring everything together, that is a great idea!!!!
I could watch her paint all day long 😍❤
I'm glad you mentioned PPE. Pressure washing, sanding and spray painting all of which puts particulates into the air you are breathing. Molds, animal fecal matter, a wide variety of chemicals and carcinogens finding their way into your lungs. Please take care of yourself. Great video and amazing work, the house will have great curb appeal after you are done. 🙂🙏
Yes to painting the chimney! Looks fabulous!!
4:46 Pressure washing is so satisfying.
Yes, to painting the chimney 👍 Great job!
You’re simply amazing!!! Beautiful and talented ❤
Pressure-washing is addictive. Once you start you can't stop. I lived decades as a homeowner, wondering what the big deal was. Then I bought my first pressure washer and it was indeed "life changing" as you said! You know you have a problem when, at bedtime, you start watching the numerous pressure-washing videos available on CZcams.
Haha yes!! 🙌
Such good work. Gritty and determined to get the results you wanted. Tons of work but what a great outcome. Congratulations 😊👏👏👏
You are doing it Melissa as usual !! That color is on point 👍🏾 and as far as painting the chimney I think that’s a great idea especially the color that you mention and or a charcoal gray
Beautiful transformation Melissa! I can understand why the neighbours are gushing 👏🏻🥰. By the way, so much great information for diy-ers.
I think yes on spraying the chimney the same as your trim. It stands out left brown. Love the color combination though and good job prepping and spraying .
Those Graco airless sprayers are *AMAZING* !!!
One bit of valuable information with those sprayers, do yourself a huge favor and get an extension wand for it. Not saying to get a crazy long one. Just an 18" or 2 foot wand. The wands make the painting feel so intuitive. Trust me, anyone that has a sprayer, or is considering purchasing one . . . GET A WAND.
Incredible , it looks fantastic. My opinion is to paint the chimney. Your channel is great.
Great Video! Yes! Peppery for the chimney. That would look great.
I'd opt for painting chimney the trim color.
Great job Melissa!!! You and the house look great. Def paint the chimney the same as the trim.
I like the contrast of the unpainted chimney with the new color of the rest of the house, but I'm pretty much always anti-painting brick.
Same here!
Much much better than before. Color is a good choice, looking more modern already. I'm sure , u will put some good touches to it , because you are never done creating. Me and my wife are same, every year we keep adding new projects and ideas . And it became our lifestyle lol 🙂👍 chimney is asking for light grey cement finish .🙄
I would definitely paint the chimney same as trim! Nice work, what a difference!
Awesome result, prep and attention to detail was 100% starting at 1:30 you're an absolute super model too, Elle Macpherson 🍻
Looks amazing, Great job.
You do very good work, very detailed! Great color! House looks really good! Thanks for sharing!
You’ve got some serious skills!!
I love your vids!! Great work. Everything looks so nice!!
watched this morning and pondered the "paint the chimney" question. I think if it were my house I would prefer a new brick-like facing on the current chimney. Better than paint and the facing chosen can match the new look of the house.
Awesome work! Yes, I think you should paint the chimney.
Paint the chimney for sure. Awesome job by the way
Congratulations I used grinder on mine back to bare shingle, love see lady doing joy right two 👍👍
Nice job. Very nice color selection. The neighbors should be jealous.
i really love this channel. You don't know what you can do, until you try, these video's are an inspiration for me to do more myself at my place and try things out. I totally suck at this kind of work, but after watching some of your, and other video's i decided to give it a try. The work came out better as expected, but the most important thing is that you feel proud about doing it yourself.
The yellow doesn't fit this kind of vintage house, so very smart to change that. Maybe i'm odd, but i really loved the original color of the cedar, when you stripped the yellow paint off. For my taste, it suited the age of the house much better. I wouldn't have choosen your actual color, but it looks much better than the yellow. Keep up the good work, and your great video's. 😊
BTW, i LOVE what you did yo your kitchen... So fantastic. 10 points...
Thank you for this. I have watched a bunch of " Pro paint stuff." Your video told me exactly what I need to know to paint my cedar shingle one-story ranch home. I'm definitely investing in the paint sprayer you suggested. I will also power wash and scrape my shingles. Thank you for this informative video. Dave.
Great job! And perfect timing…paint my house this weekend 😊 I would not paint the chimney…I like the contrast. Either way it will be fabulous!
Great job Melissa and I would leave the chimney as it is. 👏😎🐕🦺
Great job! Your work ethic never ceases to amaze me. lol I’d say paint the chimney it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb. Can’t wait to see what else you get in to.
Looks great
That looks amazing! That spray gun sprayed great. I build farmhouse furniture and I need a good spray gun like that!
It's beautiful! I love the color choice. I would make a stain wash for the chimney out of the trim or siding paint. It would give you the hue but be more translucent leaving more or the texture of the brick. I'm curious for the next phase, shutters or no shutters?
Great job👍
Superb job Mel!!
Thanks for sharing!
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your renovations/changes on the exterior!
I am a big natural, rustic renovator, ie lover of natural old brick or wood, which we have so much of here in Spain.
But for the colour for your chimney, based on what you have chosen for the exterior, my gut feel, would be a dark burgundy/blood red colour tone.
Apologies in advance if you dislike that choice!
I am sure whatever you choose, it will look great!
Thanks again for sharing and please keep the videos coming!!
So funny you suggested that color because that's what the front door will be!! We must have similar taste ☺️
Love it!
Hadn't thought of that.
I am not talented enough to know if they will all work in combo but you are , so I am looking forward to seeing what you do!
Thanks again for sharing!
@@WelcometotheWoodsBlog giving the chimney a contrast colour would look really good.
Looks great! Paint the chimney
Definitely paint the chimney!
Looks great! I'm sure the neighborhood was watching. 😉
Another Comment from Germany Melissa!! A good Job done and good explained in Steps! You are Like an Army of the small Dozers (From Fraggles). Congratulations ! A big hug from Germany, Rudi 👍
Great job and advice. Looks awesome!
bravo Melissa good job, i can see what's coming up next.❤❤
Looks like a brand new house, great job.As far as the chimney goes ,if that not a fireplace or woodstove and only a vent you could actually box it in w cedar siding and trim to match the house.
Nice Job. I vote to Seal and Paint the chimney.
My suggestion: Paint the chimney same color as accent (color around windows). Love the color!
Awesome ❤️
Amazing job!! And I think that painting the chimney the trim color is a great idea. It would look super cool & modern.
Great video Melissa! I would consider using some type of covering for the chimney! It would make it more contemporary! That is my two cents! Hope the kids are fine?
Nice. Thumbs up!
Awesome video!!!!you are very talented.
Great job Melissa. The colour looks great. Do not paint the chimney. It will peel, chip and crack over time making it look neglected. Might a suggest a brick finishing material like mortar or something that you could also colour. Place looks good.
Wow, what a difference!
I've used Hercules putty before, it gets very hard, but is no where near as sandable as bondo. I prefer Feather-rite by USC. Sands easier a feathers out smoother.
That Chimney needs color! It stands out like a sore thumb. Wonder if there isn't something that could be used to cover it. Like steel, but painted with the trim or main color.
Good job. Definitely paint the chimney
She is inspirational and provides lots of valuable information. All of the high-quality tools are not affordable to many people.
Wish my house was a ranch. You can access everything!
I would paint the chimney. I actually had to have my chimney removed, was a non functioning chimney. I had it removed because it would leak when it rained due to the mortar. Painting it will seal that mortar up real well and prevent any future problems.
Yes I'm painting the chimney looking good
Great job, I would do the chimney trim color also👍
Really cool to see you work and explain your choices :)
You need some accent colour to break the monotony you mentioned. I'd do that before deciding to paint the chimney it might play well with your next step.
I didn't want to be the PPE police, so I'm glad you called yourself out on it. Next time! ;)
And yes, paint the chimney the same color as the trim. 👍
Paint the chimney for sure
When you started spraying I was like "why did she go with brown", but after seeing the finished result, I love it. You're right, the painted chimney might look better
Yes, paint the chimney.
I have over 30 years in painting and I guarantee you, if you paint the chimney, it will peel.
They always do.
Front of the house looks great, and loved the color scheme.
Not if it’s prepared correctly
@@Lpc228 how do you do it than?
Because up here in the North East every chimney peels.
Great job! I really like your color choices. The chimney needs some help but I don't think I would paint it the trim color. Maybe a fieldstone veneer, or check other options.
Could also build a cedar encasement that slips over and can be painted trim color
Hello. I do not understand English. But I like to see the procedures even if I don't know what products you're talking about. Excellent work.
Thanks for sharing.
Cool pressure washer! I haven't seen anything like that before. Minor quibble: Bondo isn't generally considered to be an epoxy, despite it being in two parts.
😅 when I was recording voiceover, I looked it up and the first hit on Google told me it was an epoxy. Since your comment I looked into it more and see that it's a polyester resin and I should've read more sources lol
Paint the chimney trim color! If you want it to stand out. If not, do siding color. It will blend into the roof better.
Nice Work . !
1. Am I the only one who draw pictures with the pressure washer?
2. The paint guard you made was genius
3. I say paint the chimney
Great job
Nice work, try the sprayer extension pole for the gun next time- you’ll love it. I’d do a different stone surface on that chimney.
👏Good Job...!!🙂
Yes your chimney should be painted the same as your trim also your vent pipes paint them the same as your trim . Your new colors look great .
I strongly recommend checking the flashing on that chimney,
If you’re worried about the plastic you can also mask off with heavy paper that you find in rolls in the paint section. I’m not a fan of painted brick but I can see how painting the chimney would blend it with the rest of the house.
Yes paint Chimney 🎉
Paint the chimney.
I ve painted forever and I also do stone work. You could culture stone that chimney and that would make thee whole project pop. Your roof has a easy pitch and the stone can go right over the brick. So you may have 20 sqft of stone to apply maybe a little more, that could be done in a day. Stone applied, bagged with mortar, tuckpointed struck and brushed out and your done. Done in a day by a guy that knows how to do the job. Mixing the mud is key for each process. Im doing a 30 sqft job tomorrow with a helper it should take 6 hrs. Good luck.
I vote yes to paint the chimney 😊
Yes to painting the chiminy
I enjoy your channel Melissa. I admire your ambition and to be honest you're quite easy to look at! As for the chimney, definitely paint it with an elastomeric masonry paint.
Legal ótimo vídeo 👍👍👍
I can’t devote the time needed to do things like this. So much prep.
Build chimney out of siding to set over the brick one. Paint it matching color. Btw….best looking woman on CZcams far and away. Great video!
Amazing transformation love the colour looks awesome good job
Wow what a difference! In my opinion the only things that should be yellow are bananas and lemons:).
Ok. Show of hands… Who would not mind being her next door neighbor?
🖐
Great work, would recommend getting a mask when painting
Your new painting skills can transfer to the auto painting.
It takes a steady hand and a mind for detail.
I would paint the chimney or maybe stain the brick if possible to match the house more. By the way nice job it looks so pretty. I love before and Afters.
You are awesome. You know that chimney needs painting, GO FOR IT...
Did you finish it off with spar urethane for UV protection?
You've done a nice job of prepping, and painting here Melissa. I personal wouldn't paint the chimney, especially if you use the fireplace.
