    I'm looking at the same 6x12, vnose, slant top for a build. Can you tell me your average mpg loss at highway speed while towing? It's been my experience the aerodynamics have as much to do with it as (or more) when towing on a flat highway.

    • @migration-man7077
      @migration-man7077  Před rokem

      Well I tow with a 2020 Tacoma lifted on 33’s and my mpg is cut in half roughly. 19-20 unloaded 9-10 loaded towing. If the trailer is taller than your tow rig and your towing with anything less than a full-size with v8 it’s probably going to be horrible either way. So depending how much extra they want for the slant nose? It might not really be worth it

    When you went with the 33's did you change your gear ratio in your differentials to compensate for the additional tire size diameter? I have a Tahoe that I put 285's on (just shy of 33") and with my 3.73 stock gears it searches for the correct transmission gear. I will be putting 4.11 gears in it to bring it back closer to the stock configuration which will trick the computer into thinking it is stock again. I pull a 3500lb boat on occasion and a 7x16 v-nose enclosed. I m going to "borrow" some of your ideas for the 7x16.

Just make sure the windows overlap the vertical studs and aren’t floating in the middle of the studs and your good. My cabinets are about 8” above the window and provide support also. If your windows are to small to fit over the studs you can pull the plywood off and frame it in with wood and reinstall the plywood. Hopefully that helps

      The kit I bought came with 4 so I have one on each side. Being out in the middle of nowhere most of the time it comes in handy when you hear something outside and dont want to face the cougar

    Sir, you never mentioned the trailer dimensions. Would you kindly advise. Length with & without V- nose, height, width, and cost bare if that's ok? Happy Trails, be safe. I did find in the comments it's an EZ Hauler brand.🇺🇲🍀👍

    • @migration-man7077
      @migration-man7077  Před 2 lety +3

      It’s an Easyhauler, 6’wide x 6’ tall x 10’ long box with about a 20” V nose. All aluminum and about 960 pounds stock if I remember right. I paid $6000 with 2 layers of Treated plywood and 3 rows of Versatie Track added. I think if you order one its significantly cheaper? but the market was bare when I built 6 months ago so I was thankful to find one I wanted. Happy Trails!

      235 70 16 BFG Ko2, that trailer has a torsion axle and I never had rubbing issues even on 4x4 roads. My new trailer with leaf spring axle has rubbed somewhere during lg pothole to fast so I’m going to replace the shackle with a longer one and give it another 1” of room.

    • @migration-man7077
      @migration-man7077  Před 2 lety +1

      If I’m climbing a lot I put it in manual shift and it doesn’t stay in the same gear forever screaming up hills. It just needs different gears so its not at 4000 rpm when it downshifts… Wet pavement and quick shift to 4000 rpm = wheel spin that’s not fun on wet pavement at 60 mph.

    Greetings, I just bought a trailer the body, roof is all aluminium. I have not done anything with it yet, seen that every morning the roof has condensation on it.
    Is there anyway of stopping the condensation? With insulation perhaps?
    Many thanks

    • @migration-man7077
      @migration-man7077  Před rokem

      Even if you insulate its still going to acquire condensation if your in it. If it has a roof vent and windows leave them cracked open especially the roof vent. When a person or animal breathes it emits condensation so the more you are in it the more condensation. I have always run a dehumidifier because I don't like that damp feeling everything gets. On my boat I currently live on I pull out about a half a gallon a day and the schoolie I used to live on (Matilda The School Bus) with my ex I pulled out even more because there were two people. If you don't have power then there are other options like damprid bags and bowls that work well but I prefer a dehumidifier. Have fun with the conversion and safe travels!

      @@migration-man7077ok, I want be living in it, just using as a storage unit. I wont be in it or animal's. The trailer is empty but there is still condensation happening, even with airflow going through.
      Is there any way to stop the condensation, with insulation?
