Cargo trailer converted into off grid camper
2022 Forest River 6x10 Vee nose trailer
Finished weight approx. 2000 lbs. GVW 3500 lbs.
Interior finished height - 6' 4”
15-inch radial tires with frame mounted spare and cover
Solar powered motion sensor exterior lights
Roof top 14 in.- 4 speed Max Fan with remote
2- 30x20 inch sliding windows with screens
Rear barn doors and side door added RV lock
15 amp shore power/ battery charger
2- 160 watt solar panels to 40 amp MPPT solar charger
3- 100 amp/hour sealed AGM batteries
2000 watt pure sine wave power inverter (12 volt to 120 volts)
All marine wiring with multiple circuit breakers and fuse panels

This is an awesome floor plan. I love how he fit all the features (the shower/toilet especially) into this 6x10!!!
Vince made one of the nicest 6x10 trailer builds I have seen so far (and I have looked at many). This is very impressive. And, as his tour shows, each desirable feature is there, one after another, "...but wait...there's more" came to mind, as he points out each one. I really am impressed. But I also like the aesthetic choices he made in the interior wood "cabin" look too. Very appealing build. Bravo!
He has the perfect mix of skills acquired throughout life that's needed to make these babies so nice.

This is a good design and build for a trailer of this size and it looks like he does good professional quality work. The only thing it seems to be missing is some countertop space in the kitchen for food prep. I probably would choose to replace the burners with a countertop and then have a portable burner that can be stored in a cabinet and just pulled out when it is needed.

Absolutely perfect cargo conversion! I would love to buy one. There’s only one problem it would have to be white. Best design I have seen in a cargo trailer everything you need nothing you don’t!

To paraphrase Vince, "I build it like I was going to keep it myself...forever.' That's the kind of guy you want to build your camper.
The only thing I would want to see is some prep space in the galley. Maybe a fold out extension next to the sink?
Great job, the woodwork is exquisite and the way all the electronics, heating, plumbing are easily accessible for repair is very smart-thinking.

There is an extraordinary amount of quality and detail here. This build is the best one I have ever seen. I’m was a carpenter for 4 years and a van builder with a company… this man should sell his instructional on this build. TAKE NOTE AND SAVE THIS VIDEO SOMEWHERE

Amazing to see Vince's another well built and efficient use of space conversion. Like others, would love to see the whole build process.
For the electrical - I would probably start off with a generator to charge my batteries. That way I can still go off grid, but not have to have an electrical engineering degree to do it. They are really doing good things to improve generators these days. They are quieter, smaller, and much more efficient.

U should put little jumping shelves for Ur kitty. U have an entire wall there with just decorations that U could put a long shelf with padding for kitty. Great lil video

These trailers are a great platform to convert. Much easier than a van and cheaper. If you keep it lite or chose an aluminum framed trailer you don’t need a big truck to pull it.

Wow! It's so complete! I love that the stove top is also an access panel, and that calk was used instead of grout! Spar varnish is the perfect answer for keeping the wood safe from moisture! It's so well done!

Vince, this is great! Ain’t retirement wonderful!?! Right now, I’m outfitting my own camper, but nothing compared to this. All that solar and electrical work is fascinating. If you make it down to St. Augustine, FL, we can compare notes and no doubt, you can teach me about all this solar stuff. Everything I’m doing is entirely portable, rather than built in. Beautiful work, Vince. Just stunning.

Wow! That is the 2nd video of this guy's work. Amazing. I live full time in a 12x6 V nose trailer that I built starting in April 2019. I am still building it and modifying. One of the things I have been struggling with is stabilizing. This man had a very good idea. A bar with inserts. I can do that with screws because I can't weld. Maybe I should learn. I am learning woodworking but nowhere near this mans level. Getting better though. I also think I will renew my hot water. I have a cube like contraption almost identical to the Hike Crew one. Poor pressure and awkward shape. I like Vince's (?) one much better. Thank you great video and I shall subscribe to your channel.
How much does it cost you per month to live ?
@@jj-eo7bj A difficult question to answer. A lot of it is governed by whether I am traveling that month. Food - which includes beer - about $250 a month. Gas - which includes generator and truck - $222 / month. Other utilities about $200. I have (starting in 24) $1281 a month. I can usually save with that. A back up fund is essential.
