I've got to say, I was a bit skeptical about how good this tutorial was gonna be, but regardless of the steps, that is a very smart looking beret in the end.
Awesome tutorial and awesome job on the full-thickness skin graft too. Old proverbs say, "Scars make the man." And, "Scars remind us that we survived". Wear both beret and graft proudly! Thank you for your service!
I like the look of this style of shaping. Over the right ear, and not like a skull cap that's too small. And did he really get it perfect in 58 seconds. 👍
Receive beret from Pusser. Look up at the ceiling and say "Thank you, Pusser". Take lining out of beret with razer blade for nonchalant effect. Proceed to shave interior and exterior of beret. Brush off fluff. Hoover floor. Submerge beret in hot water. Submerge in cold water. Submerge in hot water. Submerge in cold water. Ring out water. With badge in, pull material to the front over the badge and eyes so you look all mysterious, then pull material to the right. Titivate. Using splayed fingers of right hand, grip the loose material on the left topside of head and bunch between fingers for gucci shark gills effect. Titivate. Wear until dry.
Some vids here in Brazil tell it's easier to mould the beret with warm water wearing it in the shower you simply come out (before the mirror) and back in (to moist and get heat) till it gets your head shape ...
Tank Boi all I can say to you is fair play for doing your A-Levels beforehand, just in case you don’t like it, you’ve got them to fall back on which is good. You’re a lot smarter than many people who joined up (including myself)
Interesting I think it was 1976 when we were first issued berets in the RN , there certainly wasn’t any advice on shaping , that was RM prerogative. Long time ago now .

Yes, the principal of shaping headdress is the same regardless of Regiment/Corps. Though you must ensure the cap badge is above your left eye, the rim of the beret is 2.5cm above your eyebrows and all excess material is pulled down the right* side of your head.
Gabriel Swan An excerpt I found online: “Official guidance from the Royal Navy on the beret explains the headpiece "shall be worn evenly on the head, with the sweatband 2.5 cm above the eyebrows, the badge centred over the left eye, and the crown pulled downward to the right.”
That looks terrible! Place the beret into near boiling water for about 30 seconds. Then place into cold water (colder the better) for at least 30 seconds. Wring out the excess water, place on head and shape. That's how the Army do it and the berets look far better 👌😉
I mean, if only berets were this easy to mould
It's easier with PWRR Infantry beret's because you fold over the corner of the flag in the cap badge as a point of reference
@@jacobrees4848 PWRR respect!!

MotoX accident actually bud! And thank you for the comment :) appreciate it!
Wearing it in the shower works well too, that's what I've always done
@A Person not all berets have leather trims.
@@UserPendingDeletion How do you shape it then?
@@UserPendingDeletion Ah, I see. The leather rim is the problem.
@@UserPendingDeletion No worries, thanks for sharing
Yea my JROTC drill commander gave us some to wear to the parade and he said to wear it in the shower
I believe there's an error on the commentary. The access of material should be pulled over to the right side, not left.
Yes the official HMS Raleigh training video is wrong.......
@@hmw8548 It is wrong
@@hmw8548 It really is. Cap badge goes on the left and is pulled right
I wanna cry -- I clocked this after I'd been trying for 3 days urgh

First take and yeah about that haha
My dad did mine for me when I was 17. Almost broke my neck lol
really needed this.. received a brand new beret from Slama and had a super hard tome getting rid of wrinkles. thanks!!
Thanks for the video it helped a lot 😃
That scar on his arm, ouch, is he ok??
Yeah I'm all good, was a motorbike crash a few years ago that caused it but luckily it didn't stop me from joining up :)

He’s fine👍🏻

Thanks a lot for this tutorial
bugger, I was wondering why the corporal kept asking me if I knew my right from my left.
I’m in Sea Cadets and to me it’s really hard to Mullberry but thanks to you I managed it I’m definitely joining the Royal Navy
Thankyou for you service and for this video
yo i needed this for a ccf inspection

great that this is on youtube, how can you play Battlefield without proper headgear?
Thank you
Tip: it's okay to keep the cap badge in. (my detachment CO told me)
The officer looks like Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
As long as it resembles a HLS on your carrier you'll be fine 😂😂😂
Just done a video on a more effective way to achieve a better effect, good vid tho 👍
How was this ever released with such a fundamental and basic error in it! The spare material goes to the RIGHT.
Quite unbelievable.
Worst part of joining the armed forces
Really??? Maybe your joined the wrong regiment. You should be proud of your beret.

in the army I swear they mod it the other way over to the right
