- As some of you know, one of the ways that I discovered I was on the spectrum was from memes on Reddit. It's silly, I know, but relating to autistic experiences through memes helped me to feel validated and less alone. In this video I thought it would be fun to bring that experience full circle and react to a few of my favorite autism memes now that I've officially been diagnosed with autism. I hope that this video brings you the same validation and laughs that these memes brought me!

I feel like I'm so shit at articulating my thoughts lol. Like I repeat myself 50 times and trail off and forgot what I'm saying mid-sentence. If I'm passionate about what I'm trying to say, I'll stammer and struggle to "spit it out."

Also Autistic + ADHD 😁. Just had the thought that the reason why my brain 🧠 becomes very active when I try to sleep 🛌 might be because my mask is completely off and my mind experiences a lot of stimulation from being completely free. It’s a good thing, but the timing is unfortunate. Although I’ve improved at not putting on a mask, it’s still something I’m trying to work on, as I often put it on without realizing. I think many of you may be able to relate to this.

omg I'm 30 and for me 25 year old people are older than me. I can't believe when someone sees me as an adult but at the same time I feel insulted when they don't, and I look younger so they often don't 😂
6:56 I cannot stop referring to our next-door neighbor as "Dave" even though his name is Brad. I do it EVERY time and I don't even know why. I do also have synesthisia... So maybe he just looks like a Dave and his parents gave him the wrong name 🤔
I don't think I meet the threshold for diagnosis. I am very good at feelings and don't have any issues with sensory overload, but I am slightly quirky... And numbers have colors 😅. I thought I was the only one.

#6 and #10 resonated the most with me. When I was a child I used to study people for clues on how to interact with them. I would intently study their faces to memorize expressions. I would listen to laughs and try to imitate them in the mirror. I even had a friend (lovingly he said) compare me to an Alien, although I believe that was due to my intolerance for cold temperatures (for me that is anything below 75 degrees Fahrenheit, I live in coastal U.S. state in the northeast so yeah....) For #10, that one is easy it is my mantra to my friends: TEXT ME do NOT call me. I have about a 50% success rate with that mantra.
I'm SO intolerant to cold temperatures! I currently live in PNW... the winters are mild compared to many other places but I just can't. I moved from the Bay Area and that was even too cold for me. 80 degrees is my sweet spot!
for me it's remembering faces, I have to spend a lot of time looking at someone to recognize them in the street later 😭 I hate it. People must think I'm rude. Maybe I met my neighbour (an older lady) and didn't say anything to her, because I've only seen her for a few minutes total. It sucks.

I relate totally to being so so tired but the minute I lie down to sleep my brain pops wide awake! I thought it was due to PTSD. But I do have Autism and ADHD also.

@@Aqwy73 No. I am diagnosed with everything above except autism. At the time I wrote this I thought I was diagnosed with Autism also. The psychiatrist said I had traits of Autism and I misunderstood and thought she said autism.
Hay, to the #8, I tend to sort Persons to names. So there is a class of Katharina, Marcel and so on. It is not really kind but I can remember the names ... people ... whatever.

I feel like while im watching this video i have to pause it with every meme and write my thoughts because adhd brainXD.
1: i always feel younger then i am and when people see me they always think im younger then my age. The last moment was about a year ago someone thought i was 17 and i was 27 at that momentXD
2: i totaly agree that you have to be in the right creative mood. Atm i can't make any jewelry but im realy inspired to make plushy's. Also a reason why i don't take job's. I just freeze in the middle of them:/.
3: i couldn't relate at first, then i remeberd i have had socks that do this and don't wear them anymore. Then i rememberd i mostly wear the same kind of sock i have been buying for years... The only thing i chance is that i make pairs of 1 white and 1 black sock. Don't let me get started about the maskingXD.
