    As much as I am happy Nigeria won, it seems the team has maintained that same trajectory of not scoring too many goals. It started from the World Cup and it has continued through out the Olympics qualifiers. It’s the lack of scoring ability that kicked us out of the World Cup. We can’t keep on relying on the goal keeper. Sooner or later luck is going to run out, like it did in the round of 16.
    I don’t know if it’s a tactical approach, but the team needs to be more adventurous and aggressive upfront. There is no way we have all these creative midfielders and decent strikers, and we only manage to score a goal here and there.
    I bet some mumu Nigerians will say “I don’t know what I am talking about”. When I made the same assessment before the World Cup, that Nigeria needs to aggressive upfront or will be eliminated early, they said I don’t know football. We were eliminated in the round of 16, if it wasn’t for the penalty save in the opening match, NIgeria wouldn’t have qualified from the group. Once again, I hope the coach doesn’t take this tactical approach to Paris, or else Nigeria would not go far.

      The Super falcons doesn't hold the ball much,but just depends on good defense. Actually good defense wins you tournament especially when you don't have players that can hold ball and distribute it.

      @user-bk6gx7sg3j Před měsícem

      That is not the problem. South Africa (and all the people in East and Southern Africa) are smaller than these West Africans. To counter this size advantage, they need to use speed. This is how Zambia has defeated Cameroon, Togo, Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana in row. Basically we have used our speed to run through West Africa.

  • @user-bk6gx7sg3j
    @user-bk6gx7sg3j Před 2 měsíci +1

    My advice to South Africa going forward is to concentrate on speed. We in East and Southern Africa are physically smaller, and when we play these bigger and slower teams at their speed, we cede the advantage to them, because they use their size to score over our heads or push us off the ball. The way to destabilise them is with speed.

Remember that in this game, our 3 fastest players were no there, and Motsepe corruptly Barbara Banda from the tournament, Rchael Kundananjhi was being allowed to get a head adjustment by the coach, Rachael Nachula was not on the team, and Grace Chanda had to sort them out by herself, for the most part. You can even watch Zambi-South Africa. Without Motsepe putting his finger on the scale, Zambia slaughters our sisters from South Africa, due to a difference in speed. Zambia is the fastest team in the world. Our problem is the defense, where we are too small, and our coach does not do as well. Our best goal keeper is out recovering from an injury..
