Fantastic demo, super informative! I've been lucky to have played through the Brass Knuckle (as well as their 228 Pre, also terrific). I played in a couple of covers bands into a DRRI with humbuckers and single coils and this pedal provided amazing versatility. Superb range of tone and gain as Shawn brilliantly demonstrates. Looks fab as well!
Great review Shawn! Turns out it's more intuitive than it looks at first glance. So many great options for fine tuning your sound! I want one for sure!
Great Sounding Pedal, I’ve played one of these through my Mesa Mark V. Loved the sounds I could get out of this pedal. This CZcams video is an awesome demo and review🎸
Man that’s got that “just right”, tight and tough thing going on… excellent midrange frequency range!!! Great demo, Shawn as always! And as usual, you may have sold me on another stomp.
Good spotting there! After a great deal of torture testing, we decided the negligible difference in temp wasn’t worth having holes to let in the myriad fluids that can find their way to pedal boards at gigs. The case does a great job of sinking the heat away naturally and never gets more than mildly warm to the touch. A number of customers have gigged theirs regularly and have had no issues. I have accidentally left this thing on for days and it played like it just came out of the box - not that I recommend doing that 😂😂. Thanks for checking the demo out.
Almost thought it said "moose knuckle" at first and I thought well that is very immature and laughed a bit(says a lot about my sense of humor I know) until I realized I was wrong! Anyway, the "Brass Knuckle" which is a reference to a fighting implement that you put on your knuckles to really hurt someone(NOT inappropriate at all), is a good sounding pedal! But Shawn makes all pedals sound great!
290 Volts ... can be a killer(ing) sound ;) I am not an expert, but it is hard to find a real tube overdrive pedal, that does not sound like a fuzz on full gain (and this pedal just doesn't sound like a fuzz at all). The sound remainds me a little bit the HiWatt sounds of David Gilmour... Thanks Shawn! Regards!
Shawn never thought of this but can the Tubes be hard towards my Rollan Jaz/Chorus Combo 77 Amp as far as stress to any of the circuits & all?? TY Brother, your Music-In-Law 🤘🎸🤠
No it will run just fine into the front of any amp. The only thing to be conscious of is how much signal or output you're sending. If you're hitting the front end of your amp with too much signal you'll hear it.
Would have been an interesting pedal for me, but as the company obviously does not have a single retailer in Europe, importing it from Australia directly makes it much too expensive for me. (Shipping costs, customs duties, import sales tax, which means, an about 30 - 40% higher final price than the listed one.) Listed price is EUR 310,-, which would be ok, but the final price for me then would be EUR 450,- minimum or higher, and for the same money I already get a complete DSL20HR or a Tubemeister Deluxe 20 amp. Next thing, if the pedal causes troubles, servicing between Europe and Australia hardly will work and if, then it is connected with a lot of - once again - additional costs. A good product is one thing, but if the distribution network does not work (worldwide) equally professional, it hardly will become a success. If Sweetwater, Thomann or any other (bigger) seller offered it in Europe, no problem, then I had a qualified and responsible contact around, if any troubles occur, but as it is, the price and the risk is too high for me, although the sounds are good. But maybe I get an already used one somewhere here for less... ...somewhen....
That’s sort of true, but not really. 12ax7 tubes can run at 12v using a cold plate design, but that’s not what the Brass Knuckle uses to power the tube plates. It uses a pretty common charge pump/boost converter circuit (go down that rabbit hole 🤪) to achieve a 290VDC supply, giving about 170ish VDC at the tube plates - just like an amp. The tube heaters do run on 12V, so you’re on the money there. We do our best not to make any false claims because there’s enough people doing that on the internet already… Hope that clears up any confusion. Thanks for checking the demo out.
Killer playing and insanely comprehensive overview. I have more drive options than I could ever need, and still you make me want another 😂
Wow Bryan, thanks so much man! Hope you're doing well.

What a demo song. You always come with a clever rocking riff. Killer sounding pedal. Like we need more drive pedals…but damn.
Hot riff on the intro piece, and great soloing throughout! Pedal sounds really good with all your guitars, single coils and humbuggies.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you chiming in!
That signature Tyler is nuts , congratulations Shawn !! Well deserved
Great review Shawn! Turns out it's more intuitive than it looks at first glance. So many great options for fine tuning your sound! I want one for sure!
Really useful pedal! GAS is real! Great playing and demo yet again Shawn!
Great sounding pedal Shawn. But your writing and killer playing is what I am really checking out here. Damn you are such an inspiration! Cheers Shawn.
Awe, thanks so much Sam!
Another wonderful demo of another great sounding pedal! Love it, love it! Makes my day!
Thanks so much for watching!!
Great Sounding Pedal,

That's it for sure! It's got this aggressive but musical growl. It's a stand-out pedal IMHO.
I have one of these pedals and its AMAZING. I'm a bit of a tone head and this replaces both my O.D and Distortion.
Sounds so good Sean!
Thanks so much!
You and Pete Thorn need to collaborate on a demo. The intro music would most definitely be epic.
Pete would bury me alive.
That Tyler headstock is just so subtle LOL. Great sounds sir as always
TYLER TYLER TYLER TYLER TYLER TYLER!! Haha, yeah for sure! Thanks so much for watching and for chiming in!
Sounds great and responsive. 😎👍👍
Very nice 👍
I just love it when you do that dirty rock and roll groove Mr Tubbs. Top demo as usual ...G...
Thanks so much!

Great jam as usual Shawn! We need the Demolition Volume 2 and 3 ASAP
Thanks so much!! I'm working on it!
Seems like balls to the wall even at lowest gain settings, not a subtle pedal!Great playing as always
Wow !! Pricey but such a killer pedal.
The price is in Australian dollars, so it’s basically free if your paying in USD 😂😂
@@electronbrothers2155 Then I'm buying !
How does it Cope with HEAT from the Valves ? Can't see any Vents !?

Nice intro riff

Sounds a little dark to me, but to each his own. Thanks for demoing this pedal
Thanks for watching!
Q: how many OD pedals do i REALLY need?
A: just one more apparently THIS ONE
Haha, it does indeed sound good! Thanks for watching!

Give a watch of demos for Kingsley tube pedals.

Sounds great. What amp and speaker? Thanks.
Friedman DS 40>UA OX 4x12 Royer/57 mics.
❤️👍😁
Sounds girthy and full. It sounds like tubes running hot.
the silver gt has a kind of Hagstrom look
I believe it is a modern Zemaitis. The originals are very expensive- like vintage LP expensive.

It is not true high voltage. Go down the rabbit hole. Wall wart . 12ax7tubes run on 12 volts. Check that fact out. Beware of these claims.
