  • www.lightningboyaudio.com The Lightning Boy II , high voltage vacuum tube drive, tethered to its new CH-2 Side Car Module, makes for a little slice of juicy, amp pushing wonderment. I love the LBII on its own, and now having the sidecar along with it, makes it like having a dual channel Edison and Tesla worthy box of joy.
I used my new www.zemaitisguitar.com metal front Zemaitis , into the www.drzamps.com Dr Z Antidote. Wired for sound with www.thedivinenoise.com Divine Noise straight white cable of choice, www.bulletcable.com Bulletcable white coily cable of love, and www.telefunkenelektroakoustik.com Telefunken mics, yep!

Is it a bad fuzz pedal?

all the room these 3 boxes take up I'd rather just get another small tube amp head to switch to

You're completely right. Not everyone has that much available space on their pedal board and not everyone needs multiple channels in a pedal. That's why this pedal is modular. You aren't required to use that power supply or the sidecar. Just the single Lightning Boy II pedal and a wall wart adapter is all you'd need for the simplest setup. EH sells a 12V AC wall adapter for $13. Together that puts you in under $230, a far bit less than a small tube amp head and board space of a single pedal.

awesome! well, that being said, what amp would you say this overdrive would approximate? fender? Marshall?

This probably isn't the answer you'd like, but IMO its very different sounding from any amp I've heard before. Its definitely doing its own thing. In the spectrum of Fender vs. Marshall I'd have to put it closer to the Marshall side.

The cord that runs from the vacuum tube to the sidecar module, is that a 1/4 cable?

I mean at the bottom of the pedals.

No, Sir. It is an 1/8" TRS cable.
