  • In this video I show a sample upper body pull workout for back, biceps, and traps using the Ironmaster 2000 / IM 2000.
    This is Part 1 in what will be a 3 Part Series. I will also have an upper body push workout and lower body workout using the IM 2000.
    My system of training is low volume, high intensity, and high frequency which is largely inspired by Dante Trudel’s DC Training Program.

    Great content as usual. I notice your appearing on ironmaster Facebook page . Good bit of recognition for your efforts . I finally got my IM dumbbells and after 30 yrs of training I can easily say these are the best db I have ever owned . I can only wish I had got them years ago . Fully recommend. I’ll be saving for the expansion plates next . 👍

    That was a nice demonstration of exercises using the Ironmaster 2000. I like the chest support row exercise for the mid back and how you used the bench to replicate a stand alone back row machine. The Ironmaster 2000 can indeed replicate many stand alone cable machines at a gym which would be one reason to consider getting it and cancelling your gym membership.

    I almost got a functional trainer but when back to these videos bc of the 1:1 and the amount of weight you can put on this but then I was like what about the pulley exercises... So I'm glad I saw this

      @@HomeGymHacksandReviews The orange grips and the rotating pull down bar aren't on their website you mentioned the bar in your top 5? attachments video but the orange grips I don't see a specific video. I was asking just your fav/unique universal cable attachments in general. If you had made a video like that. If not it would be really helpful!

      @@MNIU_ the orange grips are the Angles 90 Grips and the revolving curl bar is from Power Systems. It’s been a while, but I think both attachments are in my video: My 10 Favorite Pieces of Home Gym Equipment Under 100. I also did a CZcams Short of my Top 3 Cable Attachments: The Prime Fitness Rotate Handles, the Angles 90, and the Ironmaster Ultimate Row Handle.

    Yeah my Ultimate Row handle is getting a really big hammering these days for back day since I got the lat attachment on my rack.
    Actually interesting noticing the difference doing prone rows with the URH with the low cable compared to doing the same movements with some sort of free weight. With barbells and dumbbells I'll set my bench at a medium incline and that works them fine, I think the barbell variety is good for rhomboids/traps, but albeit limited ROM there (dumbbells I row with a wide neutral grip not to hit the bench), but with kettlebells and the URH I'll have it set on high incline, though with the URH I feel it across my whole upper back/rear delt area as it's nice having the adjustable handles there for increased ROM and a better contraction, so I use the 5th neutral grip hole placings for that, good to see you doing the same movements on the IM2000
    Also seem to use the neutral grip more than the pronated grip on the URH, only for landmine tbar rows and bent over low cable rows I prefer the pronated grip as it hits the lats better I think. For wide grip lat pulldowns I'll use the 6th or 7th neutral grip or the 6th pronated grip though I can go heavier with the neutral grip here because of more bicep activation, the 8th hole is too wide for me though on most things, close grip pulldown 2nd or 3rd neutral grip, maxed out my lat attachment at 100kgs earlier tonight on the close grip pulldowns (only 8.5 inch weight horns, so not great for bumpers)
    Haven't really tried the URH for triceps yet, but it works well for chain flys and what not as you set up also.

      All great points. Like you, I prefer the neutral grip for just about everything.
      I am loving it for Triceps. Rather than grabbing the handles, I have attached revolving handles to the bar and it makes for great Tricep exercises.

      @@HomeGymHacksandReviews at the moment I can't see myself buying into things like MAG grips for a long time, this will do nicely for a while. Probably will buy a few decent barbells like a Rogue Ohio power bar before MAG grips.

      The knock off Mag Grips are a decent option if you can get them where you are. However, and similarly, I’ve been using the URH and Angles exclusively for the last month or so.

      @@HomeGymHacksandReviews there's a few knock offs on the Aussie market now, seem to be around $300-400AU for a 5 pack though, no $129US deals at Walmart here ☹
      For $565AU I can get an Ohio power bar though, so probably look that sort of way first

    Great reviews like always. At 6'2" (weights 220-260 pounds), do you think I will have problem to use the IM2000 for chin up or for squat with a free barbell due to the bar of the smith machine not removable. I saw other review showing doing squat with a free barbell but without plates on it. I already have the Bench since a long time and the tower but with the IM2000 I can get rid of the tower and my actual squat rack for making space. Thank you in advance.

      Thank you. The Ultimate Chin Up has a 300 pound max weight capacity so you should be fine.
      I have an older video reviewing the safety spotter arms and bar hooks; in that video, you can see what barbell squatting looks like on the IM2000. You can put the smith bar in the top holes so it’s out of the way or hold onto the smith bar like I’ve shown if doing Hatfield Squats.
      I just wish the safety spotter arms were a little longer.

    Thank you for the video and demonstration. Random question, but what are the dimensions of the room that you in to fit both the IM2000 and attachments tower? I like the setup. I assume maybe a 7x7?

    One arm back exercise - other advantage, greater ROM, stretch. Need to get back to one arm lat pulldowns...did them religiously to warm up in commercial gym (lost in translation when going to home gym life).

      @@HomeGymHacksandReviews big difference in yours and the used one i bought. of course the guide rods are all buggered up on mine..PLUS mettle ball barrings on metal guide rods..BUT over all im still ok with mine. It sure comes in handy for those of us with back issues.

      I think so…dry silicone spray. I sprayed every piece of equipment I have for the first time a couple weeks ago, and everything feels better than ever.

    I had this long with a hoist fitness functioal trainer. I had to sell both for an all in one force usa g6 for more room. But man I miss the im2000 soo much

      @@briand5047 believe it or not, the lower frequency of DC Training was to get my size and strength back as quickly as possible…and for the most part, it worked very well. I just love lifting so much that I have to stop myself from doing it twice a day, every day 😂

    Hi , Sorry to bother you again but I placed the order for the MI 2000 and it said ground US 48 for shipping . I assume 48 is the states that they ship free to but what is the ground shipping? Is that UPS or USPS or do they have their own shipping company that they work with. Who delivered yours? I live in a apt building and don’t want it left in lobby by mail-truck which they have a habit of doing . Thanks! PS How long for delivery ? Didn’t see it on site.

      Have you seen my full review for the IM 2000? That could be helpful. UPS was the carrier. It took one week to get to me and it traveled 3,000 miles. It’s 3 boxes all about 100 pounds.

    Should I get this or the Titan lat pulldown. I need a lat pulldown.

      I’ve never used the Titan Lat Pulldown. This machine is much more than a Pulldown, it’s the best Smith Machine I’ve ever used. However, for Pulldowns, you have to sit on the floor and lock your legs under the rollers or use the sit up attachment on the Super Bench Pro to lock your legs under. Ironmaster has a lat pulldown for which I have a review.

      @@markrobinson2427 I sit on a bench pad and I think it’s comfortable. I keep my legs bent. I’ve heard some say it bothers their lower back, but not mine. I’ve been using the Prime RO-T8 Handles lately, which the IM 2000 is the only place I can use them for dual arm overhead lat Pulldowns bc they are so long.

    So you cant go to a lower weight doing lats etc because the weight is 36 lbs on that bar? What if I wanted to start at 10 lbs with lat attachment, I can’t?

      If you check out my IM 2000 Hacks video, I show one way to use the pulley system with a loading pin and lighter weights can be used.
      There is also another way to attach plates / weights to the upper carabiner of the cable system and use them as a counter balance.
