Today I've heard two stories from two different friends about how they were raped by either strangers or a significant other. I've been an involuntary celibate my entire life.. except for one woman (for 6 years a mother of 4 young kinds in her 30s was my partner in my mid-20s). Beneath self-identified incels' mysogynistic outer persona, deep down they likely had, or are currently suffering with, some form of psychological, physiological, behavioral or biochemical illness. For that reason alone, some day incels might hopefully be identified by clinicians or other professionals as early as possible, say in their early to mid-twenties, then get the treatment they need by health care professionals, like any other disorder. Treatment with focus and understanding, to prevent them from becoming more deeply disturbed. There is a ton of research about how an incel can be created, but I haven’t seen a lot of info on how to help prevent and incel or deprogram an incel. These are areas that need the focus. The underlying mental health issues that got missed, went undiagnosed, went untreated, the social issues that went unaddressed for these young men are at the root. Narcissism, ADD, inferiority, childhood trauma, witnessing or being the victim of domestic violence, Autism, and so many more underlying issues that go unidentified and improperly treated. It makes me so sad for the boys and men impacted, the hurt they endure and the hurt they cause. Useless, senseless.

Society is trying to convince everyone that their looks somehow add more value to them as a person and if they don't have any then they are worthless. It's important that both sides of the spectrum try to understand each other. Just because someone is more or less attractive then you doesn't make them any more or any less human. @the Lost Q I did say you had a point when it comes to dating but what my main point was that outside of dating they have many disadvantages. For example if the reject the wrong guy they could end up being badly beaten or worse and there isn't much they could do to stop it. And yes they do have the same opportunities as men but since men are the ones already in those positions they tend to only think about men's issues. And there have been cases where employers don't hire women based off of their sex which obviously isn't fair. And to those women who actually don't want to go the easy route and marry rich, and yes they do exist, life becomes allot harder.

Yes men are also able to be attacked by woman with weapons but it happens not nearly as often as it does men. And yes there have been cases where women have falsely accused men of domestic abuse but if you consider the alternative which is actual domestic abuse by the hands of a person twice your size then it doesn't seem that bad. This world is run by men and in many places outside the west is complete hell for women. I do understand that men have a much higher suicide rate, are more often expected to do more dangerous jobs, and are offered mental help at a much lower rate than women are but when you consider what women themselves have to go through it seems like it balances out. Men are biologically much less passive than women are. This can solve and cause many problems.

I'm literally saying that we are being equally screwed by society and by each other(no pun intended). In the story you stated above the simplest solution would be to just not get married in the first place or choose a better significant other. ( I do see your point. Let me paint this picture for you.
After a long day at work Sally finally has the chance to go home and let her hair down. As she's on her way to her car she sees a man starring her down. Sally kindly declines the offer but the man continuously persist. Sally doesn't even bother going to the police because she knows there's little they could do about it and it'll only be a waste of time. So for the rest of her life Sally has to live with the fact that the man that raped her is walking about town. Today I've heard two stories from two different friends about how they were raped by either strangers or a significant other. One was a male friend who was drugged and raped by his gf and the other was a female friend who was raped in a parking lot. They both got restraining orders but for the most part the rapists got away freely.
If you look at the numbers women are subjected to much more violent crimes than men are even though men's homicide rates are much higher. As creepy as these young, sexually unfulfilled men must seem to be most people at first glance, they are first and foremost human beings who appear to suffer with self-esteem issues and then make things worse for themselves and those around them by acting out in inappropriate ways like blaming women for their lot in life or becoming mass shooters and the like.
Beneath self-identified incels' mysogynistic outer persona, deep down they likely had, or are currently suffering with, some form of psychological, physiological, behavioral or biochemical illness. For that reason alone, some day incels might hopefully be identified by clinicians or other professionals as early as possible, say in their early to mid-twenties, then get the treatment they need by health care professionals, like any other disorder. Treatment with focus and understanding, to prevent them from becoming more deeply disturbed. Or in the rare cases, malignant and murderous like that sick guy who ran over those poor people with his van in Toronto.
Have you ever considered that some incels actually have a point? I.e. that their issues are not (only) internal. There is only so much parts you can change about yourself and genetics is not one of them. There is a ton of research about how an incel can be created, but I haven’t seen a lot of info on how to help prevent and incel or deprogram an incel. These are areas that need the focus.
The underlying mental health issues that got missed, went undiagnosed, went untreated, the social issues that went unaddressed for these young men are at the root.
Narcissism, ADD, inferiority, childhood trauma, witnessing or being the victim of domestic violence, Autism, and so many more underlying issues that go unidentified and improperly treated.
It makes me so sad for the boys and men impacted, the hurt they endure and the hurt they cause. Useless, senseless.
