  • In state that require front license plates, installing the license could mean drilling into your front bumper, or sacrificing cooling capabilities for either a radiator or front-mounted intercooler. Grimmspeed offers a front license plate relocation kit which can be used to install a front license plate, without these drawbacks.

wow, a lot of people don't like this mainly because of the holes on the bumper?! Just buy a Cobb license plate delete and your car will look better than it did stock. Plus it gives you 6hp!! ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽

and now you have 2 holes where the licence plate was meant to be. I would just leave it stock.

Just flagging this, but in many cases the tow-hook threads tie directly into your front sub-frame bypassing your front crash structure. having a minor fender bender with a rod threaded into your tow-hook port could turn a very minor crash into a totaled car by bending up your chassis instead of letting the bumper do it's job. I don't know if this is the case on the Subaru's but just wanted to table it for discussion. I know tow hooks are haute couture in the JDM world right now, but I always cringe when I seem em.

I don't understand why we have to run front plates when police always gets us from the back?

I need to use one spacer on mine, though maybe it was how I mounted it. I would also suggest trimming the excess license plate screws. You don't want to have them catch on your bumper. Ask me how I know.

Yes it looks terrible than just putting it where it goes now you have weird flat area on number exposed looks worse. And you have a wrx sti.. Air blockage isn't going to make it an worse than it is.

Hi, what type of plug would you get if you wanted to put a license plate delete on the original license plate spot? I can't seem to find any that go "deep" enough into the square holes. thanks

Think I will get one for my 2017. What does it look like inside the hole? It is protected? I drive on salted roads a lot, I was concerned about getting salt inside. Maybe that's silly, I'm not sure.

This product is awesome, this particular version for the subbie crowd also fits perfect on all model year's of the current Hyundai Genesis Coupe. I had one ordered and ready to go upon taking delivery of my coupe, yay for no annoying holes! :)

Would it void some warranty if I drilled a whole in the cover so dust and debris don't get in there too easily?

I like it, So if you would still need to drill holes into the front bumper without this re locator kit, what are the two already existing holes in the middle of the bumper for?

I have one on my BRZ...do you think it will hold up to a car wash? It seems like it's strong enough. Now that it's winter I need to keep the salt off my car...

even if your mounted it to the side isn't the front license plate engineered to have the air directed through the bottom into the opening
