I had to watch another of your builds and this was another nice looking result from an old kit. I started off in cabovers and can almost hear my joints popping thinking about climbing over the doghouse to get into the bunk, then dressing/undressing on my back (I was always too tall to even sit up against the side of the bunk!) lol... The old ones I see that have been pulled out of weeds and restored today look cool, as long as someone else is driving them! lol Nice looking build out of this old kit... Your clean finishing makes even these old molds look great. :)

Nick, the cab over fell out of favor toward the 90's when vehicle length restrictions were eased up. Most drivers preferred the conventional style of truck for better handling, comfort and safety. I will say, the cab over did offer great view of the road as you would tend to sit up a bit higher and didn't have a hood in front of you.

Cab over trucks are rare on the roads now .
In the 1980s cab over are more common on roads .

If you have a bottle of floor wax that's never been used on a floor you might be a modeler.
Just did the conventional version as Snowman about 3 months ago. I built that kit when I was 14 as the Movin On semi and all I'll say the cottony glaze of childhood nostalgia covered over a lot of the issues with the kit.
Seeing as I just finished the Knight Rider KITT Trans Am and was considering building the FLAG semi seeing this kit available opens up building Goliath as an option.

Gary, the Movin' On truck was the first ever truck I built (I was 8 or 9). I agree with you on the haze versus accuracy back then. I really liked building the Ertl/MPC Internationals and Macks back then...they just seemed to fall together so much easier than the AMT's but, AMT had a much larger selection of subject.
Either way, 45+ years later, I'm still loving building
(too bad I didn't have Doug's videos around back then.)

@@thebrinx9632 yeah Movin On, CW McCall and AMT helped to inject diesel in my bloodstream.
Would go on to a 40 year career on the road that only came to an early end with a heart failure diagnosis in October of 20 ( silent heart attack 6 years earlier about a year after my wife's sudden death punched my ticket) put me into retirement at 59.
On the plus side all those bud someday kits of mine and my late wife ( yes I was that lucky sob that found and married The One) are getting built finally.

@@garysprandel1817 Sorry to hear of your wife's passing, but glad you DID find "the One" (I have too). I have a feeling, if you're anything like me, We're gonna need a good 50 years to finish all these kits (that's if we don't buy any more...I think we know how that's gonna work out).
I never did hit that black ribbon (well, not yet anyway) but have no regrets with my path (F.D.)
Thank you for hauling the goods and bringing it to us...be well.
