I built this kit when I was a wee lad! LOL! This time around I will re power it with the12v71TT out of the Tyrone Malone drag truck, it’s coming along nicely! I enjoy your content and visit Riders in Flint regularly!

These old AMT truck kits can be challenging to build, but the subjects are so interesting and with some diligent work they can come out really nice. I especially like how the cab and dashboard assembly came together here and the two tone paint job without the striping etc. so common in these kits is quite refreshing.

I have this kit and have somewhat replicated the box art.I have superdetailed mine for more realism.I even have a bunch of pictures that I have taken of the completed model with my phone camera saved onto my phone.I will have to play around with my phone to figure out how to share/send photos to people;and maybe I'll send you a photo album of a few pictures of my completed model.

Doug she looks good. I have an original 1978 AMT Mayflower trailer as well as this rerelease sealed. I think they’ll make a great set. Do you know of any aftermarkets that make decals for these rigs? I was thinking about going green/yellow with a mayflower decal on the cab door.

A nice little re-visit there Doug! I used the same Duplicolor Detroit Diesel Alpine Green on my version as well! That two tone red and white with that black chassis looks great!

Nice work as usual, I try to stay away from those kits because they can be very daunting to put together. Love the show and keep up the great work!!

This model is a very nice build. I really like these AMT truck models. I have never used Duplicolor paints but would like to because it would add to the variety of colors for model making. My question is what kind of primer do you use for Duplicolor? Is there a specific brand? Some paints not designed for styrene can mottle and craze the plastic, and I want to avoid that kind of trouble. So many parts in these kits are for chassis, running gear, suspension and steering, that I highlighted these details by using flat, semi-gloss and gloss paints to bring out the model's details. Also, because I use rattle cans, I found I got more even paint coverage when I painted the frame pieces separately, rather than as an assembly. An airbrush might offer more flexibility for painting the assembly. Regardless of how it was built, a very good job was done on this cool model.
