- For the Big Rig Group Build I start AMT's GMC Astro 95, I've got some work arounds for some fit issues...…
P. S. : since I made this video I've cut the back and the rear part of the side walls off the cab interior tub so that I can sort of tip it in past the hinges. I can use the part for the closed curtains if I need to hide the damage. I've also discovered that you need spacers on the rear brake parts so that they don't rub the tires.

Love the way you describe how to address a number of issues with this kit. Thanks for sharing your experience and wisdom so the rest of us can git our truck building groove on and end up with a nice model for the shelf. Looking forward to your finished product.
I am Presently Building this truck!!! Lots Of Fun!! Despite It's Imperfection!!!!!!
it's a good-looking model once it's done. Welcome to my channel!
Looks like we're all in the same boat , Paul. Join the club. Just use a bigga 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨👍
True, there are few problems that can't be solved by the judicious use of excessive force.
That's a classic answer , Sir.👍
That's almost Stooge-esque
She's looking nice so far good luck👍👌🍺🍺🍻🇿🇦😎
Wow I'm so glad I ran into yur channel buddy, I just got this rig today and I can tell already I'm going to be watching this video a 100 times to get through this build!!! I can't thank u enough bro.u just got yourself another sub to yur channel. Thanks alot for the video and stay safe.
thanks John, glad you like the video. Thanks for subbing!
I'm building this kit right now! I agree mocking up parts first, is crucial. I too noticed that some parts can't go on in order listed! I had to omit a few things, amd or modify them. I love these GMC Astro 95 and Chevrolet Titan 90 trucks! So I'll be able to do a better job on the other 4 Astro 95 kits I have! It didn't help that I'm an amateur builder, going from a Monogram 1/32 scale Chevrolet Bison, straight to this AMT kit!
Very cool paul lots of. Work like the Kenworth I’m building lol myself and Dylan at NYS Modeling are hosting it this year thanks for joining and the update
looking great so far have a great day
thanks Russel! you too.
Oh yea, same stuff as the Titan. Same challenges. Glad to see you got the hinges on, but now there's more stuff that has to go on there that will have to be modified around the hinges. Of course I built in the reverse order and the hinges aren't on yet. But I can see that the Dremel will have to come out.
yep, I've cut the back and the rear part of the side walls off the cab interior tub so that I can sort of tip it in past the hinges. I can use the part for the closed curtains if I need to hide the damage. Welcome to the channel!
Great update! I'm working on the KW 123 kit, it has lots of fit issues as well. Take care!👍😎👍
Looking good. Build on brother
Just subbed. You've saved me a massive headache watching these videos as I've just started building one of these! Thank you!
glad to help, and thanks for subbing!
Morning Paul, cool rig, off to a great start sir..... great stuff, thanks sir.
doing a great job sir its looking good
Looks like a lot of modifications to make parts fit, but you're doing a great job of it
Great looking start Paul. Will be watching. Ron
Awesome update it is coming along nicely!! :)
Coming along nicely Paul, looks like a handful for sure, :) 😎 👍
Welcome to the party! Seems like ever big rig kit needs at least one part to be ripped off after gluing in place. I have at least 4 so far on mine. Good luck!!
Yeah, there is a bit of trial and error to be expected.
Oh btw I think craig at muttmodeler is building the same kit he’s done a couple updates already
Thanks Jeff, I just subbed him so I can spy on his progress.....
Paul's Messy Bench Models Lol ok he’s done with his already
Great progress man. Have you tryed to reroute the exhaust?
Keep up the good work.
I was working on that this morning. Evergreen tubing is my new best friend.
Cool.
Hope to see what you come up with.
Why didn’t you paint the truck.
Hi Donald, this video is pretty early in construction. There are two more videos before it is finished, she does get painted eventually. Thanks for watching.
