- Its been a mild past few weeks but we finally got some sort of weather! There is something nice about these quick in and out storms. This time we switched things up and I ran one of the skids!

I'm northeast of Syracuse. We were supposed to get 4 to 8 inches Thurs. night into Fri. morning. We got an inch.

I try to gain as much knowledge from successful owners like yourself but have yet to see a clear cut video on what equipment to purchase and when. For example, solo owner looking to bring on employee. Do you get a second truck, how many mowers for a 2 man crew? When do you get the equipment (Skid steer, tractor, etc) Before or after you have the work ? I get every company will be different but I struggle with this and ultimately just end up saving it all in my bank account.
I added a second truck once I was maxed out with one (couldn't take on new work). We run two mowers on our two man mowing crews. As far as heavy equipment goes, rent prior to buying. Using a rental machine 3-4 times per year is much cheaper than a $700 monthly payment.
