Super Rugby Unlocked, AU and Aotearoa have shown that really Southern Rugby should be domestic comps with the top two teams playing a champions cup after the season.

@@C.K75 Sadly, we have to follow the money or we will lose every decent player we have to Europe or Japan. The international flavour of a competition also gives us different styles of rugby to pit ourselves against and I feel that if we play only a domestic competition, we might find ourselves becoming one dimensional again.

That is why South Africa's Super Rugby teams struggled every year because they have to rebuild their teams with the up and coming talent every year. Some of the top players are returning to the provincial teams but unfortunately they are past their best before date. Imagine how good Super Rugby Unlocked would have been with South Africa's top talent competing in it.
