"It burns so much, LET ME OUT, PLEASE" geez, these guys are tortured just like the handyman, it's good that we take them out of their misery
Timestamp plz

Firemen are criminals fighting to be freed from those suits.
It's mentioned that there are a few who volunteer, especially as the game progresses. But yeah, Infinite has some really frightening enemy backstories.
The backstory a make the enemies even better because you can tell (this does not apply to the motorized patroit) that they are really just humans, as many of them don't even want to be in the position they are now
Isaac Gray Think of it if you are found guilty in Columbia their either banish you to Shantytown permanently or their going to strap you in a inferno generated suit that will burn you ETERNALLY from the inside until you are clear/clean of all your sins by fighting/killing those that are against The Prophet of Columbia.
So they were like a Prototype of the candidates for a Big Daddy?
The Big Daddies lore is that they were prisoners or war criminals, once they transformed in a Big Daddy, all the organs were attached to the suit, making it unremovable.
The suit became their own prison, their obligation was protect the Little Sisters, and their suffering was Rapture.
Only the Alpha Series were the only once that could take of the suit, so maybe they take a part of this design.
@@jazi150 I think you're onto something there.
_" These holes have shown me yet another wonder, though I’ve yet to see the application for it. They illuminate a merger of machine and man that is somehow the lesser, yet the greater, of both parties. The process seems to be irreversible. Perhaps, though, Comstock will have some need of this kind of thing to keep watch in that tower he is building."_
Which results in the Songbird and the heavy hitters. Some Handymen underwent the process willingly, others were forced into it. I imagine it's similar for the Firemen.
_"Comstock took my body from me! Wasn't even sick! Give me back my body, Comstock! Give it back!"_ _"Your death frees me! You shall wear this suit! He said I'd go free!"_
"He said i'd go free" damned.. well between that and reading the Fireman fluff, seems that these guys are just being forced to fight you for an opportunity to get out of those suits.
Fluff? Of the fireman? Show me
@@memethief5878 he/she probably meant bluff
@@vikinggamer7727 No, fluff is another term for lore
@@passionofthecrust9173 oh i did not know that.
2:21 the greatest introduction to a fearsome enemy like the fireman
Pyro's grandfather :D
hah yh xD
"Hudda hudda huh!"
He's my crazed brother.
@Sopomeister TM yeah, I actually have a fireman set for pyro using the iron mask, space diver, and scrap pack, it's the best I could do
I first heard this voice via a sound mod for the MVM Tank in TF2. :D
When i encountered this guy for the first time, i was both scared and fascinated. Such a brilliant design for a game enemy.
Most of them are, for me personally all of them.
Liberated Guardian Yes, the Boys of Silence were both creepy and great designs. Also the sound design in this game amazing.
I can't help but chuckle at the firemen in game: It's just sort of ridiculous how he is CONSTANTLY SCREAMING he sounds like a kid with a bad mic
Well if I was effectivly on fire 24/7 I think I would only scream.
Shrapnelization 😂
He sounds like underminer 😂
He is being burned alive constantly, but also kept alive by the suit and the power of the Vigor. He is literally in the worst hell possible - painwise.
Bakugou XD
The Bioshock Infinite Wiki says that the firemen "are trapped inside Iron Maiden-like devices that are constantly burning them for their wrongdoings in life." I used to think they were just doom and gloom scary assholes, but hearing all their lines with that in minds I feel a bit more sorry for them now.
Trivia
The fireman is a criminal that was locked up in the suit the boiler at hes back keeps him burning and suit keeps him alive
So this guy went crazy by the pain?
Now that's creepy.
THE PUNISHMENT MUST BE SERVED!!
Me: not with my Gatling gun.
john tanker 😂😂😂
Tf2?
We suffer together! TOGETHER!
For me, sounds like a Khornate Berzerker. Seriously, I almost was exepecting the BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!! line.
ALWAYS ANGRY, ALL THE TIME
"We suffer together! TOGETHER!!!"
Fought one in a 1999 playthrough with a shock modifier skyhook that kept him stunned so long as I meleed him. A friend who was watching found several minutes of these screams nonstop rather unsettling.
No forgiveness, ONLY VENEGANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like a crazy preacher pyro on steroids
Like a crazy Irish Dalek.
Johnny Buttsecks Not Irish.
Can't help but feel sorry for the bastard.
The handyman as well
2:21 my favorite line
BURN IN THE NAME OF THE PROFIT!!!!!
The fireman is literal, theoretical, and possibly ironic.
Also what if the firemen are the other prisoners who tried to wreak havoc? Prisoners maybe?
This guy was also in Dawn of War, I think.
I wonder how much fun the guy who VA this had. I would be laughing my ass off at how hard he must have to scream.
"Bathe in flame!!"
Someone should post all of this guy's dialogue from the German version!
EMBRACE ME! END THIS AGONY!
This has become my go to line for when I just can't deal with humanity anymore.
Favorite enemy in all of Bioshock Infinite. So much to this character.
Ah I see I am not the only one who thought this guy would make a wonderful Salamander Space Marine.
BURN IN THE NAME OF THE PROPH- *BOOM*
Me, first playthrough: *screaming*
Imagine:
Pyro vs. The Fury vs. Firefly vs. The Fireman!
Who shall win?
Domnick Joe Good question!
GhostPlanetFilms The Firebat
Pokemario Fan ?
GhostPlanetFilms From Final Combat (Chinese Team Fortress 2)
He sounds like Hitler on steroids screaming to a fan (the one that blows wind and changes your voice to robot )
My favorite heavy hitter :D!
So basically firemen are criminals being punished by being put into unremovable suits that constantly burns them but also keeps them from dying from it. This game has the darkest things
Theres also the handyman
If I remember, the Fireman's original form was going to be similar to Jack the Ripper. Not so much a Cosmonaut.
Similar designs where in place with the Crows. Both where part of an idea called Vigor Junkies, who where citizens addicted to Vigors who had their bodies display the Vigor they preferred the most. Firemen looked like a devil in a trenchcoat, the Crow looked like a cheesed off Charles and there was a crystal Shock Jock that may have inspired the electric design of Cornelius Slate.
The Chaos Space Marines did it better.
you mean the firebats eh?
selemanecu 40k came first.
What are the voice lines for the Marines screaming like do u have a link
You were five years early to the meme.
The space marines couldn't hold a candle to him, he's quite literally boil them inside their own armor's
I kind of like the contrast between the Fireman and The Fury from MGS3. From what I remember, The Fury just ran on fury and flames alone, so it was really hard to feel sympathetic towards him. Meanwhile, the Fireman has hintings of pain and a sense of not really wanting to do this, and so makes him more relateable. I'm glad the developers decided not to go with a copycat costume and instead chose to make a new outfit rather than make another Russian cosmonaut who shoots fire.
I'm pretty sure that the developers of Metal Gear Solid (Konami) and the developers of Bioshock are entirely different companies. So there was little chance of Infinite's devs putting in an astronaut with a flamethrower
All those cool vigors and look how many enemies actually use them against you! You're looking them. All one of them.
There's also the crow zealots using Murder of Crows.
Would've been neat to see handyman variants that used Shock Jockey or Bucking Bronco
"MAIM-KILL-BURN! MAIM-KILL-BIRN!"(c)
Dont you see something familiar here?)
11Frodo11 it`s from Warhammer 40000, slogan of Khorn Berzerkers.
That sucks being this guy, being literally a living, walking furnace for punishment, so angry 😠😠😠😤
These guys are the most underrated Hitters ever.
I'd dare say the Handymen too, but after the last one decided sniff me out like a Bloodhound on a rabbit, I'm not too sure.
From what i remember on reading up about they are in the suits because of the sins they have done, so Comstock put them inside the suits, but the suit constantly burns them so they are in constant pain just like the Handyman
One of the best enemies in any video game ever.
Chaos Space Marine!
I just looked this up because I love the one when he's like "I'm on fire"
getting a chaos dreadnought vibe from this guy; I'D BURN THE GALAXY ENTIRE IN YOUR UNHOLY NAME
These guys.. i feel bad... they are constantly burned alive for their sins... and are forced to fight
I really want to see a gif of the the Fireman dropping it like it's hot.
These guys were a serious thorn in my ass.
If you have the Winter Shield gear (it gives you a brief period of invincibility whenever you jump on or off of a hook or skyline) they become ridiculously easy, since every Handyman is fought in areas with hooks or skylines. Really helpful on 1999 Mode, never got touched by them.
0:54-0:59 BURN IN FLAME!!!!!!
ive been playing warhammer 40k darktide and when i play the preacher i always think of the voicelines from this enemy
It is shocking how few people use Vigors in Infinite. These guys and the Krow Klux Klan fellas and that's it.
You'd think more people would want the widely-commercially-available ability to possess machines or have psychokinesis. I mean you could make the argument that they hurt-- I mean Firemen seem to be in pain-- but Booker nor the Crow guys seem to be and even then you'd think more zealous soldiers would still be given powers be it against their will or not.
Well... Both Zealot of the Lady (crow guys) and Firemen (Devil's Kiss) both have little choice in using them really. I mean, they ARE stuck in an ever burning metal suit.
According to citizens of Columbia they aren't used by the masses due to 'bugs' that have yet to be worked out by Fink. Said bugs are the byproducts/symptoms of using Vigors are easily seen in the cutscenes when you first drink the Vigors. Needless to say a normal person can't easily handle that... Also according to the wiki there were going to be 'Vigor Junkies' in game that had large red crystals (or purple crystals) growing out of parts of their bodies. But it was scraped and reduced to the 'Heavy Hitters'. c:
These quotes get a special savor when you listen to Bach "Aria" in background.
Me: alright I'm out
Fireman: *COME BACK HERE*
Most awesome voice ever in Bioshock...
Brian Blessed...
He sounds like the Galactic Inquisitor.
Interesting, yeah, I wish developers would release more videos about their conceptional processes in creating the major foes of the game. Especially in the case of Resident Evil and Bioshock.
Oh no It's the doctor from superjail!
Ignore me!
So this is how megaman see fireman in the first game
Imagine a firebender vs. this guy!
One of the best enemies in Bioshock Infinite.
this is what happens when a witch hunter peers into the warp and khorne meets his gaze
Fireman speaks in ALL CAPS.
3:14 I try to mimic that scream
Trying stubbing your toes
It’s the same voice actor who dose the voice of the Cultists from Red Faction Armageddon
I've always wondered what the scenery tastes like when it's barbecued.
The fierce determination and rage from the fireman made me clench my buttcheeks the first time i fought him
Aside from ingame lore
All that screaming reminds me of fkin Spessmarines from 40K
They sound kinda like the space marines in war hammer 40k
Sounds like if Morbo was voiced by John Ratzenberger.

I think Steve Blum is the voice actor. He plays a number of characters from the Warhammer universe as well, including chaos space marines from Dawn of War. For Bioshock, however, he's just listed as 'additional voices'. www.imdb.com/name/nm0089710/?ref_=tt_cl_t9
This is actually really sad
3.00-3.18 sound effects of me on the shitter after eating pizza with extra jalapenos
Why do it sounds like a space marine from 40k?
He sounds like the underminer from the Incredibles
You know the firemen need to take a chill pill
I understand what he is now. A man who was forced into a life of torture and hatred, only to be locked away until the day the false prophet was to come to Columbia. His fate is chosen, either to die in the name of the Prophet, or, if DeWitt falls, he will only be locked away once more. It's very sad.
“Safety is a LIE!!”
How do they sleep won't the bed Catch on fire
@@graceygal2664 .....They don't.....
Well actually their Splicers just like Zealots of the Lady and they really wear those to cover up their disfigurements.
Sounds like a Chaos Marine.
"BURN IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR!!!- I MEAN PROFIT!!!"
Sounds like Khorne Berzerkers in WH 40k Dawn of War
I see where you're coming from but, call me sinister, but I would prefer Resident Evil b/c I like learning how the team came up with the scary images of the mutated humans. I like seeing how they still retain some human element in their foes - I think having some human element in fear makes it much more scary - it makes me feel tremendous pity for them having the unfortunate luck of being experimented on by Umbrella/Los Illuminados/Wesker/etc.
“FIRE IN THE NAME OF THE PROPHET”
God those scare me worse than the Franklin Patriot. Especially with their glowing eyes.
My personal favorite Patriot are the Washington ones. When they're your friends, they're so scary to look at because their eye follows you a bit and they look like they're having a seizure.
"Embrace me! End this sodomy!"
Emmm... Both he and Booker are male. What's that supposed to mean?
It could be that he is either asking Booker to kill him to end the constant pain he is feeling or he is asking Booker (as he kamikaze runs toward him) to accept his death and end his own pain since remember everybody thinks Booker is the False Shepard.
David Rivera Oh, the Deeply Hidden Meaning :D Hated it since my Literature lessons.
+TheDaniel366Cobra "Embrace me! End my agony!" is the actual quote.
or even worse, he has an iron hot rod shoved up his ass
Ashtray Delicacy I heard
"Embrace Me! End the suffering!!!!"
The Handymen are in so much pain, more so then Firemen. They also might be artificially controlled and have been partially brainwashed or even brain damaged. Which explains how they go from Magilla Gorilla to King Kong in 2 seconds flat.
fire battty
one of mah favorite charicters
same :P

Did he say Torturous Soul?
+Sergeant Sunflower that or "torch your soul"
***** I was checking the quotes on the Bioshock wiki. I feel like there's a couple of quotes that aren't listed or simply being so easily mishearable. It sucks.
Guys, He didn't just make that video to listen to chaos space marine voice clips. Why won't you belive him!?
(The scary thing is that there was once an African American guy in the south who joined the Klan.)
You look....familiar, Have
He sounds like the Mr. Gutsies from the Fallout game series
Payday: 1912 bulldozer
(I love the firemen so much lmao)
oh wow, I still haven't played the game yet, so I guess it's just a tiny spoiler. But still, having this origin for the Fireman is a very fascinating one.
I know what you mean. "What do they mean by Fireman? Is there a fire somewhere?" "BURN IN THE NAME OF THE PROPHET!" "...Shit."
Chaos space marine.
that's a pretty good comparison dude
*Fireman:* Come Back Here! >:( 2:40
*Me:* HA HA HA HA
