I really like it and plan on getting one at some point, but I do have to agree with the others saying about the rear, it's too square and almost boring looking, it's a shame because it's a fantastic car.

I have the mark 7 ST . And Everytime I drive it , it puts a big smile on my face it handles very well . Yes the ride is quite hard round town . But when you've got a open road it loves to be driven . I love it .
Best bang for the buck performance car EVER, my 2019 ST was 19580 USD out the door. Ride on the standard 205R40-17 tire and rims was poor, which is why those are now in the loft of my garage. Now my ST rides on 205R50-16 tires and rims. Cost me about 1000 USD but the improvement in ride was tremendous and it will pay for itself within 3 hard pothole strikes because what will bust a 40 series wheel won't harm a 50 series. BTW, live in the metro Detroit area and suspect that roads in England are glass in comparison to what is called "paving" in Michigan.

Me, because I associate any of the ST range as being specifically for chav like people who have no style and not enough money to buy a German or even a higher end Japanese vehicle.

I have a one of these and its absolutely brilliant as an everyday drive love it so comfy brilliant car cant quite understand what hes going on about the steering but each to their own brilliant car test drove the polo and its my own opinion the fiesta is far more fun and way better value for the money
He's an idiot, the Polo doesn't even come close to the Fiesta. Nah, just joking, he's not an idiot, he's just being paid by VW to lie about the Polo being awesome, while we all know the Polo is shit and the Fiesta is still the Class standard from every point of view. Matt does not have a soul anymore, he sold it to the VW Beelzebub.
They are pretty cool. I went out in one with the performance package, so it's got LSD, and different suspension. It's pretty nippy. Worth it if you want a fun daily

Worse, literally if they set out to make it worse than the amazing previous model, they couldn’t have done a bigger hatchet job. I just wish Ford would wake up and stop using the same cheapo interior in all their models. If you pay 10k more, why has it got almost all of the same cheap, low end plastic. How about some actual leather, wood and metal, you know, actual materials and not reprocessed oil and stray dogs. The so called leather steering wheel is a joke, sooo thin that it peels off like a Nuke victim’s skin ffs🤣🤣🤣
I've been in these a couple of times already. I really like the recaro seats and thick steering wheel though. I think the steering wheel is the same as any regular fiesta st-line. When you put the seat all the way down, forward and pull the steering wheel towards you, you pretty much feel like a pro racer instantly.
This is the first car review I've seen where the steering has been called "hormonal"...
Luckily there aren't many feminist viewers for carwow ;)

For cars like this, the kind where a community literally waits on edge for months and months to hear what you think of the long awaited ST, I'd really love a longer review. 10:11 is extremely short, it doesn't give you or us enough time.
Not sure anyone cares that much about what he thinks to wait months for a review. He's hardly an expert.
The front of the vehicle looks nice, but the rear is a bit MPV like. The best looking fiesta is still the previous gen, pre facelift Zetec version

It shared the same bodykit as the GTI except the XY were like a premium fashionable model. To me it's my favourite 208 and it has to be in the purple!

I've just ordered a new one. I had 2 of the previous 1.6l versions. These are the most fun you can have for the money.
Glue two of those 1.5 liter 3 cylinders together in a line, mount them longitudinally, and give it rear wheel drive. Fiesta M!

Damn I love the steering wheel! Got the mk3 focus st which basically has the same (only with different buttons) and it feels and looks great imo.

Steering at 8.41, owned an st for 14months never had a problem, the steering is amazing, chuck it into a corner and it pulls around great.
Was waiting for EXACTLY THIS REVIEW for weeks! But too short. As much as you loved the old st i thought you would show more enthusiasm and driving.

Because they sell really well in the UK you won't go far without seeing a fiesta its the best selling car in the UK I know that they just don't sell in the US
I'm with you older Mat. After longing for a Fiesta ST for over a year & then taking an extended test drive I found the same thing with the suspension in the now superseded model, ie, too harsh for the day to day on Oz's crap roads. The Clio RS200's suspension was far more compliant and cushioning, so I bought it and have not regretted it at all.

Have Ford relocated their entire design division to the US or something? Recently they have neglected any attempt to style a car for the European market.
Ray Bloody Purchase Ford has decided to cancel its entire range of saloons and hatchbacks in the North American market, sticking only to SUVs and trucks by 2020. Only small car that won't face the axe is the new Focus with body cladding.

bagintora lol good one but they are a bit small. You could compare the LS7's cylinders to missile silos.
Unfortunately the 3 cylinders have a wee downfall. An inability to keep the revs down when downshifting on a decline. The revs go up!

Great review! Im waiting on a review of the new mini cooper and Cooper S LCI. COmpoarable but just a cut above this Fiesta St. Maybe similar speed though.
Another great review! Epic at 3.55 mins!!! I have a prev generation ST2 and have to say I like the idea (and sound) of the 3 cylinder engine, but don't like the new steering rack (speed) cars looks are growing on me too. Apart from rear end that still looks like a C-max.
I dont care what anyone else says - I think this is a great looking car, though perhaps not as good as the old one. But still great in my opinion.

Except for the ass which I hate, I actually prefer the newer chassis. The Mk7 looks a bit too much like a boy racer car, the mk8 looks a bit more grown up while still being a little bit of fun.
I'm also a fan of sleeper cars. So the more unsuspecting people are of the car, the better haha.
You know it's over when you have to reassure the steering wheel you didn't check out her friend. RIP.

I had my Fiesta ST MK7 for four years as a daily. But I live in Sweden and our roads are much better than UK. Anyway, last week I ordered the new Fiesta ST with 5 doors. And Performance package included. I hope I'm going to have another four great years with this one. Yes, based on photos mk7 looks better but the interior isn't on the same level though. But I want a new car so mk8 feels like perfect upgrade.

I have seen the Mk8 in RL yesterday. Belive me it looks awesome :) in germany the first STs are delivered now! Mine is built on 22th this month and delivered 7th of July :)
That’s sounds awesome I hope you have fun with your new ST . I live in the USA (moved ) but every one of my family is still is Poland or Germany and whenever I visit them I envy the good roads . USA roads are 3rd world and barely drivable unless you have a suv or pickup truck . A majority of Americans are buying suvs now , hence Ford discontinued the fiesta , focus and fusion ! Wtf ford made a big mistake because for the next couple years the other competition will still be making cars . I can’t even get access to some fords that Europeans get . Same way Germany companies make products available in the USA but not in Germany . I can get a manual transmission M5 in the US but not in Germany . Should be the other way around if anything .

Fadic4 I don’t think so . The Ford Fusion sold really well and the only midsize that sold better was the Toyota Camry due to fleet sales . They still discontinued it for some reason, I’m guessing ford assumes suvs are the future now so everyone will start buying a crossover or suv within the next decade .
@@plotdot6920 It's partially because of how incredobly well their trucks have been selling, and the other reason is because the new CEO keeps fucking up their company by making bad decisions. Ford as a car company and producer of great cars and iconiccool cars is awesome, but the decisions they make their and things they run are a bit lacking and has much to be desired. Hope that they get rid of the new CEO and hire better people or atleast bring back the line up of hatchbaxks and sedans...

The ceo is a dumbass because there is a reason the people are buying cars , more mpg and less space and typically less expensive . Watch what happens when a oil crisis or economy goes down or something like that . Everyone will be buying cars with 40 mpg and ford will be fucked . The ceo has to have a 50 IQ aswell , because if ford is giving up half a million sales early , I can promise you they are not switching to suvs , it’s not even guaranteed they will switch to a ford suv , now think about all the people that don’t wnat a SUV period . They will go buy other cars from other companies ...

The previous ST was really good so it was always going to be a hard act to follow. The interior of this one is more modern but the exterior styling of the previous one is better in my opinion.
It's not "better" it's more of people like how agressive and cool it looks, but that doesn't mean it's better all around.

For sure the new one is better. Only mimimi complains o.O the sound is not fake, it just the REAL Sound brought from outside to inside by speakers. The car is quite Loud from outside (about 100db, i30N is 109db in Comparison) Stearing changes with drive modes. On sport and track its more like wrc stearing.
It has 3 cylinder, it is like a Triumph motorcycle! You britons should love it! :-D

How many miles will a tiny turbo system last before it burns out? I find that small turbo engines are finished by 50,000 miles...

The car I’m looking at Ford fiesta st2 (2018) has engine performance level high launch control does that mean it has the performance pack. Unsure about the amber ST light that came up next to the 1k rev as of yet thanks people
