A true master..thank you Mr. Peter Erskine.
This is so well done. What a joy to watch.
Grand Master among masters ...!
Managed to buy this album and meet Peter tonight courtesy of Graham Russell Drums. He's fantastic, such a great vibe from him and some fantastic stories.
Great players making beautiful music. Peter is possibly my all time favourite. His taste and touch is exquisite. On a personal note I am lucky enough to have a Star Walnut kit. I can't even begin to describe how good these drums are. Incredible.
That splash is just so damn ,,,,,,,,,,, Dangerous !!! Lol , love that . Peter is the man .
Many words he said are exactly waht I feel about music and instruments. Peter is such a talented musician and an inteligent person. Also his wife´s quote is superb: "I really like the way this drums are making you play. 08:53". Pure truth!
Every instrument inspires you a diferent way.
Thanks for the video.
What fantastic music! Peter always makes it seem so effortless. He proves that less IS more.
Peter is so great and this is a fun video!
How awesome! Respect!
Peter Erskine is a real-world bad ass!...so cool and such a genuinely nice person.

Thanks to everyone for sharing all the aspects that go into recording an album. Joy to hear Peter playing so relaxed in an effortless groove.
So good
What an amazing comment from your wife!
Erskine is exceptionally cool. He brought such excitement to big band and everything he went on to play. A bad, all time, top cat!
I don't play jazz but this inspires me so much. I learned the basic Jazz pattern on the drums, and when you play that in a rock band rehearsal, people respect you more (:
Jazz school is the best school for every style of music, especially on drum :)
He is absolutely one of My Favorite Drummers.
Peter Erskine. There is no player playing a gentle sound like him.
Thank you Mr. ERSKINE !
Most Excellent ! Peter is my mentor !!
Great group of players! Love John Beasley. I always dug his approach.
what a great drumming - what a great music!! -like it!!
If you are learning drum's - get Peter's books - Drumset Essentials and Essential Drum Fills - used them all
Beautiful music, and also nice to hear some of the technical details. The samples here are wonderful snapshots of "no secrets"... Every note is intentional, has a great tone, and is played by a world-class musician. Such a pleasure to hear. :)
My dream drum kit!
Very NICE !!!!!!!!
My goodness. I think I might just have to buy that album. He has a great way of talking about his drums and drumming. Inspiring to say the least. And, we use the same hi-hats! lol...
The Catz!! Legends, all. Beautiful playing and recording.
Santa moonlights as Peter Erskine in the off season.
The great Jaco Pastorius loved the way Peter played drums - that says it all.
Inspirational for this novice jazz drummer!
Great in depth stuff!!!
Jeroen Simons heelmaal waar.
2:40 when they start that groove 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Mark - Thanks for posting the other side to greatness. We often just hear CD's and respond with a wow, or that's nice. Never getting the chance to see how it all came together. Your mic explanation was really interesting too! Great job!! - Paul
love it!!
Great video. So informative and entertaining! Thanks guys!

Fantabulous that's all I can say about Sweetwater sound studio. I hope to take a tour one day, and maybe play the Wurlitzer 200 that used to be mine. Carefully restored by yours truly!

I'd like to know which wood those Tama shells are.
Peter plays Star Bubinga. All the Star drums are awesome by the way. They also come in Walnut and Maple.
Is Mark Hornsby (1:34) any relation to Bruce Hornsby?
Is Bob Shepard from Cannonball Sax?
Is this new? Is peter not playing DW drums any more?
